  1. Inspired by @TeaCrusader's magnificent Rail/Metal Golem last month, I have decided to try to paint one of my own. Pledging for 10 ss. The April Challenge 1. Use separate water pots if alternating between typical paints, and those that are metallic/pearl. Otherwise you can end up with little metallic flakes on parts where you didn't want them. 2. When using dropper bottles from lines such as Vallejo, Reaper and Andrea, don't squeeze the bottle harder if the nozzle is clogged. It's a good way to waste paint when the lid pops off and half the bottle contents go with it. Use the end of a paper clip to unclog it instead. 3. There are often more cost-effective alternatives to buying small containers of products marketed towards miniatures painters, such as from stores that sell fine art supplies. Similarly, larger jars of scenery texture paste for dioramas can be more economic than small pots of base detail. For example, compare the price at your hobby store for a 200mL jar of Vallejo Ground Texture: Snow to how much you will end up paying for 8x 24mL pots of Gouge Workshop's Valhallan Blizzard.

  2. Done by my 6 year old. We both did one but it was determined that hers was better than the one done by the colorblind dad using blunt crayons (still don't know how I ended up using the crayons), so hers would be the one that got uploaded. Thank you for doing this, giving us another option of creativity in this time of lock down was very much appreciated.

  7. I finished painting every Wildfire model a week ago, so I'll start out by posting those. My plan with them was to practice OSL, and make a crew that only has the light that they're bringing with them. As a result, some of the models are very dark from some angles. I added the tufts so my opponent won't miss a model if they see it from the dark side. Kaeris from the dark side. I'm currently working on pyre markers, and corpse and scrap markers.

  8. Not wanting to double up on anything but apparently 2 pictures was too much for one post and I thought you guys might get a kick out of seeing my son's tribute! Without further ado, I proudly present his masterpiece, I think we can all agree that the talent skipped me and went to him!

  9. Hey Wyrdos, This week, we are celebrating the first ever March 32nd, and in order to properly entertain ourselves, we needed to clear out some warehouse space so we can celebrate in a safe and distant manner. While cleaning up, we found some old library books that needed to be returned, some of which were dated with weird symbols instead of numbers. Luckily for us, it turns out that March 32nd is Book Amnesty Day at our local library. Plus, Waldo loves going there; supposedly the feral cats there are the tastiest. His visit was short-lived, though. Apparently, the new guy there gave Waldo the creeps. Before he snuck out, he did manage to take a photo (yep, Waldo has a camera - we’re just as amazed as you are), and this time, it seems that a picture is worth a lot more than a thousand words. I can’t blame Waldo for booking it. I’m speechless, too. What are your theories? Let us know!

  10. Crayola crayons (non-digital). Been so long since I last used them, think they may have dried out a bit after 20+ years. Don't remember it taking so much effort to get the color to apply. It is now proudly displayed on the fridge.

  13. I hope to be able to finish this cre in April, three minis left... In many ways Malifaux's Euripides epitomizes the idea of social distancing. He spent ages in isolation in the distant mountain areas before returning to join the Neverborn again. Remember - be like Euripides and Thoon - keep the advised distance. Don't be like Pukeworm or... Well, how low can you get if Pukeworm is any point of reference?
