  1. Caedrus, reporting in! First up for this month, I completed the Ashes and Dust trio! I messed about with a new NMM Brass scheme. I like the colours, but I butchered some of the painting. I liked the contrast, and the temperature contrast, though. Secondly, a bigger project, the complex and vast Talos! Everything about this was time consuming. The subassemblies, losing two pieces, the purple-Soulstone base, and lots of glazing. The NMM isn't perfect, but I'm happy with the result. So, that's my July - sorry I haven't given much feedback, but it's

  2. Hi, I'm Chris from aforementioned podcast. I actually tried a full foundry list last week (mah, lass, brin, sparks, porkchop, 3 X survivors, SS miner) last Wednesday. So much potential in this, I had one survivor focus shoot a skeeter in cover then another one teleport over and punch it to finish it off. The survivors were great at pulling my models in and out of position. Porkchop is a beast in combat and sparks putting bombs in bellys really puts your opponent off attacking certain models. Managed a 4-3 win over zipp by just killing stuff before it activated and scheming later. Definitely a

  4. We have an insanely good Guild player in our meta, who I've only managed to beat once and that was running Kirai into Basse. My thoughts so far: I'll never run Jack into Guild again. Whatever master you face they'll probably bring in Pale Rider and Lone Marshal which will, collectively ruin the tormented's day. I found Reva and Seamus are also not ideal picks as both really need those corpse markers which the Marshals mess with. Exorcists are a problem for Ressers. They've shown up with many different Masters so always make them a target priority. If your opponent declares Sonnia, bring a

  5. Good news everyone! After some success and growing interest of the community on my bayou gremlins painting topic I decided to share my progress on LJ and her butt-hurting department with ya all. So LJ are coming to punish ressers and undead things. I’ll upload all my progress on painting marshal keyword and will appreciate your support folks!

  6. After listening to the latest Harl'e'faux podcast, I've been wondering about the effectiveness of Foundry models in the Tricksy keyword. Anyone have any experience with all the Scrap to Pit/Pit to Scrap Ride The Rails shenanigans and copious amounts of 14" range guns they would like to share?

  7. With GST Having : Armor +1 Shielded +1/+3 most turns Regeneration 2 The Final Veil Terrifying 11 Triggless heal on attacks Is pretty tanky for 8 stones if you ask me. I'm not sure if I know of another 8 stone packet that has that many layers of defense while offering so much utility. They make a 1 of Masks a friendly 6 inch push, which usually results in me never having to take a walk action with Reva. It's also not a damage flip. I took Barbaros with Parker last night and he ended up taking 4 health away from my master for a moderate flip when I

  8. I though about bringing him many times vs Guild pre-errata in order to stop the rider with the only stunned in faction, but I always found better choices for 8ss. He can get any suit, by discarding a card. Except Parker and Jack (for what I've read about it), Outcast is a faction that has to treasure their cards. Other models have Tools for the Job, which allows you to cycle, gives you the suit and doesn't even cost you a : action. And then, there's Bishop, that gains the suit because he's cool AF

  14. Seeing as Presto-Chango is only on Collette & Ever-Changing Wind is only on Wokou Raiders, when would it not be an enemy scheme marker?
    1 point
  15. Yeah, Wyrd has called them both Bloodhounds. This is a low quality pic, but here's the only clear image of Ullr I've seen so far: I'm cool with them too. Luna and Penelope are among my favorite Totems for hitting that "intelligent, loyal partners" sweet spot, which Ullr and Artemis look to be doing as Enforcers.

  16. I said a Good Doggo list. None of the dead or flea-ridden type! But all those dogs, plus Ferdinand Vogel (because a (were)wolf is just a big dog, right?) would be a fun crew! Even if it wouldn't get much done!

  17. With the announcement of new starter box crews for each faction, I got to thinking about the old starter box, and wondered: do you think the new Guild & Neverborn starter boxes will bring in four more Asylum & Half-Blood models in their respective boxes? Would be coolif they did!

