  1. Fantastic work as always this month guys. @Caedrus For March I finished the other 2 runaways, 2 Vatagi Huntsmen and Model 9 for a total of 23ss. I have a bunch more Apex on the verge of being finished too but I wont have time today

  2. Unless there's a Penny Dreadful that I've missed (entirely possible, that!), we know OF the Latigo Compound but not much ABOUT it. Some of teh basics that we know: It's effectively the southernmost reach of the Guild, but isn't terribly Guild-y, if you know what I mean. There are homesteads, farms, and ranches around it, mostly north, where the compound can stand between the Neverborn of the Badlands and the ranches, but not entirely as the Ortegas have been SO GOOD at driving the Neverborn away that the area is nearly pacified, allowing for more expansion. It's fortified. And ...

  5. Clarification incoming! Walking Fortress applies only when characters would specifically gain permanent Wounds from a source; not increased Resilience or anything else that adds Wounds as a side effect. The pursuit step grants +1 Wound once per other Talent, so Walking Fortress would grant +1 Wound from Unnatural Vigor. Tough Enough's temporary Wounds are a buffer. They do not count as permanent, nor are they ever added when calculating effects regarding a character's total Wounds or health. Headliners cannot permanently increase their Aspects except through

  7. Hi All Winter is starting to fade out and spring is having good start. Also first fully ready project for this year is ready. Again some miniatures from the past. This been first project that have primed with airbrush and with zenithal highlight. I have tried to paint this as fast and easily as I could but still bring the best parts of the old miniatures to up. Hope you guys like? As with the old miniature line, some times have to make some conversion or should I use word proxies. These two M1E Ronin's will be my Scavengers. I hope that sma

  9. Most of what it up right now is stuff that was already in packaging/put together/stashed away from the move to editions and dug out for X reason. There is quite a bit more that'll eventually get put up, just have to have the time to catalog and put together and figure out what all is there.

  13. Yeah. That's the bonus for you US people. You can get them for nothing. Else, you'd have to spent ~5 scrip for shipping for each sprue. While it's ~30-50 scrip for shipping for us non-us people 😭 On the other hand, most of us get something like real health insurance and at least some state welfare (aka socialism), so that's that ^^

  15. Caedrus, reporting in! Well, I am hoping that everyone can forgive so many blurry / washed out photos in this lot! In March, I wanted to make inroads into my Tormented, and I started with the eBay rescues, which was the base Jack Daw box: 15SS of Jack Daw. Not an inspiring sculpt. Next, Lady Ligeia: A much more interesting sculpt and definitely worth more than 2 SS. Now, Lurch! I enjoyed painting 9SS of Montresor. I've been trying to get better at black cloth. The rear-view shot doesn't show it well. I've made a gallows base for Monstresor, just to make

  16. I was able to finish Lord Cooper's box, but I sadly did not complete the primary colors challenge. Great sculpts, very pleased with the Explorer's Society. For the month of March – in which I started a new job and bought my first home – that's 69ss @Caedrus thanks! Everyone's work continues to be inspiring. So many different perspectives and styles.

  18. Greetings, fellow painters, and welcome to the Monthly Painting Challenge for April! Everything you need to know for the Challenge is right HERE. I've been absolutely blown away with how well everyone has responded to the extra monthly challenge these last few months, so I present to you: The Highlander Challenge! Paint a single Malifaux miniature in the month of April, using only one brush, of size 1 or greater. For some of you, this will be easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. For some of you, it'll be stressed-depressed-lemon-zest. Have a fantastic April, look after

  19. Hey Wyrdos, As you might already know, we’ve been actively working on a brand new board game behind closed doors. Playtesting and feedback have been going over extremely well so far. We’ve made a ton of breakthroughs and adjustments based on game reports, and we are super excited with how the game is shaping up. Over the last few months, we’ve been adding tons of content, and because of the amount of stuff in this game, we need as many playtesters as we can get to make sure that it is as awesome as we're aiming. This is where you come in! We need more playtesters so t

  23. Maybe in a melee oriented dreamer, where you just summon 2 daydreams to get +2 damage to your cricket bat and then you charge with dreamer, use the trigger to place Carver, and then you use Your nightmare to give Carver focus and the oponent adversary (nightmare), with the posibility of placing Chompy too. Its difficult because it requires good placement and winning two duels: You can also use daydreams to move Carver to the front .

  26. So, Mr. Graves is done. I like the sculpt but I wasn't really motivated to put much effort into him. Still I think he looks okay. I'm just glad I was able to stick to my stones level on March's home stretch. @Caedrus With the Beckoner from earlier this month the big guy puts me at 13 stones.

