  2. All, in case you've got some questions about the Global Campaign, here's a helpful FAQ! https://www.wyrd-games.net/s/Campaign-FAQ.pdf
  3. We're pleased to inform our community members that Malifaux Print-on-Demand Cards are now available through DriveThruCards! For our community members across the pond, that means cards are easier than ever to get PoD! https://www.drivethrucards.com/browse/pub/5162/Wyrd-Miniatures
  4. Well wyrdos, y'all didn't disappoint when we said to get those games in! In the first 24 hours of this Global Campaign, we already have a set of standings to show off! Honeypot: 6 Savage: 12 Redcahpel: 20 Tri-Chi: 13 Academic: 5 Bandit: 24 Marshal: 8 Cadmus: 6 Looks like it's a race to see if Nia will be wearing fancy hats with Seamus or stealing them with Parker! But it's still early, and her fate is far from decided... Make your mark in Echoes of the Breach: Fractured Futures today! https://www.wyrd-games.net/echoes-of-the-breach
  5. And in that regard, it also needs to be mentioned that a lot of this has been necessary just to make minions viable. Most core box minions won’t see the any table time - broken new releases or not. The minions you see are generally 3action models (like leap), Utility (Healers/Tools for..), and/or really cheap or enforcer level beaters. But even if newer releases makes minions more palatable, they aren’t doing anything for older models like Showgirls, Death Marshalls or Belles.
  6. I think its very likely that there will be a 4th edition at some point. The 2 alternatives are the game ends (definetly worse) or the current edition keeps getting larger and larger. the nature of the game is a complex game, and as you increase options you will increase the learnign burden on anyone that wants to play. I think one of the key things they tried in 3rd edition was to reduce hiring options, and so reduce your complexity in crew creation compared to 2nd edition. I don't have an answer. I can say that people are probably going to be very against the MTG model, since that is worse than the current complaint that "new releases are better than old models" since it would actually invalidate them, rather than just make them a bad choice. Before I started playing Malifaux I had no understanding on the production of figures, distributuion and even shelf space/SKU issues. I have done playtesting over the years, and I can say that none of them have had the intent to produce more powerful models than before, even if the outcome of them was that. Wyrd have produced several simpler and more contained games. None of them have been as popular. On the important question - Collodi,. Whilst I like the concept of the character, every rules iteration of it has been one of my least favorite figures to face or use. So if I never have to see a collodi again, I can't say I'd be upset. Of course I'm sure that there is a possible version of Collodi out there that I would like, but his style overlaps with too many other neverborn at the moment so I don't see a huge reason to bring him back. (I think out of the first edition henchmen I own 2 Lucius, 4 Kaeris, 2 Mollly 1 Vonschill and 1 Ophelia and no Collodi. At the end of 2nd edition I had every master but 4, one of which was collodi. His loss does not trouble me. Out of the 10 dead mans hand models he is 10th on the list of ones I'd want returned, certainly behind the electrical creation, and even behind the marionettes. )
  7. There are more issues. The SKU bloat makes it harder to stock and distribute, and Wyrd has never been good at getting things to market in the first place - Personally I’d applaud a keyword box set approach with a full keyword at €120-130 along with lesser starters. There’s been a shift in design philosophy in model rules. Newer models are more contained and thus rely less on keyword synergy e.g. Crookskins attack Mv and is in itself able to hand out Staggered. Defensive abilities take a lesser toll on hits, if any. Resulting in obvious balance issues compared to older models. This reeks of the GW rules-as-marketing approach, and works counter to wanting a vast offering of models, when you constantly invalidate older models to sell new ones. Personally, I’d prefer making my purchases based on model look/theme, rather than considering whether a Tull or Linh Ly will give me easier wins than Ironsides. The variety means nothing unless every choice is viable. This doesn’t mean that every crew should work in every situation, but you shouldn’t be able to take a set list to a tournament and reliably podium with no regards for opponent/objectives/terrain.

