  1. I think this was @Legislat. If it wasn't, my apologies. Some very good advice about guild this edition.

  3. Just a quick closure on this... We played the game yesterday. Stopped after 3 turns due to time and my kids not leaving us alone lol. After 3 I was up 2-1. Very likely score would have been 2-2 or 3-2 in my favor had the game run its full course. My list: Reva +2cc Manos Anna 2x Shieldbearer w/ GST Bone Pile His List: Colette + 3 doves Cassandra 2x Coryphee, one with soulstone cache Silent One Envy Miner with Magical Training I went with research mission and vendetta (Shieldbearer on a Coryphee). 6. Good news everyone! After some success and growing interest of the community on my bayou gremlins painting topic I decided to share my progress on LJ and her butt-hurting department with ya all. So LJ are coming to punish ressers and undead things. I’ll upload all my progress on painting marshal keyword and will appreciate your support folks!

  7. Bayou is LOADED with them... every one else, not so much. Also, if you've declared Parker, you can bring Bayou Smugglers, who can just move them, which is kind of like getting rid of them. So, another option.

  9. I have this SUPER CRAZY conspiracy theory about the Nephilim core box, as it has not even been announced yet. In 2nd edition, the henchmen were Nekima and Barbaros; in 3rd, Barbaros has run away to Outcasts and Nekima is the master, leaving no Henchmen in the box, which is unprecedented in any crew box (Hayridden is boxes with the Black Blood Shaman) So, as Nekima was an antagonistic henchman to Lilith last edition (she had an ability where if she killed Lilith during the game, she became the master), so I thought if there was a new traitorous henchmen to fill that role, may be it would

  10. She might be fun with the Viks. Giving them extra charges and protecting them with extended reach. You could potentially get 2 Vik attacks off 1 Misaki AP with This One's Mine or a bunch of whirlwinds

  13. For that board I would definitely be bringing Seamus and the Rider regardless of the scheme pool. I'd love to play on that board in real life - imagine having a train set! Usually if I'm playing on vassal my opponent and I just keep generating a board (after crews) until we get something that we both think is fair.

  14. I don't think I understood how good she was until I watched one of @Legislat s videos on YouTube from the VWC. Soaking up obeys to keep the attacks at min 2, using bring it to pull back models that were out in front, she just did a ton of work. And I think on top of that he may have done both claim jump and half of hidden martyrs with her (I was falling asleep so I'm not sure about that part). Guild used to be a hyper aggressive faction, so their design this edition is very hard to understand, and has been a tough adjustment for a lot of us long time guildies. I'm still amazed a

  15. She is the reason you can eat up aggression. She will not die and will protect your key models. And she will do it with the positives if you are smart enough. Bring It is invaluable, dont understimate it. And she has the best "I got Your Back" in the game.

  16. She is better. I regret not mentioning her as an OOK pick on the Lucius podcast. Easy access to +es on all opposed duels, df6, easy access to armour+2 and laugh off, hard to kill, take the hit (which she won't even have to move for with Laugh Off), excellent bonus action, decent attack, good grit if she ever gets that low. 10 health. The list goes on and on.

  17. I think, as you said maniacal, it highly depends on whether you are choosing side or not. When playing from right top corner against the enemy on the left bottom corner blasts and big tough models to block more walk lines come to mind. Emissarry with his wall and blast attack seems awesome. In addition I probably would pick Von schtook for more blasts and Valle to block them in there... Playing the other direction looks definitely harder...

  18. I think I would try to go for Von Schtook, with Emissary to add another model with flight & the movement aura. That way with the emissary & valedictorian, I got 2 flight models, with research assistant & emissary, 2 +1Mv aura. Depending on the schemes & the ennemy crew I would go for necropunks to leap or undergraduates to push von schtook more (I would still take one to help VS get around the train.) Though if the strategy & schemes really don't have much killing but are more about moving all over the place, then I could very well go for Molly, with at least 2 nig

  19. Maybe it's a mistake, but, to be honest, i don't consider Terrain while choosing a Master. The only exception is Seamus of course. But as for this exact map - you are right, it could be a pain to get stuck in bottom-left corner. I would say Urami and Transmortis will still feels good because of Incorporial, Flying and By Your Side placing. With such terrain heavy maps i like to choose Vendetta with Incorporial model. Onryo in Urami crew for example. Just hit once in correct time, score 1VP and use terrain to hide for the rest of the game.

