  3. Caedrus, checking in! Greetings, fellow painters. I hope that, wherever you are in the world, that you are safe, well and happy. In fact, here in Australia, it's RUOK ("Are you OK?") Day, where we encourage everyone to ask those around you if they are OK, in terms of their mental health. So, in that spirit, I hope all my fellow painters are OK! My apologies, folks, it's been a crazy time for me of late. In fact, one of the reasons for this (if you'll forgive a personal anecdote) is that Caedrus is now Dr. Caedrus! Woo! However, onto far more important things - painting! Thi

  4. That's brutal. Sometimes the cards just go against you, and you just have to accept it. I think one problem is that your opponent was dictating everything. This is usually bad, but it's even worse for Misaki which is a crew designed to be the aggressor. After Mei's activation in turn 2, you should have been looking for where you could strike to put your opponent on their back heel, or disrupt their plans. If there was no option for this, then your mistake(s) were positioning and planning. Unfortunately the hardest part of the game to learn. Of course you didn't realize you could somewh

  5. Thanks everyone! I just finished some Aversions. The masters of social distancing! I thought a bit on how to paint these. I didn't want them as all blue-white ghosts like in the artwork, since that wouldn't really fit in with the rest of the crew. So I painted them like my Sorrows, but with blue flames instead of green. It makes them stand out more from the Sorrows and should make it easy to quickly identify different woe during a game. To keep the colour scheme from the crew I painted their clothes green instead.

Hello, I won last tournament in Poland playing list below: New Mei Feng Crew (Ten Thunders) Size: 50 - Pool: 6 Leader: Mei Feng Totem(s): Forgeling Hires: Neil Henry Silent Protector Kang Sparks LeBlanc Mechanized Porkchop Metal Gamin Rail Worker References: Bombs In Yer Belly In last game i was playing against Hoffman so i changed Kang for samurai because of ignoring armor, Foundry models are very mobile so i don't play much versatile or out of keyword models in mei because they are to slow for the crew, or if you really want to pl

  9. If the Viktorias use Synchronized for example to chain activate, can the second Viktoria be stopped using Pandora's mood swings? Pandora's effect happens after a model is chosen to activate, so does chain activation count?

  10. Hi, I'm a new Malifuax player from germany. I started with the molly box. But before painting the content of the box I wanted to make some color testing on the zombie skin I will use. So the first Minis to paint were some Punk Zombies: lots of skin, and you can't do anything wrong - because they're just zombies. After using a very clean comic stye on my pink Space Wolves, I was very happy to do some weathering and bloddspilling!

  11. Hi, I speak about this problem a lot of times in my community (and we talk about this with Felix the winner of UK national of the past year, because he is my close friend) and we think the dame about this... Okay I start to explain The Melee beaters models in this case masters because this Is the "most powerfull Melee beaters" Are a hungry machine of eat soulstone and cards, I speak about nekima because Is one of the masters that I play More times and have very serious problems. Nekima Is a Melee model with 5 defense and no defensive triggers with 12 wounds this Is a big problem beca

  12. By all means. This is a good time for me to say that I don't see these threads as the skeletons of (presently four, potentially eight) tacticas. I have major doubts about my skill level, time, or even interest in stamping my face on the faction that way. It's just that as we wade through card previews and the faction's release draws near I saw value in organized, easy-to-jump-into threads for each of the Keywords for players new and old. So go ahead and post your batreps, playtesting, theoryfaux, or even just gush about how much you love the mechanics/aesthetics. These aren't my private fiefdo

  13. I love playing Seamus. I think his keyword isn't as bad as people make it out to be. My standard Seamus list is: Seamus/Whisper, CCK, 2x Dead Doxies with GST, Carrion Emissary, Nurse Nurse is the only OOK model I tend to hire). bottle of painkillers is great with great triggers and tools for the job is awesome too. Seamus with an extra focus or shielded opens a lot of doors. With GST the Doxies are quite difficult to kill and the movement tricks can be used offensively or defensively. That gives me 15 stones to play with and I tend to vary based on the strat and scheme poo

  15. Just go for it! I've never tried half of the things he does in that vid before, tried a lot of new things with this crew. I'm sure whatever you paint will be great! I've only finished spritz and gumdrop, the rest are WIP. I got the scale 75 fluor paints and I'm trying to have one pop colour on each model. They're like gel to paint with, really strange. Took me a bit to figure out how to use them.

  16. Not for being the target of Claim Jump! For pushing everybody away of the center for the first point for example. Scatter is great for that, for preventing the model with the lodestone to control one of the strategy markers and to prevent a model from getting a Symbol of Authority. All of that thanks to not require any sort of duel or even get a TN.

