  2. Do it with Mounted Guard. Let them die and be replaced with Guard Patrols, then replace the Guard Patrols with Death Marshals and laugh while your opponent starts swearing at you. They still won't be good, but at least they'd be amusing!

  3. Leveticus traded his grim destiny to Zoraida for a fresh cruller and the ability to never forget Rusty Alyce's birthday (thrice is embarrassing enough, thank you). Zoraida gave the destiny to Zipp. Zipp dropped it somewhere over the Bayou. So in the near future, expect to see a sour-faced Gautreaux Gremlin in "Man in Black" attire, riding a mystical, flaming, skeletal hell-pig. The Fifth "Horseman," Stagnation. I made this up.

  4. Haven't seen a lot of folks talking about the stories as some were worried about spoiling it for others (thank you for being considerate!) - so I thought I would create a thread and see what folks thought of some of the stories and the arcs/characters that were presented. For anyone reading - expect spoilers.

  5. There’s definitely that weird spot where I am never quite sure which books are now on general release and which were already read by GenCon orderers. I got Guild/Arcanist/Neverborn from my FLGS [USA] so those are probably freed from the courtesy call for inaccessibility [again, for the USA]. Loved the style of the sepia tone illustration for each story, especially the look of Ironsides in that style. That was a great and unexpected splash of art. Also a nice nod to the masters who haven’t had updated art yet. Against all expectations I think I liked the Neverborn stories best!

  6. I've tried him a few times - I think he is solid, in that he is a very mobile model with good damage. His attack is the best for raw damage of all the Riders, and the ability to reliably drop 3 or 4 damage blasts can be brutal against clustered enemies if you can set up the right positioning. However, if the enemy isn't clustered, his attack trigger is basically useless, while the other Riders can get great effect from card draw, conditions, forced movement. I also think the others have far better Revel abilities than he does - I've yet to get any use from the ability outside of the top e

  8. Lol. Not the best way to start interacting with the comunity imo... there are a lot of good factions/crews out of there and a lot of mechanics that will destroy a player who don't know how to play versus it. Wait until you try to man fight the unkillable Yan-Lo, the "your-defensive-tech-give-me-powa!" Shenlong, the "pulse-for-the-win" Pale rider, the "do-you-really-want-to-get-near-of-that-idol?" Zoraida, the "you-can't-touch-me" Colette crew or a good Viktorias/Nekima alpha strike among other very powerful mechanics. @Adran gave you very good tips about how to face Terrifying. If

  10. Hello Wyrdos, So with the release of M3E behind us (and still in front of us in some ways) I wanted to get back to the job of improving the Henchmen and Player experience. This includes the M3E Henchmen Program revamp we've all been excited (and patient) for. Id like to reboot something we've done in the past and on a near monthly basis id like to shine a light on the people in our community that help make our game amazing. That could be a store, Henchmen, or a player of our games. So with that said I give you our first Community Spotlight for M3E... Tom aka @Skitt_Happens in the

  11. Hey Wyrdos, This week, Waldo made a new friend at the local Harvest Festival. Together, they went through a corn maze, picked some pumpkins, got their faces painted, haunted an abandoned barn, burned down that barn, went on a hayride, haunted that hayride, burned down that hayride, and then tasted some freshly made cider. They got along together swimmingly. If you’d like to meet Waldo’s new friend, the best way to do so is on the table. It’s a great time to mix it up and try out variant game mode. That’s right. We’re getting into the haunting holiday spirit with a special Malifaux Th

  13. Basse seems to be the way to go on this. The clockwork traps would do a great job of delaying forces for a turn or two as well. On the subject of Dashel, my view has shifted slightly. Some Genius figured out that The Dispatcher can use "Consolidate power" to push a friendly minion towards him. Then with the mask trigger, since guard models count him as a scheme marker, you can place an enemy scheme marker next to him and he would take a damage instead of being removed. So he can walk walk and then use that on a minion near him and set Dashel up for a good summon... Can't believe I didn't

  14. Basicaly what they covered, the other riders have more tricks and powerful pulses; this one have a good mele attack. It's solid, and one of the few models in the faction with an easy to damage flips, so nice to have versus Res and its hard to wound. Very good with Titania as it is unimpeded and may help them to move around (that crew is slooow). Nothing too fancy, but get the job done.