  9. Hello chaps! Would like to buy Alt Alphonse LeBlanc, didn't get him during the Easter sale Paypal
  10. Hey wyrdos! I am looking for a Malifaux map to hang out in my playroom and found this absolutely gorgeous map in the Explorers page. Was this released in higher resolution for printing? If not, Wyrd, could you help me decorate my playroom? Best, Naicigam
  11. I love this game, the world and the models. But the complexity stopped me from playing more often a few years ago. And the same complexity keeps me from starting again, even though I would like to.
  12. Thanks for this excellent question! For a tournament type of situation, it would be the TO. Please shoot an email to hobby.assistant@wyrd-games.net with the relevant details of the event, and I'll make sure the folks processing the game reports know to expect a flood of responses from one person. NOTE: Anyone else wishing to run a tournament with the campaign rules, please reach out before the event to discuss your needs!
  13. I'm planning to run tournament on May with campaign rules. Can I as TO report their games or should I ask players report their rounds individually (per pair)?
  14. Welcome to Echoes of the Breach: Fractured Futures, the 2024 global Malifaux campaign! At the bottom of this post, you will find all of the relevant links to play in the campaign, but for now let’s find out what this is all about. The campaign starts today, April 17th, and it will conclude on Friday, May 31st. In this campaign, you and your opponents will help to determine the fate of Nia: a wayward traveler who has had her future fractured as she crossed through the Breach into Malifaux. She does not yet know it, but she will soon be faced with tremendous possibility. Nia’s Fate is intertwined with some of the most powerful figures in Malifaux. The path chosen is up to you. Every Wednesday during the campaign, we will update the campaign landing page so you know which fate Nia is leaning towards: https://www.wyrd-games.net/echoes-of-the-breach This campaign will be decided by the games you play and it will influence every aspect of the game from story to mechanics, so choose your side carefully! Read the first half of Nia’s story here: Fractured Futures Pt. 1 What Is At Stake? There are eight paths Nia may go down, each associated with an existing Keyword. Throughout the campaign, you will be playing games to score points in support of one of those paths. The future that has scored the most points as of the end of the campaign will be declared the winner and it will become reality! The winning Keyword will gain Nia as a playable model and their story will advance as Nia’s Fate intertwines with their own. Since story, theme, and mechanics are all so deeply linked, this will also likely result in updated rules for some models in that Keyword, depending on how that story plays out! The eight Keywords Nia may become a part of are as follows: Honeypot Savage Redchapel Tri-Chi Academic Bandit Marshal Cadmus You can see how Nia appeared when she first came to Breachtown below, but this will not be the final version of her. Nia will receive new art and a new sculpt depending on which Keyword wins and what happens to her! In addition, the final chapter of her story will be released once the campaign is over, and it will reflect the results of the campaign. You may always choose to support any path you like, regardless of the Faction or Keyword you are currently playing! Nia on the Table In case you missed the campaign announcement, here is the art for Nia Campaign games will require a 30mm Nia Marker. You are more than welcome to use any appropriately sized model (or a blank base) to represent this Marker, however, we have taken the additional step of making Nia available for download as an STL for you to print at home! Find the STL on our webstore here: Nia STL You may also print out and cut out a paper 30mm Nia Token here: 30mm Nia Marker If you don’t have a 3D printer, don’t hesitate to look around, many libraries are now equipped with one. Playing a Campaign Game When you play a campaign game, the Nia Marker will start in the center of the board. You and your opponent will each choose a Thread of Fate (abbreviated Thread) which represents the future you want Nia to have. Each Thread has an effect that will make the Nia Marker act in different ways, making every campaign game unique! Strategies and Schemes are still chosen normally. A campaign game adds to a normal game of Malifaux, it does not take anything away! In addition to this, you will choose one of two Objectives associated with your Thread and, if you complete it, you will score 1 VP, as well as 1 point for your chosen Thread in the overall campaign. It does not matter what Crew or Faction you play, you may still choose any Thread. And you may choose a different Thread every game if you wish. This is just scratching the surface, for the full rules, see the campaign document: Global Campaign Document For your convenience, we also created campaign reference cards: Campaign Card Digital Set Campaign Thread Card Print Version Reporting Games When you are done playing your campaign game, submit your results with this Google form: Echoes of the Breach: Fractured Futures Reporting Form On this form, you answer whether you completed your Objective, whether your opponent completed theirs, and who won. If you played in person, you will also be asked for a picture of the game and the game store or club you played at (if any) to potentially earn prize support for your local store. Games played in person will be worth double campaign points, so you will be more likely to determine Nia’s fate if you can get your models out on a table! Only one player per game may fill out this form, so if your opponent fills out a report, you may not. You must submit your form within 24 hours of playing your game. Forms submitted after 11:59pm EST on May 31st will not be counted. Support Your Local Game Stores This campaign also gives your favorite game stores a chance to shine and win big! Simply list the store where you played the campaign game in your report, and they'll be entered into a raffle for extra product support. Plus, if your store is randomly selected, you and your fellow gamers will win the Fate Bound Fate Deck, an exclusive item not for sale and only available through Wyrd events. It's a win-win for everyone! Fate Bound Fate Deck Please note: We will be verifying participation with the stores to ensure fairness and transparency throughout the campaign. Let's rally behind our game stores and strengthen our community across the globe. Store Resources We have some resources for you to download in order to advertise the campaign. If you would like to put some fliers up in your store, you can download them here: Play Here Fliers Summary This is your chance to influence every aspect of the game we all love! 15. This is probably a topic that has already been covered, it's just to hear some views or opinions, A poll was opened on the Facebook group Wyrd to ask how many agreed or disagreed with Collodi's "hypothetical" official return. Obviously, the majority of users and I too responded positively. However, this result aside, some other users have highlighted the problem that Malifaux is currently becoming too large and therefore increasingly complex. Indeed, what makes Malifaux special is precisely the complexity of the rules and sub-rules and personally over time it has been a continuous discovery! The fact that the random component of the game is so mitigated by the various skills/choice of models makes it something unique on the market! In short, if I had simply wanted to roll two dice and choose to let the highest value win, I would have played something else, or not? 😜 But i too, like others, have the feeling that this is "a double-edged sword"; over time I realize that it becomes very difficult to introduce new players; many don't want to spend their time: Malifaux is undoubtedly a long-time game, which requires a fair amount of space, especially if not played assiduously; Others (I hope without any offense) don't want or just can't understand some game mechanics. It's also true that Malifaux is the driving force behind Wyrd, and it seems sacrosanct to me that new releases come out periodically. But at the same time the fact that they continue to release new models makes me reflect on the issue of balance (more and more things = less balance of pieces)and to tell the truth, as I wrote in other posts, I personally believe that many pieces from the first wave need to at least be updated and balanced with the latest things released. What do you think of all this? The idea of an hypothetical fourth edition scares me a little. Maybe Wyrd should aim to release a simpler, more contained game that aims to be as successful as Malifaux? Or maybe they should try introducing "very ugly" rotating formats like Mtg? And above all, should Collodi return or not? 🤣 And that's my rant for the day...😅

