  1. I've been seeing a lot of talk lately about Seamus; a lot of questions, too. Like, is he viable in a competitive tournament, now? And the answers to most Seamus questions make me think that I run a very different Seamus than everybody else. So the purpose of this post is three-fold: to give a brief accounting of my experience with Seamus at Adepticon (I ran him all 5 rounds), for me to explain my play style, and to briefly explain how to get more out of one of his upgrades. I don't believe my way is best, just different, and, in many cases, more effective than the more traditional methods of r

  2. Hello Wyrdos, It is with some sadness, and some excitement, that today I announce that I am leaving Wyrd. My last day will be April 20th. Wyrd has been an amazing home to me and given me so many opportunities. I moved to Georgia to work at the company, and I don't regret a moment of it. I've gotten to work with some amazing people, and I've gotten to work on some great projects. I've learned a lot and grown as a designer, and I couldn't have done that if Wyrd didn't give me the freedom to try new things. And the reality is that Wyrd is so much more than a bunch of people sitting

  3. Autobots Roll Out! Lazarus brings me to 15ss shown so far. I've completed 1 "creature" and I'm working on another that you'll see before the month is out. I wasn't actively trying to go Optimus Prime on Lazarus but now that I'm done I'm reminded of him. I wanted some colored metallic to make him pop more than an all-metal look would and I thought thematically the Guild might have given him a red paint job with gold and brass for some bling.

  6. Not necessarily a henchman but anyone organising an event can set the rules as they please. You can voice your displeasure by not attending their events or try to sway them so they do it differently the next time. Just remember to express yourself carefully to them. Speaking from experience I can tell you that when you spend several hours of your free time and usually end up losing money on arranging a nice event any negative comments will hurt. Saying "I didn't care for this abd would prefer this" is one thing, calling their decisions ridiculous is a good way of making them potentially n

  8. @Jafar that’s a good summary of a lot of what I’ve experienced, and seen other Parker player so experienced as well. I’m keen to try him with Marlena soon (because she looks really solid) as well as the Desperate Mercs. ^ This, every time. Compared to other games I’ve played, the disparity in “tier” beteeen masters and models in Malifaux is small. Player skill is such a huge part of the game, both at crew selection and actual gameplay.

  9. Hello, I worked out washes and colour recovery on pledged models. Guess I have till to work some highlight, then job is done. I aready prepared the resin bases for the three Nephilims: pumpkin base on the left side. The bad thing is that, as you can see in the pic, my Malifaux models are not brilliant as Rumble Slam models I just finished to work out. Anyway, with Nephilims, I decided to reproduce skin paint scheme I used past month for my Barbaros. I put aside Nekima: She'll be matter for next weeks and may be next month challenge. I almost completed the "secret" mini for the

  11. The rules for stacking use an aura as an example of how stacking works. (pg 53 from the core rules. and see ten thunders FAQ) there is a lot of talk about multiple vent steam auras from mei feng to add multiple negative flips. EDIT sorry, it seems I wasn't clear. the aura stacks unless there is a reason it won't (like the action specifying it doesn't stack).

  12. Hi there, @nomoredroids. I agree on the new Seamus; I'm playing him a lot in the last months and have arrived on quite similar conclusions. My style is maybe a little bit different: on T1 my Seamus just move in position by the end of the turn to focus shoot off the board an enemy and summon a doxy/rotten belle from a zombie. From then onward he adapts to the moment: if I need him as a cannon, he focus shoot, if I need him into ne enemy crew, he goes balls deep or use belles to drag enemies in, ecc. The one thing he really needs in this build is models who Actively force w

Time for a mid-month WIP (rainy day, so the picture is a bit crap) I probably could have finished the dove already, but since all that's left on it is loads of tiny details, I've been putting it off for a while now. There's two weeks left, so it probably won't cause an issue. The performer on the other hand, I'm afraid will end up rather dull with the colour scheme I'll be going with. Does anyone have tip/tricks on how to make her look like a proper flashy showgirl?

  15. This year's event will take place on 10/11th November at a new venue in Melton Mowbray. This will offer a larger, fresher environment with more space, and is close to the town centre and a variety of accommodation. The venue is; Pera Business Park, Nottingham Road, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire LE13 0PB The new venue has space for around 180 players with space between boards and between tables, but initially we will release 132 142 tickets. Numbers will be limited by how much terrain can be secured, so I will be reaching out to the UK community to secure your terrain and boards for

  19. I used to run Sandeep with 7 stones every game, but I have found dropping to 5 isn't a problem if you are smart with resources. 5 is not ideal but the power in the rest of the crew is worth it I rarely stone for cards, not necessarily because Action Through Inaction but mostly because the commands in wind upgrade offers so many +ve flips that you rarely need better cards than you draw up, and stones are at a premium. Also Oxfordian mages are usually engaged by turn 3 so they can generate more soulstones, you can use focus to almost guarantee one each activation. But most games even o

  22. @prof_bycid I like the rusty and dirty style in your model, but I do not like at all the sculpture (medical automaton). That big hat on the top of a construct is non sense for me. May be I could change my mind as regard putting hand on a Medical Automaton..... my copy is till on the way to me. @Amdor Like the dove; probably some highlight or some rusted or oxide dot will help finishinbg it. I did estimate doves are tiny things, at least looking at them on the sprue. As regard the Performex you have plenty of options to get a flashy showgirl: what about some makeup?

