  1. I cheated the Fast Food Ram trigger on that attack in hopes that he wouldn't care/notice so that instead of not getting health back for Blood for Blood, I'd get 3 health back; 1 for killing, 2 for fast food. He both had the king and cared to cheat it, so it missed instead. Otherwise it would have been a huge surge in hope for my half of the board. While drawing the activated Nests in might have been the right play in retrospect, I had a game plan to drag Meredith to her death since once she dies the husks stopped and I wanted my first recover evidence point, and I wanted to try and mak

  3. If there's an errata coming out this spring, chances are that's exactly what will happen. I doubt anything in Explorer's Society will even be touched as we're just now getting some real play with them. The year feels like forever, but the book came out less 3 months ago and in paper less than 2 months ago with limited play occurring throughout the pandemiced holiday season. If there are even 3 things changed from the faction I'd be stupifued!

  4. Of course. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AybmFiUyDeIk9rXVHyg2s4LW8zyBU7WccIHr5Yo_KCU/edit?usp=sharing The data you need is at the "Games" list Don't look at the "Masters" list - it's currently broken, will repair it in a couple of days.

  5. As I've been going through and reviewing the Explorers Keywords (so far finished EVS, DUA-Umbra, and Cadmus), it's clear to me that Seeker, DUA-Umbra, and Cadmus are easily "S Tier" crews in terms of power, all on (at least close to) an even playing field with Dreamer/Schtook/Colette (with obvious match up variability). Even if Cadmus is only on the power level of "S Tier" and not to the level of "immediate NPE, impossible to win against" that's still a problem. I haven't watched any of the games, hopefully I'll get a chance to.

  6. I was thinking about this separate of this post in a kind of 'is funny we got a re-release of collodi as people still like him / want to get him, but haven't seen similar comments for nico or ramos'. Course part of that is probably meta. How did people react? Its been a while but I feel like during initial M3e the boards were pretty on fire about them disappearing as end of m2e was pretty big on ramos/nico lists... but it was no worse than people upset over masters changing their playstyle or changing / losing factions. If anything, I think there was more people upset that tannen/grave

  10. I think the game is balanced around double masters. And second (third etc) master is a special tool for a special situation, not a magic "press me to win" button. A year ago I've posted some analysis after a big tournament in Russia (which happened to be the biggest in Europe in 2020 because of covid) trying to find out whether double masters are broken or not. This year we had a big new year tournament again and I'm still working with the data (a lot of other work to do slows me down). But I already have some shocking numbers that can be treated as a proof for my initial statement.

  11. Bokors are a bargain. They do too much for their cost, the healing is not the problem is their card draw that is insane. The nerf could be as simple as make "Deja Vu" only once per activation. Whiskey Golem is totally fine, but Moon Shinobis should definitely go in that "maybe" at least.

  12. I (really) came to Malifaux with M3E. I only owned 1 and a half crews, before and didn't plan to invest more. Mainly because the whole game was a real pain to get into; I got my M2E rahter late with a Pedita crew and while I one a few games, I most of the time didn't really understand what was going on on the other side of the table as my buddies were into Malifaux for a long time, had huge collections and knew all their stuff by heart. As a beginner, I didn't enjoy late M2E, there where just too many things to keep an eye on. When M3E finally arrived, I planned to invest a little as I l

  13. He had wrath and seeing his cards both of those could have been lured in by staying 9 from them. Then ghosts the closest one for min 2. Then walk charge (one was already wounded moderate by a mature so down to 5 after passing 1 to other). He had cars for shove aside as we saw so charges healthier one, shoves to other blocking LoS between, attacks and blood for blood then charge "healthy" one (4 wounds left maybe). I'm going off cards seen. And even ignoring that, one would be dead with a mature still to go. Sorry you couldn't see the play

  14. sorry but even a rookie nekima player could have dropped both nests turn 1 with no counter play. then to "forget" (from self proclaimed nekima expert)blood for blood against a 1 wound model and waste an action turn 2 as well. I couldnt watch past that as I could see what was happening. I havent watched the other games but when I hear a dreamer is placed within 8 of unactivated models and gains parasite because of it then its all I need to know. I did see part of the mccabe game, where plaag knew he was facing a gunline so chose possibly the best map in vassal to counter it. so

