  1. Starting off January with a bang! Didn't finish the rest of last month's WIP's on New Year's, but got them done tonight (same WIP picture as finishing picture from December) And then finished pictures of Manos, Asura, Mourners x2, Zombies x5 And then, for the rest of the month, working on the Bayou half of Backdraft and a Root beer Whiskey Golem.

  2. I can’t speak for anyone else, but, you can strike my name off the list of ‘people who left and prove something is wrong.’ I loved Wyrd when I left. Still do. Just wanted to work on new things and make new contacts. They were doing just fine.

  3. All you people with finished models are making me feel nervous. Just had to check the date to make sure it wasn't near the end of the month already. Keep up the good work!😀

  4. To be fair the sky did fall when I left. Very small piece. Mostly over Eastern Europe. *** I can’t really say I would worry about the state of a company I don’t work for. When the game comes out if it’s good, I’ll buy it. If it’s not, I won’t. And everything I’ve seen of M3E so far looks amazing! Can’t wait for it. Best of luck, Mason! You did awesome work!

  6. Wyrdos, As some of you may already know, Mason has decided to pursue his own endeavors. Here at Wyrd, we’re all thankful for the work that he’s contributed to our games over the years. Whether in lore or design, his involvement added unparalleled depth and nuance to our worlds, and we’re grateful for the impact he had upon Through the Breach, Malifaux, and The Other Side. We wish him the absolute best as he moves forward in his career. On a personal note, I learned a lot from Mason in the two years that I spent working with him. I’ll miss his insight and humor around the of

  7. I am not choosing anything... The announcement for Mason’s leave was not done by Mason . Have I missed something?

  8. So you're choosing to not believe the reasons that everyone that has left has given for why they left? Because it's very much not pointing to the sky falling.

  9. Basing's my least favorite part as well. I've started using pre-made bases and base inserts for exactly that reason. I've been OK with my limited options so far but I suspect that will change once I move into Bayou models. When I've used dried-out sticks for logs and fallen branches in the past, I've always painted them because I think the paint helps tie the stick together with the rest of the model. It looks more in-scale somehow. Give it a shot on a sketch model when you feel experiment-y, see what you think. @bedjy Nice work. Painting white is a pain, and you've made yours look quite

  11. Best of luck, Mason! For what it's worth I think you did a bang-up job handling the M3E beta.

  12. Though we might have had our disagreements in the past, there is no ill-will on my part. Good luck with your future ventures Mason, and thanks for all the work on what amounts to a marvellous game.

  14. Nope we just don’t see the same point that’s all. People come and go that’s business for sure. It is unusual to see some people working in SME leaving before the completion of their project but it happens nevertheless. However, for any SME, so many key people leaving within such a short period time is often not a sign of good health and/or management.

  15. Jumping in on minion level this year to keep my malifaux models getting painted in the lull between m2e and m3e and my failure to finish last year. This is month my pledge is a single saboteur at 4ss with stretch goals of the second saboteur and fisimmons. Also will be trying to get some of my other game systems or random minis painted so will use stretch goals without stones scored for those. Should breeze in this month as they are 99% complete from last month but still have to bring out my paints and start

  16. I'll do a better quality photo of everything at the end of the month, but here's 2 Beckoners (6SS), Mr. Graves (8SS) and Mr. Tannen (6SS) for 26 more soulstones today, putting me at 44SS so far this month!

  17. Caedrus, checking in with a very brief update. I've started the washes, going with GW's own 'painting mastery in a bottle', Agrax Earthshade. While I'm here, I thought I'd mention a tip I picked up years ago.: When you do a wash, hang your miniature upside down to dry. If you assume that most miniatures are lit from above, it makes sense that the darkest shadows will occur directly below overhangs (noses, chins, breasts, brows). Hanging a mini upside-down makes the wash collect under those overhangs. Have a look at the image below (the left image shows it hanging, the rig

  19. So I have painted a few outcasts now and I think they deserve their own thread. So here it is! I just finished painting a Hired Swords crew for my friend Hannes Oh and here are a few outcast mercs I painted and posted earlier Killjoy My first entry in the Iron Painter contest of 2015 Johana counts as Freikorps Trapper

  20. So i've shifted my focus from the showgirls to the workers and agents of the M&SU. Here's my first mini for them - Kaeris. The picture was taken with the iphone but it turned out alright. The red is a little less warm irl but otherwise the colours show up pretty well though i went with a warm colour scheme and decided i wanted a red rocky desert look for the base. What do you think? i think i'll paint her student of conflict next and then gunsmiths and gamin.

  21. Michaud: Thanks a lot! It's a really cool model. Looks menacing on the table. Wobbly_goggy: Thanks Glad you like it! I like the metal Marcus minis, but the new rattler and sabertotth cerberus are improvements for sure. Here are the latest additions to the Marcus crew Another Marcus crew group shot: And an Arcanist group shot:

  22. Thanks a lot Lussuria Glad you think so. Viruk: Yeah they are It still looks tiny compared to the cousin yes, haha. Oh well, some tigers are small, some are big Been a while since I posted any miniature pics. I painted Marcus, Myranda and Jackalope during spring but never got around to taking pics of them until now. I tried to not worry too much about the result and just enjoy painting them. Sometimes I have a bit of "painter's perfectionism ocd" when painting miniatures and it can be really frustrating never being 100% happy with a miniature. Anyone else have this problem? I'm tryin

  23. He still has an account on the forums, and he was never the most engaging employee anyways. By engaging I mean he wasn't really one to just chit chat like Kai or Aaron were. He's usually pretty down to buisness/matter of fact with his posts. Not having a fair well message doesn't seem that out of character.

  24. You seem to be missing the point. Who was on the design team for 1st edition, 1.5, or M2E Malifaux at Wyrd and still works there? Who was on the design team for 1st or 2nd Warmachine at Privateer Press and still works there? Through the Breach is presumably going to be on its third lead developer. Let me go over and see how many different lead developers D&D has had.... You don’t swear a blood oath to serve a game system until you die. Aaron and Mason both have their credits in the TOS book, and I’d guess have contributions for a few books not yet released yet. They do

  25. The departures of Justin, Aaron and Mason who all contributed heavily to the game design and lore construction do not date back from 14 years ago if my memory is correct. Justin left just after book 4, Aaron did one book and left when M3E was announced and before TOS was on the shelves, while Mason is leaving 4 months after Aaron before the M3E is even finished. It does not look like business as usual at all. Anyway I am glad there was a 2 year overlap with Kyle and I wish he will continue his work for Wyrd at least until M3E is released :D. Except for the imho unimpressiv
