The idea is good, and maybe not that far from how a real burning house would light up across the street, but as an artistic composition there is far too much similar toned yellow.

The coloring is really flat, but the positioning of the shadows is great! Just let a little bit of the materials color shine through and tint the yellow lighting. Also if the whole house across the way is on fire, the shadows should start sharp but fuzz out quickly as you move away because of how broad the light source is.

Some great thought has gone into this. It's a novel piece, conceptually stands out amidst the rest of the category and plays a lot harder on the concept of shadow than of light. As others have said though it needs a little more technical work to push it to the next level.

My first thought on seeing this was 'big explosion' flattening out all the color, rather than arson across the street, but I see the reflection in the window there and that makes it less flash and more bright fire, which does make the piece seem too flat. I can't decide if that window has painted on curtains, or is broken and so shouldn't be reflecting as much of the fire as it is either. The concept is great and the shadows are well done.

To be honest, only from the third glance at the work did I understand what was happening here. The author drew the shadow well, the idea is also interesting! IMHO, you need to add more contrast to the work, enhance the shadows. Well done author)

Although the "object" that's the source of the lighting is waaay outside of the diorama, I love the paintjob, the shadows, the whole atmosphere!
Maybe the boots needed a bit more shadows, otherwise, congratulations! :)
