  1. Decent. It seems that she's got the Magical Reproducing Buckle on her, though. A quick count gives me 18. Not sure how practical that'd be getting dressed, but it is fashionable
  2. Mr. Meier again wows me with a sculpt. His ability to do detail is unsurpassed. I've done a few Darksword minis, and the fine detail is amazing. Don't mind painting it, really, small as it is. I guess I'm a fan of the more realistic scale provided by them.. I do NOT like the attached bases, same as I don't like them on Reaper's Dark Heaven. As for the books, just finished book one (because of these sculpts, even) and it was very good. I'm not overwhelmed by it but it was very, very good. 7 of 10, at worst.
  3. Its not bad..not bad at all. Pointy ear is good. Gets my attention.
  4. Yes..whole lots of not bad and not good..average, and certainly would be cool in game.
  5. Yum...groovy Tom Meier sculptey goodness..now if Darksword would just keep them off of the solid base (unlikely I know, but I can wish).
  6. Yeah, part of the reason I don't paint a whole bunch of orcs is because my favorite colour is red, and I try to include it in most figures. With orcs, you end up with Christmas This one is a little bit less oppressive holiday feel..some orcs I've painted needed Santa hats. This is one of the average Gameday figs I've gotten, IMO. Better than Archaon (his feet were AWFUL), maybe not as good as the Slayer from last year (still not sure about him) but not as good as the Space Marine sergeant from 2 years ago..but, since I'm getting them in addition to convention attendance, I'm usually not too ungroovy about it.
  7. Yeah, see, thats the thing! He is very talented, that's certainly evident. But even some of his human males are starting to look this way. His dwarves and goblins are really, truly, some of his best work, I'd like to see more of those. Not that the female form is bad or anything.
  8. Yeah, true. Especially when I get a look at how good the new High Elf stuff looks.
  9. Um...they are meant to be plastic toys placed on the tabletop, why paint them differently? Most of the GW hobby is for the player, not the painter, anyway, right? The players like lots of bitz (why I still do not know) and orks have always been a looty-bitz army anyway, so having them be in a sea of useless stuff because they are packrats fits my eye. Although this particular paint job and choice of colours is not very good.
  10. Yeah..he does seem to keep sculpting figures around the same face, eh? She appears much more 'real' though with the rest of her having hips and a figure.
  11. Heh..Klockenbootie..it is one of his better sculpts in a while.
  12. I have a tendency myself to leave things in the bathroom, and its not uncommon for me to find a fig left there for reasons impossible for me to fathom. Bummer about the lost stuff though! The figures from Helldorado are groovy cool.
  13. Its an interesting debate..Resin aggravates me, mostly because the molding process leaves a residue on it that requires a good cleaning, metal only a quick rinse. Even then, my primer doesn't always stick. For larger figures, resin is the better choice over metal (plastic is the best IMO, but thats too expensive for anyone other than GW) simply because it weighs a bunch less. At 54mm, the difference is negligible, and there I think its a bit of a tie. Smaller than that, well I don't think there is an advantage for the painter for metal over resin. Resin probably costs less to make (not sure myself), but I'd take metal every time.