  15. From the announcement of M3 there were complaints about invalid collections. Some were true, others were more about they couldn't play their favourite list, and actually they did still have valid crews. Some of those players have stayed, I imagine others have left, but they probably aren't going to post. I would imagine in part its because it isn't that large an investment to return to a playable list in all cases. Personally I wasn't too worried, partially because I have a large enough collection that nothing was invalid, and I know that my local players aren't going to object to

  16. A bit of it will be survivor's bias - people who are still around and playing/posting are obviously happy enough with the game to stick around. I was only present during open beta, but there were a fair number of complaints about invalidated crews. As far as DMH goes, I personally think it is a great way to keep models relevant while dealing with the inevitable 'cycling' that happens with models in these games (though I think most wargames go wayyy overboard on it). That said, I know there were people who bought new crews just before 3rd edition came out and had their crews inva

  17. that's kind of unavoidable with a starter box and existing players right? You don't need the deck, tokens, measuring tools, but a new player does. They either have to have 2 boxes with the models and thus overall higher costs or us existing players have to buy stuff we don't need for the models. Agreed. Yes I don't need any more fate decks (i totally have 30+ at this point) and unless I'm getting cool acrylic tokens I'll keep using the other ones I have, but even tho I'm not going to use em, I think it's a good idea to have starters be ... well... starters. I just hope they include

  19. Here is a battle report of my Nekima into Nexus. For this game, I tried to take a strong lure effect (Wrath's Bring It!, Since the +2 can overpower the unhelpfully low Mv Cadmus has) as the previous 3 games into Nexus demonstrate to me that Nekima or Matures diving into the ball results in death by the end of turn. It uh... Didn't work. If you don't want to sit through 2.5 hours of salt, TLDR I lose on the master I'm famous for into a good player who's playing Nexus for the first time 0-6. It wasn't even close. And while I had a couple of unlucky moments, I wasn't getting demolished by c

  22. All the images in my old thread are broken for some reason, so I'm gonna start a new one. I moved, and moving both killed a lot of my drive to paint and kind of destroyed a lot of my free time trying to get a new job and everything. I do have a friend who has been getting me to do craft things with her when we video chat every couple weeks, so I haven't exactly been inactive, just not as active as I'd like. It's also been too cold to prime minis for the past couple months, so a lot of things I actually want to work on, I can't beyond assembly. That said. There's uh... kind of a

  23. Oh, I was more looking to find answers regarding psychological and emotional impact. I for one am more interested in the aesthetic, the setting and the characters than the actual mechanics. Still market changes are an interesting data point to find out what might have happened to the player base. Speaking about Warmachine and Hordes: Are they dead? Something seems to have happened but I have no clue what. Age of Sigmar seems to be doing quite well, though I know a few people who were pretty upset about the end of the old WHFB setting. I hope Jakob is not the next on the chopping bl

  24. Yeah, one of my gaming buddies plays Guild and feels the same way, the option to dual master helps bring in some counter tech for certain crew/faction match ups. So it's far less 'let me bring the OP combo' and more 'oh man i need armor ignore' These are good questions. I'm mostly interested in the first one, as if everyone is only testing against single master lists, then of course single will be a bit more balanced than double (same could be said about 50 stone being more balanced than 35 stone games or HH/Double Rush). Does that mean that if devs mostly test single master lists t

  28. I appreciate the sentiment that I could have only possibly lost by throwing the game, it does my confidence good. And it sounds like you're unconvinced that I am a good, successful Nekima player. If you're as decent of a player as you are a human being, I'd be happy to get a game in. You can play Nexus if you'd like.

