Photo looks too dark, unfortunately(

Solid tabletop painting. Some highlights on the flesh would really sell it well, maybe some base work to provide interest?

Very realistic, nearly monochrome appearance.  Maybe add some red for blood or green for mad science goo?

Here the white background steals the brightness from the model. A neutral gray background usually shows itself better on standard camera settings.

Nice idea for a grim and dark mood. But stil some more contrast and color variation would make the model easier to read. 

Nice, but washes should be a transitory step, not the finishing one. Just go over the raised surfaces with a lighter skin tone and it's gonna be great.
