1. Encounter Details

3. Crew Selection Details

  • Players are required to pick their crews and submit their crew list upon registration. The crews are fixed for the duration of the tournament.

  • Players are required to follow the guidelines for Hiring Crews as described in Step 6 of Encounters (Rules Manual, pg 70)

  • Players may choose to submit same crew for both lists.

  • e.g of submitted list

LIST 1 = Lady Justice and 4 x Death Marshall

LIST 2 = Hoffman, 2 x Death Marshall and 2 x Witchling Stalker

4. Tournament Format and Scoring

  • This tournament will be run according to a Swiss system.

  • Pairings for the first round will be done based on strength of schedule and past tournament results (determined by Dezzo, Zack and Elliott).

  • Subsequent rounds will pair players based on Ratty’s Tournament App.

  • Each round will last 90 minutes, of which 10 minutes will be used for encounter set-up and deployment. 10 minutes before the end of the round, judges will announce that the round will be ending. Upon 90 minutes, games are to stop immediately, and scoring will be done at that point of time.

  • Each encounter will use a Shared Strategy that is flipped by the TO at the start of each round.

  • Players are then to pick their crew from one of the submitted list for the round

  • Players are allowed to pick Schemes at the beginning of each round.

  • Players are required to record un-announced Schemes. If unable to prove un-announced schemes, it will be treated as no schemes.

  • Schemes are unique and may not be repeated for the duration of the tourney

  • Players earn tournament points (TPs) throughout the tournament.

◦ Players earn 3 TPs for a Win, 2 TPs for a Draw, 1 TP for a Loss.

  • The top three players in order of TPs will be awarded the top three prizes respectively.

  • Players will also record the Victory Point Differential (DIFF) during scoring. These will be used as a tie-breaker when determining the tournament's winners.

  • For information on the DIFF scoring, kindly refer to the official Gaining Ground Tournament rules by Wyrd.

5. Rules and Regulations

  • Players are reminded that the tournament is designed to be fun for all players. Players are expected to behave civilly and respectfully at all times. When asked, players should provide information and statistics for models as well as any additional public information. Activations should be played in a timely manner, and players should allow opponents to cut their Decks.

  • Cheating will not be tolerated (other than Cheating Fate, of course!). Players may be disqualified if proven guilty of cheating.

  • Printed v2 Stat Cards are permitted, and are available from Wyrd Miniature's official website.

  • If any Printed stat cards are used, please obtain a “stamp” from the TO to acknowledge your printed stat cards, the “stamped” card will be used for the duration of the Tournament and will not be reissued.

  • Avatars are not allowed in this tournament and will be allowed for the next tournament

  • 50% of the entire crew are expected to be fully painted and properly based.

◦ Painting requirement: All models in your Crew must be painted with at least three colours to count as fully painted. Colours used for highlights and shades count as separate colours. Judges have the final decision towards whether or not a model counts as painted. Bases do not count towards the number of colours for painting requirements.

◦ Basing requirement: All models in your Crew must be based as specified in the Malifaux main rulebook and till date expansion. Usually, the proper base is provided with the model. Bases must be sanded, flocked, or decorated with base inserts. Please contact the tournament organiser with regards to basing queries.

◦ Proxies are allowed for models that are summoned during the course of the game, players are expected to have prepared the appropriate stat cards for the respective models

◦ Any other form of proxies is subjected to TO’s approval, so inform in advance before the day of tournament.

  • Players are expected to be punctual for the event. A penalty of 1 DIFF will be incurred if players are late for the next round. If players have not arrived within 15 minutes of the round starting, they are considered to have forfeited the game, and will give their opponents the full allotment of DIFF (8).

6. Prizes

  • The following prizes will be given out at the end of the tournament:

  1. First Place : $65 PI Voucher, Naming rights, Wooden Fork
  2. Second Place : $45 PI Voucher
  3. Third Place : $25 PI Voucher

  • 1 x $20 PI Voucher for player who flipped the most Black Joker for the duration of the tournament during games (Flipped not play from hand)

  • 1 x Free Entry to the next tournament for player who flipped the most Red Joker for the duration of the tournament during games (Flipped not play from hand)

  • 2 x lucky draw prizes will be given out at the end of the tournament. Players are given a lucky draw ticket during tourny date.

Winners will be given a voucher that allows them to redeem a Malifaux blister from PI, up to $14.90. If players wish to redeem boxed sets or blisters that cost more, they are required to top up the outstanding amount.

◦ Top 3 players are not eligible for a lucky draw prize.

◦ Volunteers for the event are allowed to participate in the lucky draw

  • Last player gets a Wooden Spoon