  31. I am mainly an Infinity player outside of Malifaux and I am even one of the long time Warcors there, and I defenitely second the weird pricing for a so-called starter set. A one-on-one comparison to the Infinity starter boxes shows: - Infinity: 2-player starter boxes included a paper mat, enough card board terrain for said mat, dice, tokens, measuring tools, introductionary rules booklet, 14 high detailed metal miniatures (7 for each faction/player, including 2 limited models) for 110€. Compared to regular prices, that results in a player paying for two typical faction starters (2x

  32. Why nerf the bokor? I find they are a good model taken frequently ook; but mainly because they are a good healer and bayou likes to self harm a lot. Nerf them and imo people would just change to something like spit hogs. Whiskey golem is unfortunately probably more in need of a nerf. Would add Moon Shinobi to the buff list. Imo they are very over shadowed by fermented River monks

  34. So to try and sum-up, the most in need of adjusting seem to be Keywords: Wizz-Bang, Tri-Chi Models: Wong, Lightning Bugs, Wrastlers, McTavish, LaCroix Raiders, Burt Maybe: Banjonistas Downgrades: Rami, Bokor Does that sound about accurate? Did I miss any? I didn't include every model mentioned but more the ones that seemed to have something of a consensus behind them.

  35. I think it's a bit bold to suggest that Kharnage and others are playing bad on purpose in order to paint Cadmus in a bad light. You are basically saying they are manufacturing games for their agenda, which I find quite rude. So maybe you wanna rephrase?! I'm sure that's not how you wanted it to come across..

  38. Incidentally, EVERY model with the Toss in the Mud action is considered average at best, I believe? It'd be a good candidate for a tweak (make it melee 2 or even melee 1 so everyone can charge with it?). I know cards make bulk erratas hard, but the common names for these things mean that sometimes you have to errata lots of things at once. It feels like an oversight that they never printed the melee symbol on it in the first place (like Pride with the 0" attack that had to be errata-ed). It would be frustrating if this whole issue is a typo like Pride was!

I usually prefer building my own models, but after checking the quality of the latest preassembled models (the Pandora alt. crew and the Fat Cap) I don't mind these models being already assembled. Comparing my models from TOS against these latest preassembled model the increase in quality has been so good that I will buy these starters without any doubt.

  45. The only change I see reasonable to Colette is reducing the Presto-Chango to 6" instead of the current 8" or increase the TN by 1-2. I 120% agree with @Vangerdahast here, the real problem when facing Arcanist is that Rider (specially with SS cache). Being able to reactivate a model in turn 2, 3, 4 and 5, while being in a corner of a map, without LoS or range is nuts. Even as a last activation can easily score 2 points from schemes pretty easy, dropping 4 scheme markers with 0 counterplay. It should require targeting/LoS or/and a model in range. Duet is fine, after all it costs 12ss a

  48. I think the largest overarching problem with the Freikrop as a whole is its incredibly card intensive: between VS/trunks attaching upgrades (TN needing 5 & 6 respectively), TN needing 7 (Grenade Belt), 4 (Land Mines) 7 (Leapy boots) 5 (Rocket Launcher-Blow it to Hell), Hannah's Bous action (especially if she's copying another bonus action), Librarian's heal (TN needing 6 + the actual heal flip, as healing for 1 feels really bad), Engineer need to DISCARD a card AND flip a 5 for Strengthen armor, Reference the Field Guide on Freikorpsmann, the bonus actions on steam trunk, and Shouting Orde

  49. Well, Hamelin + Wretch is 20 stones of models. If you plant yourself near Dead Rider + Archie, you're going to be taking a similar level of damage. It isn't like the wretch can do that damage itself. It enables the keyword, and personally I love keyword synergies. Plus if you removed the ability, would the model ever be taken? Although I wonder if they ever experimented with stat 4, similar to the Chihuahua.

  50. I'm not 'anti' changes to Sybelle, but I do see most of the comments in this thread are not looking at the keyword as a whole, and when they are, its keeping the limited areas to buffing, its bringing back a 'call belle' ability, which I am not saying isn't a suitable option, but has been done before and will have some players of 2nd Ed twitching as they remember recursive hordes of 8 statted Lures... To me the whole keyword is simply too grindy and slow overall compared to what I see in the game. Its a synergistic blob, but its not enough to control more than a 8"-12" diameter bubble on