  17. i played against her and have seen some shit) like not activated nekima in my deployment 1 turn and 3/5/6 dmg hurts; try to play more aggressive, stack focuses with your bbs, use good position for u; and talking abt ressers-they are the weakest faction in the game, but some good players can play with it insane way because of their mind

  20. I think with Mood swings being a master only power that requires a fair element of setup (aura plus los to somethign you would rather force to activate) that it's probably the intent to interupt any model activating in that aura. It's not like it's stopping the oponent getting an extra activation. I also doubt anyone thought "oh pandora is too good we need to add some models with chain activation powers to hard counter this" EDIT: I think its important for your oponent to know about it though. It's possible for them to influence who pandora can see, and to choose to use chain activati

  21. I can't offer anything productive at the moment, but does it make a difference which model is causing the chain activation? Actually looking at Companion, Accomplice and synchronised, they are all things done by the model that is about to activate (even when the ability isn't on their card), and so probably bypass the choice in a way that you can't mood swings it.

  22. Step C requires a Chosen model, therefore regardless of if you do step B a model has to be chosen to activate. "C. Activation: The chosen model Activates (it is now the Acting model) and follows the steps below. " I don't think the wording of mood swings requires the choosing to happen in step B of the activation timing. But you probably want to clarify before playing with your opponent or tournament organiser.

  26. I really do like a doxie or two with GST. It's just such a pain for your opponent to kill. Dandies can be good as a cheap significant model, that can produce corpses/ remove scheme markers, and sometimes a belle can be nice. I always take emissary with him for sure though.

  27. Honestly, love his keyword but I usually run them based on the match. They can be brutal but requires alot of knowledge I think, and some versatile and OoK picks I think.

  28. I played against this model tonight in a Basse crew and he was pretty brutal. Now, I hadn't seen him before, so next time I'll be ready. I didn't realize he had a trigger that buried him, so I attacked him turn one, which was dumb. He buried. He took damage, but as an after resolving trigger there isn't much you can do about it. Following that he pops up doing 3 min 3 attacks! He can be very strong against a lot of crews. Thunders, guild, and Tara will tear him up I think but if I were to play Basse into anything else the Sand Worm would be along for the ride. He seems very good for 8 points.

  29. Yeah, I think the timing argument is pretty conclusive. Step B is "Select Model" which is described as "The Active player chooses one of their models that has not yet Activated this Turn to Activate. Chain activations explicitly bypass that step, and say "Some effects can cause models to Activate after another model. If a model would Activate this way, immediately go back to the start of Step C." In case someone wants to argue about expectations (from the Action sequence or elsewhere), that's a different arrangement of steps compared to taking an action, where the first step is alwa

  31. This might be on of the key differences between your style and that of others. If you can keep him alive, then he is a potentially very useful model that doesn't want to be in the midst of things. I also think that a lot of the people using him plan to turn him into a Mature Nephlim around turn 2, which can give a little more survivability, and still be able to threaten attacking something that is 12" away twice in turn 3 almost regardless of the terrain in the way, so keeping him back a little in turn 2 is not such a cost. That obviously will depend on table, crew and opponent, but giving out

  32. So with antipathy + scamper, a move will go off if they fail OR if they cheat, likely resulting in being out of range of the attack.

  33. Charge > antipathy and move > attack Generated actions happen after generated effects. For terrifying, the attack still goes off since you're halfway through it when you take the check.

  34. Seamus has a pretty terrible defense and, aside from the dreaded terrifying, only has HTK as defensive tech. If you can get to him you have a pretty good chance of taking him out quickly. He has great mobility with his Secret Passage, but he can still only get so far away from you and retain his ability to impact the game at any given time. There are a lot of ways for the Neverborn, which are pretty quick, to get to him and put damage into him. Get started on it early and keep at it. He can heal, but only once per activation on his own, so wounds mean a lot to him. He will likely only be one o

  38. Go for what models appeal to you the most, paint up a keyword and start playing. Malifaux is quite balanced, and all crews have their distinct flavour. That neverborn doesn’t do much shooting, doesn’t mean they can’t deal with shooting crews - they’ll just do so with teeth and claws.

  42. This one is an actual one. In the germen painting forum i'm active we have some kind of "c'mon everybody lets do some dwarfs" thingy. First I was not that much interestet. But at the time I found my old miniatures from the 80s in our cellar. So I took one of the old grumpy dwarfs and tried to make somthing quick. But I should have known: quick painting and me will never happen. Mostly everything is scratchbuilt. The story is about a dwarf who was quiet upset about a not so well tapped pint of beer. Leading in the demolition of the pub. The moment shown is when he walks away in the ni

  46. Philip and the Nanny were the reason I started with Molly. A severed zombie head in a pram, pushed by a zombie nanny - who could not fall for this? I'm very happy with the model. I tried a decent OSL (my second), and I'm very happy with the result. Very often you have a very precise picture in your head - and the results never seem to be adequate. But not this time. This looks nearly exact like the picture in my mind I had from the very beginning! Transport issues I procrastinate.

  47. This one was difficult. First the assembly: 20 tiny bits. Coming from GW its like a smith doing brain surgery. And the Necrotic Machine was the model I liked the least in the Molly box. I just couldn't get a feeling for this model. I searched the internet for inspiration, but I found only few well painted Pontos. All of them just some metallics and a wash - and most of them the old model. At least I found a model in this forum, painted in more bright colours. So I had the idea of a machine made of bones. And I wanted to make it look disgusting. If you got nothing to loose, its easy to sta