  15. Well it's early planning stages. The important thing is the flaming hell-pig skeleton. We can stick whoever we want on top of it. Maybe a hooded Gremlin, maybe a creepy child Gremlin, maybe a DEAD Gremlin, rotting away with mushrooms and moss to represent death by stagnation. He literally lazied himself to death.

  16. More dispatcher fun - use a Sergeant's bonus action to place him elsewhere for Dashel to summon off of him. If you have the 5 of masks you could consolidate power to move another minion and get an enemy scheme marker in a better position

  17. Place is a movement effect, so its else where in the rules (Page 15 electronic, I think). A marker being under another model isn't against the marker rules, so it should be fine for the scheme marker. Although The Ice pillar will have to follow the rules for moving terrain (page 36) as well which would stop you being able to put it underneath a model.

  18. Consolidate power is minion only isn't it? he is an enforcer. You can do it if he is within 2" of the target of Consolidate power, but he can't just do it by himself

  20. "Bring it" a model into a mine field, let them take damage. They attack you (from bring it), they take damage, then you attack them and push them away, they take damage. That's before you add in potentially 2 from Black blood (assuming they hit you during the bring it action). that's 5 points of 1 damage and the damage flip from the attack, with you still able to move barbaros and hit someone else (from the shove aside trigger). That's pretty efficient damage levels.

  23. In answer to your question, I don't think terrifying is a problem. It does require you to change your game plan to deal with it though. As do most defensive abilities. So if you just make 4 attacks without the hand to support having to pass those extra checks, then yes, it doesn't surprise me that you only hit once. Don't do that! (Especially when every failed test could heal Teddy!) Maximise your resources. Spend an action focusing before you attack a terrifying model, so that when you do have to cheat the terrifying flip, you are getting a good attack and quite likely to have a che

  24. Haha! Oportunistic is one of the best abilities of Pandora! It affects every condition and even works when other models attacks her! Note that when self-loathing is used, the one attacking is Pandora not the Doc; that attack doesn't apply Precise. The Brewmaster or Pandora are examples of masters with mechanics that counter his Poison. In those matches it would be better going light on Poison and focus in other parts of their strengths. Just having 1 Poison is equivalent to Regen+2 (1 per catalyst and 1 at the end of the turn). Versus the brewmaster for example blood poisoning can be u

  26. An update: The other day during my tourney dryrun, I took a chance and brought a DM recruiter. (Miss Terious on a 40mm base is a nice sub.) Enemy was Misaki so I figured it'd be a good model to have. Worked very well. Turn 1, Misaki buried and I immediately activated the DM Recruiter. She focused and fired at Misaki, did 5 damage. This had a serious impact on my opponent, as he either unburied Misaki immediately after burying her, or refused to bury her altogether. This meant Misaki spent much more time on the table exposed to Lady Justice and the Judge. Definitely don't think t

  27. Careful with this tho, Pandora isn't an easy prey and have a few tricks you want to know before attacking, thinking "I'll just walk into her bubble and cut her to pieces" is the perfect recipe to get owned hard. Start outside of her buble but hide the Doctor from her LoS (with a Kentauroi or a FC for example) or she may force the good doctor to activate before he is ready to make his move. You want to deal with Poltergeist first or all the ruthless in the world won't work versus her. Be sure to heal to full and bring some SS to reduce damage, the second you target Pandora with an attack s

  35. Of course the delays are annoying, but I cannot understand all the storys, that people quit playing Malifaux because of the delays. I play a game because I like the rules, the miniatures, the community, the setting and the storys. If you quit a game just because you can't buy some products right now and you have to wait, I don't know how seriously you wanted to play that game. Because a tabletop always means a lot of time invest - learning the rules, the meta, building and maybe painting the miniatures and so on. I don't change a game like my underwear. In my area, there are som