Wow, I loved the scene, I'm delighted with how comical and satirical it is and the paint job is also very good. The water details are great.

Simply a spectacular diorama. The amount of detail and work applied to this piece covers several competitions.

Oof.. you deserve an award for patience and pulse to work all those raindrops, I congratulate your dedication.

Thank you, later I can tell the colors with precision but there were only three or four, starting with a payne gray and then illuminating with two other tones, one of them deck tan, all from Vallejo. In the end I applied a subtle filter with Citadel's Agrax.

Thanks. It was a challenge to use such a limited and dark palette, I usually do the opposite when painting.

Well, I think I can comment now. This is my entry, I recognize that the photograph is very dark but I wanted to highlight the atmosphere, many details were lost and it was very difficult to get part of the raindrops to be seen. Later I will post other photos on Instagram with more light so that the details can be seen better.

Excellent NMM on the katana. The base provides a lot of atmosphere but above all the background gives it the final touch, that is what I should have included in my presentation. Congratulations, it is definitely my favorite piece.
  23. Pablo Gabriel Unamuno

    Rains03

Totally agree with the rest of the comments, one of my favorite pieces in this competition.

    Rains05

Congrats for the paint job, very neat.

It was a great idea, very striking. I think the figure would have caught attention better if part of the water had been lightly colored in blue tones and only the upper parts in transparent or light tones.

Really excellent work! The painting is of a high standard but it's particularly impressive how you managed to have a fairly seamless continuity between the 3d elements of the foreground and the 2d background- it's really well done

Interesting take on a rain effect- I kind of wish it didn't obscure the model as much, which looks really nicely painted.
