  2. The healing would occur at different points ( just like damage from a Trigger occurs at a different point to damage from the action) so this is 2 sources of healing.
  3. It's non-melee actions that are affected. Yes it will protect anyone regardless of their size, and the heights of the markers/models, or of any intervening terrain.
  4. A second question has occurred. I think the rule is clear, but I want to make real sure I am not playing it wrong because I will be doing it a lot: Athorak casts Ancient Words on Kastore2 (full hp or within LOS of Gwyll) with the Reward the Loyal trigger. Kastore2's Feast on the Faithful ability reduces the damage to 0. Trigger states 'another friendly model' may heal and draw a card. I take this to mean Athorak cannot benefit from the trigger, but Kastore2 can (if in range). Reward the Loyal and Feast on the Faithful (if not previously used in the activation) each heal Kastore 1 hp and would both resolve at step 6. Q: Does this count as 2 independent sources of healing? i.e. Kastore2 gets to resolve Faith in the Flesh twice (4" move), and Eta Kithae resolves twice (2 shielded)? Or is it considered part of the same event and thus only 2" move and 1 shielded? Cheers!

  6. @Adran kindly answered my first question: "what are the properties of Athorak's wardstones?" in another thread, but I will include it here as well. Answer = 30mm markers, no other traits (e.g. not terrain, no cover, no height, no shadow, no movement restrictions). Enemy non-melee attacks simply cannot draw line of sight through the markers or area between them, so presumably the effect effectively has infinate height and can protect tall boys like Kastore, even if the markers do not have a height characteristic.
  7. Hi everyone, I am an M2E player returning to enjoy Malifaux once again. I used to play Collodi and Lilith (RIP) in Neverborn and McMourning, Molly, and Yan Lo in Ressers - so having chunk of these factions, loving the nephilim aesthetic, and feeling some resonance with the keyword name, I have decided to re-learn the game with Kastore. My softest spot has always been for Neverborn, so that's where I am starting out. A fair amount has changed in the game since I last played and the Returned seem to have a fair amount of complexity in how their rules interact, so I anticipate having many questions pop up over the course of learning them. Hense, I hope this post will act as a convenient one-stop place for me to seek answers and advice - and hopefully be of use to other fledgling Kastore players. I will be uploading games I play to my YouTube channel (Mo11usq). I can't vouch for the video quality, but if you happen to watch them and detect any mistakes please feel welcome to point it out in the comments - I don't monetize, it simply helps me learn quicker. If relevant, I might add the corrections to this post as a reference for others.
  8. and you shouldn’t hold yourself back on the painting side. Personally I like ordering a keyword at a time, so I haven’t got too much clutter on the paint station. Also to really consider the theme of the keyword, basing wise, and if I should play with some new technique etc. Playwise, the game is just so complicated and with so many variables that limiting your choices at first, helps secure a good foundation. McMurder is a great place to start. Fairly straightforward, and as you move on, you’ll find the game just getting easier.
  9. Hey Wyrdos! This week, Waldo’s been hard at work getting games in so he can contribute to Fractured Futures! We’ve never seen him so focused, so determined… but he still won’t tell us who he’s hoping Nia will end up joining. To try and convince him, we peeled back the aether, walked the threads of Fate, and a few fractured glimpses of what may be… We’re going to be teasing a bit more of what the possible futures look like in the next coming weeks, so keep an keen eye out! We won’t be revealing the campaign score totals this week, so keep on getting games in and reporting your outcomes. But for some extra motivation, here’s a look at the overall rankings: Tri-chi Bandit Redchapel Cadmus Marshal Honeypot Savage Academic Week One has been phenomenal in terms of participation, and community engagement has been outstanding! Many of the current positions are separated by just a point or two so Nia’s fate is still anyone's guess! If you have questions about the Fractured Futures campaign, check out this link and get up to speed about the story, mechanics, and all other information. Echoes of the Breach: Fractured Futures If you’re interested in nabbing a model of Nia for yourself, an STL (or 3D-printable) version can be found in the Wyrd webstore here: NIA STL That’s all for this week Wyrdos. What do you think of Nia’s potential outcomes? Let us know in the comments!