  28. My first thought was, Pandoras Carver is a great anvil, being able to take quite a beating while pulsing out damage via Breath of Fire and Draw Essence. Trouble is its quite resource intensive and rarely enough to hold a real beater. Then I thought, if resilience is the problem, why not pair him up with a couple of OOK Insidious Madness. Great little anvils on their own, but their attacks heal the Carver and themselves from what damage he might cause them. And a ball of Terrifying is a great resource drain. So I made this little crew in the app : Mad Panda (Neverborn) Si

  34. First of all congrats to all of you who managed this month's challenge, i'm seeing very good results 🙌 @Harlekin i think that your work with the mourner is amazing. I really like the clash between the dark model and the bright base. If anything the green on the hat is the only bit that seems out of place, only from close and still gives an interesting effect. From playing distance looks very good. On my side i managed to work a bit on the hodgepodge emissary, it's a truly beautiful mini, with lots of details, and different textures, a tricky pleasure to paint ^^ here's a coupl

  35. And I finished the first bloodhound, well sort of as you tend to see all the little mistakes you want to clean up when you have taken the picture. Super content with the progress, took me 90min to get to that point and I've pushed this exercise away so often. Thank you for igniting that spark with this challenge

  36. I really enjoy playing Anya, though sha has like half of keyword out there. I ALWAYS take Austera OOK for her - she and Winston make ridiculus card draw, plus she can drop hazardous scheme markers. I play her on flanks, chasing down some scheme runners and completing schemes on my own. I like how she can just bring good models to do the job instead of sticking to keyword (though she pays for it with lack of Syndicate synergies). Hostile Work Environment is nuts against crews that really like to target their own models with things like heals, lures, I've got your back or obey. The only t

  39. I created this mini a little while ago, but for some reason I missed showing him off. This is my chibi version of the Manhunter nemesis monster for Chibi Kingdom Death. The core mini started its life as a cowboy robot from Rail Raiders Infinite, so he's come a long way to get here. For the base, I wanted to create a chibi version of a base that I had previously made for the proper Manhunter mini.

  40. I don't take pictures of them when they're unpainted very often. I did get some pictures of a Flower Witch that I made for someone else to paint, so I'll get those pictures up in a bit. The Sunstalker campaign features the People of the Sun- an alternate group you could start out with that have some nods to Japanese clothing styles and weaponry. They’re quite distinct from the usual Kingdom Death survivors. These people live in the shadow of an ancient Sunstalker and raise its young in a pool of colorful liquid. I really love the campaign, and I thought that they would make an inter

  43. I usually see Chibis as fitting with a sort of old JRPG aesthetic, so when I'm doing larger minis, I often think they can just work as is, or they can use a little bit of conversion on small portions that should have chibi features (like the race inside the phoenix mouth, or the corpse on Spidicules' lure) I also made the phoenix's eyes a little larger, but not huge. The Gorm and Sunstalker really didn't need any changes to them. I simply painted them to help them fit in a little bit better, and I think this worked quite well.

  44. My entry at this year's Reapercon was the Tyrant that I made for Chibi Kingdom Death. The Tyrant is probably my favorite Kingdom Death character (at least so far). His construction was fairly complex, using a combination of quite a few parts from various different minis, but none of them were prominent enough to be a "base mini" for the conversion. While I was making him, I went back and forth on how to portray the markings on his head. On the official mini, they're sculpted in relief, and I've seen them painted as scars, tattoos or even gold inlay. I actually started sculpting th

  45. I've been showing off the conversions from my Chibi Kingdom Death set for a while now- but I realize that I've neglected to post up good pictures of the survivors that I've made. Here is a group of them. Since this is an ongoing project, I'll be continuously making more, so there will never be a final "all of them together" post. The conversions range between custom basing and extensive resculpting. Alistair uses the head from Sebastian Cross- I had an extra since I used Cross' body for my Kingsman. His body comes from a Mistmourn Shaman, with his skirt sculpted on, and h

  46. This is my ‘conversion’ of Kingdom Death’s monster “the Hand” in chibi form. I put those quotation marks there because I'm not sure at what point I'm crossing a line between conversion and original sculpt. I started out with a Tanchyo Yajiri: I cut and reposed the legs, hollowed out the head to sculpt the brain and crown, and sculpted the helmet over the remains of the head. I was planning to use those ears for the crown, but it didn't work out, so they got removed completely. I also removed his arms and resculpted them completely. I sculpted the cape,

  47. Here is the Kingsman Nemesis: And here is the Messenger of Humanity. The role of this mini in the game is a little odd. He was part of a set of scenarios that Adam Poots decided weren't working after a beta run. During the 1.5 Kickstarter, one of the promises made is that new rules will be made for all of the messengers. Until then, he's being used to represent a survivor.

  48. Continuing my project to create a set of Kingdom Death: Monsters using chibi minis, here is my Screaming Antelope. I find that I really enjoy mixing the brutal nightmare setting of Kingdom Death with the cuteness of chibi minis. He was created using mostly parts from Impact! Miniatures- the head started out as a chibi beastman, and the body came from a nightmare (one of the largest of their chibi pony miniatures). I sculpted the mouth and teeth in the belly, and moved the legs around to turn it into an antelope (and sculpted most of details to make up the difference). I'll be posti
