i wish to introduce the game to my wife and need advice as to a list, lists that are manageable for a non-gamer to learn, no neverborn or outcast lists, i assume most lists are 35 pts? thank you in advance

Probably want to play closer to 25ss to start with. Lady Justice or Perdita box set a good place to start. I would start with Perdita , Francisco, Santiago, Niño and Executioner as her crew, maybe vs a small Seamus or Ramos crew.

I'd second Justice as a good starter.

I started with McMourning, and, once you understand dog recycling, I think he's straightforward (and I don't find dog recycling very difficult of a concept to grasp*). Note, though, that 2 nurses is, as far as I can tell, never worth it, so if you're looking to get full use of the starter set, you'll need to look elsewhere.

*though how you can make 2+ dogs out of the parts from one dog does require stretching the imagination a bit

Honestly first game I would start even lower

1 Master, and 2 Minions. Don't worry to much about stone costs. A Guild crew for a Arcanist or Res crew would be best

I prefer playing with at very least:

1 master (obviously)

2+ (of the same) little guys

1 big guy

This means that you've got soulstones, a valuable heavy lifter, and fodder, which are the basics of the game, other than support pieces, in my opinion.