  20. I'm of the opinion that henchmen-led crews are at a noticeable disadvantage compared to Masters. So for me, the only reason to pick Wrath would be to do the CR7. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean you need everyone, but I've never done a CR7 crew and not taken the whole ensemble. If you did want to cut some of them, Greed is quite situational. The others have wider utility, but either Sloth or Gluttony could be another stone-saving reduction. In a CR7 crew, keeping everyone alive is a bit of an issue. There's not a ton of healing, and except for Wrath and Envy, they're all relying on

  21. What do people reckon about this board? What sort of crews does it inspire you to take? Which part of the map do you think you'd want to deploy in? When I played it, I had Molly in the top right corner. Claim jump was a scheme, and the centrepoint falls in that nice clear area in the centre. Dead Rider and Archie gave me some solid maneuverability, but getting out of my deployment zone was difficult. Molly got a nice vision boost from the hill, which was awesome. If you are the attacker, you can be pretty flexible with who you select into this board. If you're the defende

  22. I've talked any this in another thread, but the Hunter can drag someone towards you to get them into the 8", as can a field reporter with a convulsions trigger. Using it with a guardian is interesting. Toss something away, then land a trap next to them to hold them in place.

  23. This is an after-action report for a game played on Vassal on 08/08/2020. It was a 50ss game between myself and a player going by Master of Melee on discord. The scenario was generated using the Malifaux App. Set Up Vassal Map - Forest of the Loom Wedge Deployment Recover Evidence Claim Jump, Vendetta, Sabotage, Hidden Martyrs, Breakthrough I announced Guild, he announced Arcanists. I announced Hoffman, and he announced Mei Feng. The crew I built was: 4ss Hoffman Mechanical Attendant Joss Phiona Gage w/ Lead Lined Coat 3x Hunter His crew:

  25. Man, I'm just slipping this week haha Uhm well, I guess I'll start with Sonnia, since itll be quick. Run Manos and they'll be sad xD The crew itself is aggressive and Thralls hit stupidly hard, but any sort of movement tricks to move outside of demise ranges or ya know, Manos, it'll go relatively easily I feel. Oh and condition removal! Nurse works great since its burning and she has Assist. My most played against Guild master, Hoffman, is known for his mostly crew wide armor +2 and at the start of his turn, handing out power tokens. Power tokens give a + to a duel or a suit. His cre

  28. Caedrus, reporting in! First up for this month, I completed the Ashes and Dust trio! I messed about with a new NMM Brass scheme. I like the colours, but I butchered some of the painting. I liked the contrast, and the temperature contrast, though. Secondly, a bigger project, the complex and vast Talos! Everything about this was time consuming. The subassemblies, losing two pieces, the purple-Soulstone base, and lots of glazing. The NMM isn't perfect, but I'm happy with the result. So, that's my July - sorry I haven't given much feedback, but it's

  31. This is my 3rd topic and its all about necromancers! I’ll upload my progress on ressurectionists slowly but surely. I started to paint the faction with the first miniature I bought for malifaux - Seamus the Red Chapel killer. Seamus is one of the best (in my opinion) when it comes to the model itself (just look at his nasty smile) and fluff. NOTE: I actually repaint Seamus as I didn't liked my previous result (painted last year). The old one looked like this: The new version felt faaaaar better, especially his face. Next coming are: - Carrion Emissary

  39. Well this was left on the wayside. Oops. Here's what I painted in March, starting with Malifaux: Tanuki and Minako Rei & pals. And for that Battlelore project I did rest of the good-guy archers: I also did a few miscellaneous minis: Daughter, by Vae Victis Miniatures. Bought from a 3d printing company. Mini itself was a bit rough due to print quality. I believe this is an old metal Imperial Guardsman from GW. No idea if it had a more characterful name at some point. Weird pose. I quite enjoyed painting the rough 'n stark look.

  40. Just wanted to share the Karkinoi I just finished painting. Hopefully, if I neglect all sleep (Or give up my job) I'll have all my TOS models ready to go soon. My Malifaux meta is now officially resurrected, with fresh new blood joining in too. Hoping that getting some well painted TOS on the table might spark some Earthside addiction :} If anything else, I'd like to bring some renewed attention to how incredible the models for TOS are...

  41. Finally some new models done - Domadores de cadaveres! These models were a little bit intimidating to paint as I love the sculpts and really wanted to do them justice. But I am happy with the results. I added some freehand painting on the scarf to make it a bit more interesting.

  44. Marcus and his crew is at least pro-union sometimes, and Myranda turns into Grootslang, so they all hang out here. Edit: oh by the way... the gimmick on this crew is hair that's turning purple. The snake guy and Grootslang has very little hair, so the snake has his tounge turning purple, and Grootslang has purple shadows.

  45. While eagerly awaiting new Wyrd models, I took a detour with a Warcry warband. Love the throwback to the minis that originally got me in the game, and made it an exercise in painting, I’ll never touch a GW game again - so they’ll probably get sold off quite soon. Enjoy - I did.

List of non-keyword specific Arcane Reservoir: Outcast: Hannah Lovelace, 10ss Explorer's Society: Winston Finnigan, 8ss Bayou: Big Brain Brim, 8ss Arcanist: any minion (average cost 6*+2ss for upgrade), 8ss. It seems more like Hannah is the outlier more than Winston is OP. *(27 individual non-totem Arcanists minions costs totalled 160 ÷ 27 = 5.925; rounded up to 6)