  18. Thank you! They were bought - don't know the name o the store but Mr @Scatterbrain should be able to help here. I cut the largest two in half to have more markers. Each was sprayed with a layer of Satin Varnish with some glazes of turquoise in the recessess + light drybrush of pure white to pick up the edges. I thought 10 would be going overbboard but ended up using all of them at one point in my last Eurypides game.

  20. I've used a lot of Foundry stuff with Mah before the nerfs - Survivors benefited immensely from the Focus as their gun is super sad when it does weak damage but very nice when it does something else. The range is also crazy! The Mah nerf arguably hit them the hardest, though. Rail Walking, at least in my experience, isn't nowhere near what it is with Mei Feng due to the lack of Metal Gamins but it is still useful for more "surgical" teleports around as opposed to the Mei Feng crew zooming every which way. Having several Foundry models however makes Rail Walking certainly more potent. Also

  23. @Gaston I do definitely think Myranda is worth her cost, its just a matter of how she's used on the table. She kind of wants to be everywhere and with only 2 actions it can be a lot to ask. Her healing is bonkers and Its nice to get a bit of card cycle early when next to Marcus. She can dip from combat by mutating into something else... She's pretty sturdy with the Huntress aura and 6s for everything. A solid 9ss henchman, IMO. @Ogid I'm still learning when and how to play Marcus into GG1. Its definitely a lot more difficult and with the nerfs to his no triggers on his call of the wild

  25. For most terrain that's true, but sight lines between two models that cross blocking terrain, where either model is within that terrain's shadow and that model has Size equal to or less than the terrain's Height , the sight lines are blocked even if LoS would normally be permitted.

  26. Yep or this I'd be fine with. They just don't feel good at 8ss, to be honest if they came down to 7ss but stayed as they are I think they'd be ok The models are so cool, I'd love to be able to put 2 of them on the table regularly

  28. Line of sight is needed to the dropped marker (as a side effect of the action having in the range). It's going to be the same situation that Mechanical Rider can't drop the scheme marker centered under another Sz 3 50mm model because there's no line of sight to the marker.

  31. These two pieces are more practical, and I think look a lot better. They've a good playable area and mix of natural surfaces. Not quite sure what the best way to paint stalagmites. Seems like with a zenithal light they'd have no shadow or highlight and I'm not sure directional lighting works for terrain. Think I'll break them up with some moss or something on future. You don't actually see that in nature, but I figure these caverns have been opened up by mining, so stuff from the surface can get down in there.

  32. First piece. Was originally going to have an overhang and water-feature but the warped base ruined so I went for something simpler. Was considering using some of greenstuffworld's spider serum on parts like the arch, but it's very fragile and probably not suited to terrain. Main thing I learned from this piece is that large expanses of rock are surprisingly hard to make paint interestingly, so I should have used some other material to break it up.

  33. Hey all! While we're all excited for the GenCon sale, here's this lovely piece of art from our talented Outcat friend Krig. Here we can see some colourful characters gathering around a campfire, which just happens to burn inside one of them, to have some beers and discuss how the M3E's been hard on some people.

  35. I stopped working on this about 3 years ago but a friend of mine started making his own table so I'm getting back into the game and need to finish this. Probably need to make a few more walk ways and then make some fog banks using Polyfil that will count as dense w/o movement penalty. I just started adding moss today and have alot more to do. Any and all feedback and criticism welcome!

  36. Made some Outcast strategy/scheme markers (they look cool but aren't great as scheme markers because they poke up. Perfect for Symbols though). If I was more skilled painter I'd try to do the blood splatter but just yellow roses for now. And then bought some Moai statuettes for Leylines off Etsy.