  10. Thank you so much! The fact is, I would REALLY paint all the resserz models (except for Reva), they are all sooo sick! But I guess I should take my time and go step by step. As I said, 1 hour ago I had the postal delivery and now I got Seamus and McM1/2. They both look so nice. I'll learn with McM1 and then I'll decide my next step. I must stay away from the "tier list" discussion because it doesnt mean nothing right now, since we are all new! I must keep this in mind 😂
  11. Ressurs are great. The end. - Personally, I often end up soloing Seamus, when I play ressurs. Jumping carelessly around, blasting a big gun, seems to suit my playstyle. My second choice is usually Daw, as I don't mind choking the fun out of my opponent. That said, you should focus on one keyword, as you learn the game. Try and get to know the ins and outs and the uses for all its models, before you move on to the next. There's no point in trying to guess at 'the one true keyword', you'll only become a good malifaux player from knowing your models, how they apply to schemes and strats, and then understanding the opponent. That's a real mouthful, so it's better to simplify things at first – playing one keyword for the first 5-20 games. I'd suggest going with the one that makes you want to paint the most. Another good point is that focusing on that one keyword, will allow you the time to paint the rest. Nothing worse in Malifaux than grey models, and collecting a horde of grey usually ensures that it stays that way – some people are just more hoarder than hobbyist. - When it comes to POWAAA!, you'll see that every ressur master has her/his fan base. McMourning has been the least favoured, at least before his title. The factions strength is resilience and mobility, two traits that win you games. This doesn't mean that McMourning is a bad choice to learn the game with - and the current environment caters more to his strengths than previous.
  12. I painted this happy snake for the contest. It's technically legal in-game as it's on a 40mm base, but I had to glue it down to keep it from tipping over.
  13. Thanks for your assistance, I couldnt find much on ebay but I have taken a punt on pricing them anyway.
  14. Yesterday
  15. Hi guys! Some friends of mine finally opened a shop here, and we are trying to create a Malifaux community. I'm (re)turning on the game but it's like I'm new, so I'm relearning from 0. Now, in the next days I should have a postal delivery with Seamus and McMourning core box (plus McM2), but I want to buy the Von Schtook rotten harvest and I really like Molly and Kastore too. So I'm a bit confused on who I should put all my energy to learn and master, before moving to the second one. I could use Seamus or Mcm1 to proxy Von S, or use themselves to learn and then decide. My top 3, right now, would be VonS, Molly and Kastore. I would choose between the best to learn the game with, and the most solid as Kw. Tell me everything you want about all of them! If they are good to learn the game with, if they are solid, how they play etc, so I can choose and stick with one. Thank you in advance!

  21. Really cool vibes. Has that dark gritty vibe. Glad I’m not in there shoes! I am a huge fan of the 360 degree dioramas! So many cool details hidden in there
  22. Any news on the official announcement for the winners? No rush! Just curious 🧐
  23. If a marker is given no information on size then it is 30mm as a default. If it has no traits it doesn't count as terrain. So no cover, no height, no shadow, no movement restrictions and so forth. It's covered in the markers section of the rules.
  24. Guys, dumb question I'm sure - what are the properties of Athorak's wardstones? No details are given on his card, maybe a wardstone is a general terrain type defined somewhere else I didn't see? From the above discussion, and marker merchants, it seems they are 30mm. What is their height and that of the effect? Can they protect ht4 Kastore2 for e.g. Are they destructible? Impassable? Do they provide cover shadow? TY
  25. I haven't got a clue on current values of models, and if the old metals are popular. I just want to say that the Nightmare Lord chompybits is very popular, and the nightmare teddy is also often popular. So they are well worth investigating what the market rate is (Probably by looking at sites like Ebay to see what they have sold for). From a quick look you appear to have the right parts to the right models.
