TheBugKing
For about the fourth time today I got an FTP 404 error that lasted for about 10 minutes. IS something going on behind the scenes or is the ISP playing head games again?
thetang22
I actually get that every now and again (like once every week or 2). I assumed it was some update happening to the website but that is never the case. Its annoying, but I just stopped thinking about it. Nathan Caroland
I'm currently in the 'ripping someones ass' mode over this. It has been happening fairly often enough this last three weeks after having a very good run. If it keeps up over the next day or so we'll be moving to a new server. thetang22
You might need to go into "Super ripping someone's ass" mode now, cuz I just experienced it yet again, only this time it was for about 1-2 hours. 4:15-5:45 or so Central Time. Keltheos
I've had it on and off all day, whether a 404 or the page loads with no contents. I blame Absolute D.
goblyn13
I don't think you should blame D. I think its a plot by that 'other' company to take out the competition by making other companies sites so popular that they consume mass bandwidth and clog the tubes. then when someone says well company so and so does X, to which they reply, but can you get to there site now? *its a conspiracy I tell ya*
TheBugKing
Nope Goblyn. It's D. But he is spinning it to make you think that it is that ubiquitous "other company" in a vain attempt to get away with the subterfuge. On a more serious note, the problem continues to happen. It may indeed be time to give the current ISP the axe. The bastards really are making a mess of things.
Keltheos
I can place D on the Grassy Knoll, smoking cigarettes on the Hindenburg, and more recently disguised as an UN inspector in Iraq... This is just the sort of mischeif he'd be up to...

This is just the sort of mischeif he'd be up to... Well the whole Hindenburg thing was attributed to static electricity and a thermite reaction in the treatment to the skin of the zeppelin. But I am sure that if we look hard enough I am sure that D was at the front of the research that said that thermite was a safe and sane covering for a sack full of explosive gas. absolute_d
I agree...thermite is safe, it was a problem with the structure, damn bloody thing was highly flammable. I was on the grassy knoll because I was looking at a possible build site for my hotel, obviously that didn't happen. I have a badge. I was however reading this thread earlier, clicked reply and got the 404... There went all the unread posts.
goblyn13
I have a badge. Unless its brass, has a verifiable serial number and is issued by an actual government authority, It don't mean diddly. The security people where i work have badges too, but they couldn't catch a cold.

If you find yourself in a situation like that again, all you need to do is click on LINKS up there at the top and go to 'TODAYS POSTS'. It'll bring everything up for you. thetang22
Something major definitely needs to be done, there have been a LOT of problems getting onto the website this week. Even this morning I had problems again. Sgt. Steamborg....er....Nathan needs to Decapitate(10) somebody over this.
Nathan Caroland
Claw Hammer of Death has already deployed. Server is being moved, there might be problems as the DNS propagates here over the next 4-24 hours.