  23. I really don't feel that is a fair way of looking at models getting nerfed / buffed. When Lenny was nerfed for instance it drastically lowered the power level of Ophelia and Mah (and Ophelia imo is only starting to kind of recover with wave 5 upgrades). The stuffed pig nerf also hit the pigapult. Lowering the cost of models like wild boars doesn't really fix them as opposed to lowering the cost of Guild Guards. Likewise you can make a model like the Govonor's proxy cost 1SS and it would still never be picked. Looking at previous erratas Nerfs (* are models tha

  24. Our local hench does something in a similar theme, just a different method. 1st, 2nd, 3rd just gets you the fancy certificate. After that, everyone flips from the same deck to determine what order you get a crack at the prizes in, with "favorite opponent" (as determined by vote), "fully painted" (run fully painted all day as defined by TO), and 1st place getting on the flip. If you manage to win multiple catagories, multiple for you. Ludvig's got it right though, likely your Henchman came from a GW background, and he's bringing some of that scoring with him. That's his right.

I've played the following list: Judge -debt to the guild Jury Death marshal recruiter Brutal effigy I won all of the 3 games and the crew worked really well. I was surprised with all of the synnergy between these models. Jury is just such a solid model at 8 stones. She does so many different things. With 5 stones i was also surprised by the judges resillience. Especially with jury and effigy heals as well as htk aura. Conclusion: this may not be the most opt

  29. 8 models (+1 upgrade) reduced in price, 3 models increased in price. Even adding in the previous errata you only add 1 model getting more expensive. I love this definition of Lots of nerfs and no love. Feel free to discuss away, I'm just not a fan of hyperbole on forums. I always though of Gremlins as one of the most damaging factions out there, with lots of high damaging attacks that let models kill above their points cost and be hard to defend against short of trying to kill the squishy model first. I can't even work out what you are talking about here, but it sounds gremliny t

  30. My few cents... - Lenny is a sad panda. With cost of 9 and Df4/Wp1 he is so fragile and prone to get hit by Wp attack so easily that his Toss doesn't compensate these issues. For this cost you can get something more useful especially since some masters (Mah, Ophelia, Zipp) already provide movement shenanigans for the crew - Pigapult is another sad panda. GG18 and Stuffed Piglets cost change killed this model. Especially if you need to take model from other faction to make it work with only one master. - Lovely Assistant - no need to comment. She will sit on the shelf till someth

  41. I’d like to see a few more Arcanist Beasts. Getting some models that are an alternative to the Sabretooth for Myranda to change into (fill a role other than melee beater) would be nice. I’d also like to see another Beast Henchman (right now it’s just Myranda and the Spawn Mother) for Marcus to hire when he’s running Venomancy. This Henchman doesn’t need to be Arcanist and could be from any faction.

  42. Hey all, so I was bored at work the other day and was thinking about what we could see for more models. We know from TTB that there's a ton of Gamin variety that aren't in the game yet (Darkness, Decay, Electric, Natural, Spirit, Terror, Infected, Light, and Water) and I came up with a few ideas for a couple of them! If I was to break down the kinds of Gamin we already have, I'd say it's basically Fire = ranged, Ice = buffs, Metal = tankiness, Poison = flex, and Wind = speed. So, if we break it down like that there's a couple holes that could get filled, such as: ----- Electri

  45. That list looks solid. Arcanist/Outcast: In about half the fluff stories about Rasputina it seems like she’s fighting Ramos. She’s always off doing her own thing instead of directly supporting either the Union or the brave Arcanist freedom fighters. Arcanist/Gremlins: My vote here would be Zipp since his crew box is really construct heavy and he and The Captain could bond over airships. Mostly it’s because I want an excuse to buy and paint Zipp’s crew and I don’t want to start collecting Gremlins.

  47. New models! First up is a model that everyone who plays Neverborn must have. No, not Nekima. I am not talking about a models that is so good that everyone must have it. I am talking about a model that is so cool that everyone must have it. TEDDY!! I love this model. It also must be one of the most iconic Malifaux models. Some time ago, I was explaining what Malifaux was to a person at my gaming club who didn't know what it was. I started talking about the setting, and suddenly he went "Wait, is this the game with the giant teddybear?". And to complement Teddy... Baby Kade.