  37. For example, consider this line of play later in the game: Charge 7", rampage another 5 inches (hitting an ally if you can't otherwise force the suit), tendril an enemy off a symbol of authority and claiming it. Niche plays like that can win games. It is just seems like a solidly flexible model at every stage of the game. I'm having trouble thinking of a stage of the game where it doesn't have something to contribute (unlike my grave golem which can easily become wholly irrelevant if misplayed). Edit: and of course note that if you don't need to tendril, wild hunt can make his r

  38. Definitely! I think Reva herself shouldn't be touched or he can become too strong easily. But currently, I feel more inclined to hire OOK or versatile models than to invest SS on half-efficient models like Draugr, Lampads, Mourners and Vincent. Restless Spirit is okay and Shieldbearers, even if they're a bit under the curve, they're playable. Wanyudo is good.

  39. Fair enough! I do think we should be wary of overbuffing, though. We have 7-8 solidly competitive masters, and are overall a very strong faction.

  40. None of those pulse out focus. A shieldbearer often gives out 5 focus on relevant models in a game for me (3 on turn one, 2 later on). And then it proceeds to give out extra moves to otherwise slow models like grave golem. And does some great stuff with pyre markers. Rabble risers on the other hand I have largely stopped using (although partially as the other options at other costs are just better). Not sure about Drowned. They have movement 4, but Im sure they have their place. Doxies are pretty good as well, though. Nurses and undergraduates are certainly up there!

  41. The slower model, non-unimpeded, can't ignore models while moving, and can't move up a model in your crew, is a better alpha striker? Doubtful. Especially if you're against Thunders or Ressers where Lantern of Souls is readily available. Take both. It's good enough for any other combination of Emissary, KIlljoy and the Rider, only now we have a beater option that doesn't have to worry about the hazardous terrain that the Emissary makes, or the hazardous of any enemy crews(aside from Kaeris) What world do you live in where terrifying 12, a 3/4/6 damage track, predatory instincts

  42. Ever changing wind isn't after resolving the action, it's after the scheme marker is placed. It would happen after the scheme marker is placed, before resolving the next effect generated by the action.

  43. Moving adaptive evolution to an ability on mutation upgrades instead of on chimera models would help. That way upgrades won't get stuck on a model until it dies. Those that currently have adaptive evolution could gain something along the lines of "shed skin" (to replace the 'lost' ability), where they can discard a mutation upgrade to remove conditions. Both of these help out Arc Marcus as much as Neverborn though, but if attuned cats are the only thing making arc Marcus 'strong' then that's ok.

  45. Ty @Fixxer for the feedback; I'm glad to see some of my thoughts are justified and it's not just me sucking with Marcus XD. I also think he is under the curve in NVB, he takes too much effort, thoughts and luck to work. I've not played the ARC version in GG1, but that should be a bit better, Attuned cats are still a thing; but he should have definitely noted the charge plus miner changes there. I've thought a bit about this before... the main problem isn't beasts, most of them are fine models; in both factions most of them they are played with their other respective masters regularly with

  46. My shield bearers never end up very far down field. They spend to much time moving others or starting near others to Take the Hit. Mourners... well, they're Mourners... Even at 7 they are a hard sell with stats of 5 and df4.

  47. Yes, we only know 4 masters, and two of them are already out. We don't even know all the other keywords names, let alone the masters, it seems most likely that English Ivan and Lord Cooper are likely to be released at or near explorer release. (on the basis that hyping up Ivan now, and then not selling him for another year seems a bad use of hype)

  48. Considering they have shown a good deal of the Umbra artwork, English Ivan and his totem's artwork and the artwork for Dewalt I would be confident in saying that Umbra/DUA will be one of the earlier keywords to be released.

  49. Out of curiousity, why do you say that? It isn't hindered by Fae terrain, and it gives one more option for ruthless to the crew. Those two things alone seem like pretty big factors. EDIT: Not to mention the sequence of rougarou pushes malisaurus and moves forward, malisaurus activates and pushes rougarou forward and then has two AP to spare is pretty efficient movement up the board. EDIT2: Plus early game he can lashing tendrils your models up the board, and then late game he can give your models + crows (for into thorns all over the place), and it gives him a built in rampage.
