  1. First of all congrats to all of you who managed this month's challenge, i'm seeing very good results 🙌 @Harlekin i think that your work with the mourner is amazing. I really like the clash between the dark model and the bright base. If anything the green on the hat is the only bit that seems out of place, only from close and still gives an interesting effect. From playing distance looks very good. On my side i managed to work a bit on the hodgepodge emissary, it's a truly beautiful mini, with lots of details, and different textures, a tricky pleasure to paint ^^ here's a coupl

  4. So, my game against against @Alcathous ended up 7:6 to ma favor. I scored 4 from strat, 1 from LYM and 2 form Vendetta(Lone Marshal vs Emissary). He scored 4 for strat, 1 for RS and 1 for Hidden Martys(Gorar & Serena). He chose the right deployment which as we talked later turned out to bad deployment. My plan for the fight was to put Mali to 9 Wd so I can jump in with LJ and kill him in my activation before he heals him with Serena. Then hunt down Gorar with Lone Marshal to prevent resummoning of Mali. After that I was just looking for opportunities at the table and pick fight

  5. Wyrd intended for exact measurements to be possible - see declaring intent in the rules. So then the question is how far to take it. But I think most people on here play with the 2 inch/50mm distinction (as long as it is declared). I sometimes remind my opponent by asking them if that is the intention.

  7. Couple new things! First up, the finished version of the Mysterious Emissary! Actually a big fan of how his kinda dead browns contrast against the brighter greens of the base. And I maybe went... a little overboard on the foliage, but you know what? It looks nice. Wow, that's a big picture. Next is the guy I've spent a few days on: a Tzaangor Skyfire archer from Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Personally, I'm very proud of the magic effect on the bottom. This whole thing has so many little blends and highlights, but that magic has about eight colors I mixed in it. It loo

  8. Perhaps off topic from the original intent of the thread but, just because there isn't a "Henchman Program" doesn't mean there aren't Henchman out there. I still run events and promote for the games that Wyrd produces. I did it before there was a Henchman program and I still do now that we are in standby. As for GW being the gold standard of minis...well I don't agree. Their production has lagged, especially during the Pandemic. Sure they show a lot of new stuff but actually getting stuff isn't as simple (the store I work in has had significant trouble getting GW product that wasn't for t

  9. The BBS grow engine is better with Z because the Black Blood turns on Bokors, Bokors generate a ton of cards with all the glowy and fast, Z makes scrap for Vasi to turn into Stitched and the Bokors generate the cards to get the 9+ Mask. There is a ton of nested synergy there and bringing the Emissary to take advantage of the pulsed focus is 👨‍🍳💋

  10. Hi guys, so after a while I decided to expand the keyword a bit more as well as address some issues you raised Initially I was thinking about different name, though I wanted to avoid duplicating existing attacks. I changed the name and added a minor bonus to it. I initially wanted to give them an upgrade, though I decided it's not worth the space - you always summon an Orderly, which are not the toughest models among minions that can be summoned. Now I think that summoning without slow/staggered can create too big swing in the game (even if you are attacking with sta

  13. The S-F tier thing can be used almost universally in any game that lets you make variable selections of archtype (even board games like Twilight Imperium) and it's a very good way to look at balance. Yes, I'm shamelessly stealing from the FGC. Apologies if Basse had something viable pre-explorers and was just D by the way, we had him lumped around the bottom of a bad faction pre XP released. A/B/C is really the sweet spot because it accepts that perfect balance is impossible while trying for a situation where nothing is 'take all comers'. A C-tier has a small window, but if you can liv

  14. I don't see malifaux as a war game anyway, it's an objective driven skirmish game. I've not yet managed it this edition but I've won games in all the other editions where I've been wiped out and the other side haven't. ( in one case the opponent ended the game with more models than they started with).

  15. Yes i was going to edit my post to suggest a stat of 6 too. I really like it, i would like to see this keyword on table and play with them.

  16. Hahaha sure is a exaggeration but i think the people can understand the point. Am i right? I'm agree that a balance is needed between killing and scheming. I'm playing with Nellie and i know what It means to add OOK to get some damage on the keyword. But i don't want neither to forget that 2/3 of the card's back are Attack Actions and i want to use too to smash enemies. 💪

  18. I like it. I think I would try to build Sister Sprosser to be both Asylum and Revenant since she's a nun. I think I'd also drop The Brute to Wp 4 or even 3 like Papa Loco and Fuhatsu, other "crazy" characters.