  36. Weirdly I'm trying him with sonnia atm. That way and witchlings that die can become death marshals while I then summon more witchlings. The spacing is a bit tough but the death marshal recruiter becomes a big target. So between thrall, recruiter, samuel and sonnia my opponent has harder choices of clear targets while the other models do some damage too

  37. The "if you remove all 1-4s" is the issue. The simple deck simulator that I tried writing just did a simple routine: Generate a deck, run lucid dreaming X number of times, do Gamble Y times if above average cards need to be saved, putting an arbitrary deck shuffle in every Y lucid dreaming executions. and then did that a few thousand times tracking the average value of the deck+discard pile, and tracking best and worst results. Not trying to do anything fancy, just a quick 10,000 trials each... (I believe these numbers include using Stitched periodically to put high cards

  39. Also, to add to the counters for Terrifying, Blasts (one Terror test isn't that bad, if you can hit 2-4 models with the Action), Pulses, and Shockwaves. Bayou have a decent enough amount of access to Blasts. Ophelia (w Firecracker Upgrade) and Merris, as well as Wong, have you covered for Shockwaves. It's hard to search for Pulses, but Somer and Make Me Proud and Pig Eating Grin seem like a decent combination. Somer blows up a Bayou Gremlin, draws a card, which Somer can use for the Terrifying on the shoot action or mitigation of the discard, or can B2C if it's not good enough.

  40. Dreamer has other ‘fast’ stuff. Like teleporting spiders, Daydreams moving models around, Serena punching people from a distance. Chompy getting teleported into melee from half a table away. Or how ‘bout Nekima and her Infernal Airforce ignoring terrain and other troublesome stuff. That’s an in-yo’-face kind of speed. Or check out how Lucius’ elites prefer taking actions out of turn, piling them all, where they’re needed the most.
    0 points
  41. That sounds promising! He'd hace to target someone else and have them move to within 2" if him, because it's the trigger that does the scheme marker thing but I think it would work

  42. When a movement specifies "up to", that means that the model specified as doing the movement gets to choose how far the movement is. In the case of Toss, it says "Push the target up to 10" in any direction." When the rules talk about interrupting a push, interruptions to a push are involuntary. If a push attempts to go through impassable terrain*, a model that cannot be moved through, or off the table, the push gets interrupted. (* An incorporeal model ignores terrain while moving. So an incorporeal model can be pushed through impassable terrain, but the push can't stop with the

  43. Adran has some great tips above, but for a general tip about the Dreamer: his crew loves it when your own resources (like cards in hand) are struggling. But if you can turn the corner and pressure his resources, he really struggles. He is not resource efficient at all (card wise, stacking focus, scheming... It all is a bit inefficient other than lots of numbers and hitting hard). Aim for fewer, harder hitting attacks (which focus helps with). Also don't waste your time throwing attacks willy-nilly at targets. If you don't have enough resources to take down Teddy, maybe shoot a step lower.

  44. True for the post, sorry. So can you move this post to the good section on the forum ? Thanks. And, you are right for the focus condition, I just never think to do it. The positif flip, will be for terrifying + duel + damage, right ? But, I still think this crew is too OP, Terrifying, armor, incorporel, shield... Too much.

  45. mmm, I'll think about it a bit more... If I play with a Henchman leader, I always include it; but not with a Master leader. In a Master crew I could include the effigy as a cheap 4 SS model that helps with reposition, crappy schemer or as a cheap Eldritch holder. But there is a difference between fitting 2 SS into a list to upgrade a model you are going to field anyway and fitting 4 or 6 for a model you don't have to include... maybe it's some kind of psychological effect

  47. Maybe not reducing, but keeping them low. He should had been packaged differently in M3 to let NVB players get it without a full core from other faction imo, specially considering how the keywords works in M3. Alone or with some versatile-Swampfiend for example... I don't mind getting some models I won't use from a box, but just 1 model out of a core is too much (and the others are unplayabe for a NVB player unless that player switchs to Bayou and get extra models) Imagine Bad Juju would have also the Fae keyword and it were in the Titania core box in the place of Aestlin (who would be pa
