This forum is the place to ask any and all rules questions for Malifaux. Before you post a question, please check out the FAQ & Errata.
There are not going to be any official rulings on the forums. We are moving away from the previous rules marshal system. If somebody official posts in this forum, it is not a ruling or an FAQ, it is simply their opinion.
Instead of giving rulings on the forums, we will be providing an FAQ document on this site which will be updated at regular intervals. The first installment of this FAQ will be posted on November 1st, 2013 and it will be updated on the 1st of every other month (so every odd numbered month will see an update to the FAQ).
The reason for this is simple, we want all official rulings to be in a single place. If people have a question, they shouldn't have to search through months (or years) worth of forum posts to find an old answer buried somewhere. And the only way to prevent that is to keep official rulings off of the forums. Any and all official rulings will be made in the FAQ/errata document during one of the scheduled updates.
We will be watching this forum closely for questions we may want to include in the FAQ. But, please, don't mine the rules for anything which can be possibly misinterpreted in the hopes of getting it into the FAQ. It is best to simply let people ask questions naturally as they come up in games rather than having academic rules debates. In this way we will be able to build an FAQ which helps people answer legitimate in-game questions.
Although official rulings will not be made in this forum, it is still a great place to get questions answered. I highly encourage anyone with a question to post it here, and encourage anyone who knows the answer to help out their fellow Malifaux players. Just keep it civil and polite, we're all here for the love of the game.
Also feel free to direct players to the FAQ/Errata or copy and paste from it if their question is answered there, but please be polite about it.