  21. This isn't how tiers are normally used. The usual approach is to define tiers based on power and then place the things into tiers as opposed to spreading things into tiers and then find the power level distinctions from that. Also, I think that it is important to note that Malifaux has a unique advantage when compared to most minis games in that the raw generalist take-all-comers power level isn't the only way to gauge Masters but rather if they excel in their niche they can be very good even if they are kinda lackluster when taken into all possible pools and match-ups. And I get the feel

  26. Oh yeah, no question Hamlin is irritating. If I see Hamlin I probably have to flex in Marlena Webster and a Drowned. Normally Marlena is overkill in a Daw crew (you don't actually want Daw to be completely unkillable) but here it probably makes Tumors just much less efficient at knocking out Big D. Although then I have to actually make Marlena move about in that terrain... (maybe she just sits on the center and scores me Leave your Mark). Hamlin has a bunch of auras and stuff that bypass Terrifying and then you can spend your few cards you do have on smashing through Bleeding Disease on ke

  27. You can also use Lucius to Issue Command to a Lawyer to Obey a Mature, this will yield a card from the lawyer if you have less than your hand size or card cycle if at max hand size.

  32. Being a guy that digs into malifaux everyday while I'm off work, I see several names that consistently come up. I don't have any experience with them in third edition though. The names I see come up have pretty much been repeated in this post over and over. And that list is pretty much what kharnage just said. I see those names on this forum....pretty much every day. Although to be honest , I'm much more interested in who the F tier masters are. As nerfs feel twice as worse as buffs feel good, so unless you only butt heads against people who abuse strong models constantly to get good feels

  33. Thanks! i felt the same way, but I faced the mini as an exercise on textures, this motivated me to finally work on it. left the guy and all the knick-knacks for the end because i fear the moment to paint the face and the stuff in the baskets 😆

  34. The turns after the mature is in combat I have had Lucius make it attack twice and then charge after it killed the first target. First Lucius issues comand to the mature then issues to a changeling who in turn issues the mature. 3 ap the issue to the other changeling to make the mature charge. The first Lucius Ap could be used to Focus the mature as well.

  36. Congratulations to the most stylish master of the Neverborn 🥰 If I play mature nephilim I want him stacked with focus. Since he can only concentrate once during his own activation I use Lucius’ „issue command“ to concentrate with him during the activation of Lucius. One or two changeling and lawyers can do the same. Chagelings use „just like you“ to copy „issue command“ from Lucius. Lawyers use obey.

  37. I'm not a misaki main, so may not be perfect, but from what I've seen, it's a bit of both. I've seen folks use trashier mobs turn 1-2 to toss out a scheme marker or 2 so torakage can ninja vanish to them + swap them into shadows for more possible misaki vectors. I've also seen misaki toss hers out far enough away (or enlist ototo) that a torakage can jump to it and either replace it with another shadow, or a scheme. Really depends on what you're going for / what you need. I like the flexibility of ninja vanish as it lets you 'save' a marker until it's needed. Aka, if you want to s

Super content with the progress, took me 90min to get to that point and I've pushed this exercise away so often. Thank you for igniting that spark with this challenge

  42. The story continues. After Madame Sybelle's girls were confronted by some cheeky Performers on Friday* I had to finish all the Mindless Zombies, asap. *Luckily, Asura Rotenberg is visiting Drywater these days and she helped keep up proper order after having tea (and whiskey) with Madame Sybelle the days before and the lovely and honorable ladies befriended each other. As soon as the first explosions were heard from the direction of the local church, the two had to take a look to see what was going on. Guess what, Callous Cassandra was busy bombing the cemetary with sticks of dyn

  43. <MOD HAT> I find the forums work a lot better for functional discussion if we follow the polite assumption that the people we are talking with are stating what they believe to be true. If you think that people aren't doing so, then I would say the best approach is not to provoke confrontation on the topics. Assigning other motivations to other peoples actions and then accusing them of doing so will quickly cause threads to derail and produce nothing of use. If you think people are posting deliberately controversial posts then please report the posts, and don't react to th

  44. But... Due to recent events I had to change my painting schedule. My lovely Redchapel ladies were conducting their honorable business in the small settlement Drywater just a few days ride south of the Knotwood and weren't thinking of anything terrible (well, not of anything terrible besides being killed by Seamus, that is), one fine day, a bunch of ugly living ragdolls dressed in fancy clothes entered their small and beautiful little town. It was a bunch of Arcanist misfits, a weird troupe of waitresses (and a sheep) who had decided to steal the money of the hard working people of Dry

  45. I just ordered some WGV cards, and the overall quality/cardstock is similar, but noticeably thinner than what comes in with the models. The corners are also slightly more rounded off, so if you stack the two types of cards they don't quite line up properly.

  47. Sure, here are some ways that I was able to utilize Yasunori in my last 2 games with him. Also note I ran him with Misaki both games: Speed 7 and Flight allows him to get around the field and this makes him arguably the most mobile model that we have. While he does not have Agile, he does have The Wind's Wrath which can be used to disengage. The Wind's Wrath affects Enemy models as well as Friendly. That's a fun one to use, especially when one of the scenarios requires a model to be B2B with a strategy marker at the end of a turn. It can also help you get that extra Quick Reflexes
