  1. Thanks! the bases are actually from a silicone stamp set made by Happy Seppuku. they have a bunch of different patterns. I'm going to be adding some wasteland style grass clumps to give them a little more flair, but I was so excited to have finished the whole crew that I hurried up and posted the pics.
  2. I love love love the use of the orange on these minis to incorporate both faction colors. It makes me sad that I just finished my Lynch crew and didn't see these first. I would have totally stolen this idea.
  3. I love all of these! This is an incredible concept.
  4. After painting up the Starter set, I had so much fun with the Neverborn, I decided to go out and buy a box crew. Plus, this way, if I or anyone I would be playing with want's to do more than just the starter, we'll have a few models to use. I picked Lilith, because she seemed pretty iconic, and I felt like she would fit well "themeaticly" with the guys from the starter. was it a good choice game wise? I duuno. haven't played with them yet. Were they fun to paint? Hells yeah. And a great step up from the starter set, since they were only slightly more difficult to build than the basic difficulty of Angel Eye and pals. So here's a group shot: One of the Lady herself, and her totem (everyone in my RGP who has seen the totem like it the best out of all the crew. They love the way the wings are used as a standing point for the model. Good job, Wyrd) The Tots (these are my personal favorite. I love the anger on their faces, and they were fun to paint) And last, but not least, Barbaros. I'm thinking of going back and redoing his weapon, as I realize it should be a war club, and not some spikey sword from a forge.)
  5. What's not to like about these minis? Bases are sweet, love the choice of color on the gunsmith's shirts, and the color gradient on Kaeris' wings is amazingly well done.
  6. Nicely done! I like your fire effects, and i love the look of the black hoods with the brown robes. I may steal that when I get around to painting my set.
  7. I love it when people take my hobby and turn it into art. I am nowhere near your level of ability so I have no suggestions, but thanks for sharing as a inspiration to keep trying and pushing to do more.
  8. I like that you carried the orange highlight over to the bases. It helps define them as a unit AND helps increase the autumn feel.
  9. ...Aaaaaaand I cannot get my pictures to insert, either from flickr or G+
  10. Up first is my Cult of December set. I have everyone finished except for the Wendigo, because I've decided to not use the poor dead-meat guardsman he comes with. I'm going to have to use a proxy until I can sculpt a new hand and foot for ol' Wendy. I had a hard time getting a decent group picture. Here are some more individual shots:
  11. It seems like everyone is into doing super long show and tell threads here, and I'm kind of used to forums where you just show off a few models at a time. To be honest, it confuses me when I go looking for stuff I saw in the past and liked. So my plan is to do a couple of threads for my own stuff, divided by faction, if that is cool with everyone.
  12. I just received Torch and flame as a Christmas gift. I hope I can pint mine as well as you've done with these.
  13. These all look great. I'm always impressed by people who do well the things I suck at. Like blood spatter. Yours looks naturally placed, and wet. what do you use to make it look so fresh?
  14. Thanks guys, these are the kind of ideas I was thinking of. Not having seen the models in person, I was unsure of whether or not this kind of thing would be possible. Thanks.
  15. Has anyone here done the Death Marshal models NOT jumping over their coffins? I don't know why, but I have weird issues with normal size models being taller than they should be. I was wondering if anyone has posed these guys in a different way so that they aren't up in the air.
  16. Neverborn bases... ugh. I hate it when people are more clever and creative than I am.
  17. Yes. Love the tilt on Guilty #2, love the washed out colors on the clothing. love everything about these guys. You are swiftly bumping this set up on my "to buy list".
  18. I am in need of the 2e cards for my older beckoner models, and do not need anything else from the Neverborn arsenal box. I'm hoping someone out there bought the arsenal box, and has no need for the cards.
  19. This is what I'm worried about. I'd like for the kids to have a selection This could be extremely helpful. I have also been wondering if I could kind of go the way of the starter set and come up with my own "Starter set team" for each faction. Out of existing models, I could choose a henchman, an enforcer, and two minions for each faction. It might be harder to do, but interesting.
  20. I can't wait to see the electric chair and lethal injection guy painted up. I love that you put them on a tilt like that. It really does give them a bit of action. Makes me think of Ghostbusters 2, when the convict ghosts attack the courtroom.
  21. I like the choice of vibrant colors for the dreamer crew. Really playing up the daycare-gone-wrong vibe.
  22. I have a quick question for the group, if it has been discussed before and you can point me to the answer, please do. My question is: How well matched are the different crews right out of the box? My school does an "intersession course" each spring, which is basically a chance to introduce the students to some kind of hobby or experience that is not directly related to the traditional class experience. I was thinking of seeing if any of them wanted to take a spin at Malifaux, but it would mean they each get to work with a single box set. Could games reasonably be played this way, or are certain crews going to get monkey-stomped every time?
  23. As a child of the '80s, I remember depictions of Soviet military uniforms either being a washed out beige, or this shade of muted deep green. Awesome color work. It reminds me of the original Red Dawn.
  24. I've been away from Malifaux for awhile, and just as I was thinking of coming back, I saw the starter set and fell in love with Doc Grimwell. So here are my two crews from the starter set, painted to tabletop quality. These are my first completed minis now that I'm starting over, and my first of the Wyrd plastics. sorry about the blurriness of the second one, my camera skills stink.
