Just a bunch of mini related questions to see what our forum participants like, explainations are nice of why, but not needed! These are in no order, just as I thought them up, and yes, I know there ended up being 21. :)

1) Favorite: Color of paint (the specific paint color listed on the lable)

Not sure if its my favortie, but I find myself using SCORCHED BROWN on everything.

2) Favorite: Brand of paint

I've tried many, I keep coming back to GW.

3) Favorite: Sculptor

I'm fickle on that. Jason Weibe is among them though.

4) Favorite: Painter

I notice a lot of SPACEMUNKIE's stuff in my favorites list on CMoN.

5) Favorite: Mini Company (other than Wyrd, we all know it's everyones #1)

Alpha Forge

6) Painting Preference: Metalics vs. NMM

Not good on either...but I like the cleaner effect of NMM

7) Mini Preference: Fantasy vs. Sci Fi

A little over a year ago, I'd never consider anything other than Fantasy...Now I absolutely love Sci-FI and Horror minis.

8) Mini Preference: Male vs. Female

No real preference here. I just don't care for cheesecake or beefcake minis.

9) Mini Preference: Human vs. Monstrous

I love monsters...but you need the humans to 'accentuate' the monsters.

10) Favorite: Paint Brush you use the most

I use the hell out of my Raphael #1. Also love my Da Vinci's 'Pocket brush'

11) Favorite: Paint Job You've Done (provide link if possible)

I suppose my Alpha Forge Demo bot is my favorite

http://www.coolminiornot.com/128689

12) Favorite: Paint Job Ever (provide link if possible)

The first one to come to mind would be Spacemunkies Cyborg:

http://www.coolminiornot.com/95806

13) Desire: A mini company from which you've never painted a mini, but want to

Pulp Figures, Copplestone Casting.

14) Desire: A mini you most want to paint, but haven't

Chaos War Mammoth

15) Favorite: Mini related forum (again, other than your obvious favorite; Wyrd)

Cool Mini, Alpha Forge, Lead Adventure Forum

16) Favorite: Site you find most useful in terms of helping learn mini painting/Sculpting

Cool Mini or Not.

17) Desire: A sculpt you would love to see, but doesn't yet exist

More characters from the world of Sci Fi and Horror movies...

18) Ambition: What would you most like to achieve in the painting hobby

Just to be consistantly 'good' and prolific.

19) Least Favorite: Thing you most dislike about mini painting (think eyestrain, back ache, being socially outcast, lost time, costs, etc...)

The time I have lost devoted to the hobby is a bit disconcerting. Could I find a better use of my time?

20) Least Favorite: Paint Brand you've tried

Of the 'premier brands' Hate to say it, but Vallejo GAME COLOR.

21) Least Favorite: Mini Company who's sculpts/style just don't make you want to paint them.

Rackham

Fun questions Eric!!

1) VMC Ivory. The best paint for highlighting. Anything.

2) VMC. Because I like the selection and the earthy colours.

3) Difficult. If I have to chose one, I'd say Allan Carrasco.

4) Jérémie Bonamant Teboul. He is so allround.

5) Tie between Hasslefree and Enigma. I would say, with those two and Wyrd I could live with there not being any other companies. I wouldn't like it, but I could live with it.

6) I would have answered NMM a year ago. But today, I have no preferences.

7) Fantasy. But I really like minis that are neither, too. Like Wyrd.

8) Female. Because... I'm a guy.

9) Human. Suits my style better. But I like monsters too in smaller amounts.

10) I have a size 1 and a size 00 from Rosemary & Co that I do most of my painting with.

11) This is my best work yet.

12) This ranks pretty high at the moment.

13) MSB Toys.

14) The Artemis that Jérémie painted that I posted above.

15) CMON.

16) CMON.

17) A female 54 mm necromancer from Enigma.

18) Nothing particular. To continue to evolve as a painter, I guess.

19) It makes me lose sleep. When I get started I often can't sleep becuase of all ideas that runs through my head.

20) The old Ral Partha colours. They were very grainy,

21) Reaper.

1. RMS Pure White, it was finally a good covereing nice looking white, but I have so many other favorites.

2. Vallejo Model Color, I use like 6 different brands now, but these tend to still be my standby go to paints still, they just have the qualities I like.

3 Kev White, he is just awesome, but Felix Paniaqua has been closing fast of late.

4. I have lots of favorites, but if you put a gun to my head I'd have to say Marike Reimer, her use of color blows me away.

5. Privater Press, I have been with them since the beginning, and really enjoy their created world and games.

6. Metallics, I just have a passion for them, and doing them right, but I certainly appreciate NMM.

7. Fantasy in general

8. Male, I just enjoy painting musculature and hard lines of a male fig vs. the usually softer lines of a female fig.

9. Monster, I like big bold stuff and monsters usually fit in to that category better.

10. Rapheal Kolinsky pointed round #1, I love it, and it is so nice it usually keeps my WN series #7s on the sidelines. I often suggest them to others, but no one seems to listen.

11.Probably still my troll axer from last years TT contest. I have probably painted a few better than it, but it is still my favorite.

http://wyrd-games.net/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=851

12. Oh jeez I don't know there are so many fabulous ones out there, I can't pick

13. MSB, I have a few of the minis, but I just haven't gotten around to painting them.

14. Back to MSB I guess. The warrior frog hanging from a reed, I love this sculpt and want to paint it, but I'm almost afraid I won't do it justice.

15. Privateer presses forum I guess, I am a long time participator there, but of late I spend less and less time there for a variety of reasons. Of course that means I get to spend more time here. :)

16. Personally my interactions with people over the years in the Modeling and Miniatures forum at PP's site have probably helped me more than anything.

17. Boba Fett! I would love for some one to come out with a proper high quality 30MM Star Wars line, but I'm not holding my breath.

18. I tend to set small goals try and reach them and then pick new ones, so I really don't have an ultimate goal beyond continuing to get better. but right now my main goal is to take home a skull trophy in Privateer Press's Gencon painting contest.

19. By and large I don't have many complaints about the hobby. If i had to pick though I guess it's mostly the overwhelming feeling that I will never be able to paint all the stuff I would really like to paint. Maybe the isolation it tends to put you into also.

20. Hands down Adikolor, oh my goodness they were awful.

21. Dark sword Miniatures, all there stuff seems to be in that cheesy, 80s D&D, high fantasy, Larry Elmoresque style that I really can't stand

Wow that ended up being a lot of work :D

I guess I better answer my questions as well, since the rest of you are doing the work!

1) it's evolved over the years, but I think Shadow Grey is it. And P3's pure white now

2) Used to be all GW paint, now it's about a 50-50 mix of GW and P3

3) A hard one for me, because I actually tend to not really pay close attention to the sculptor, Steve B, Edgar R, Freeman on CMON

4) Nano from cmon (I know, I really should have his real name, I'm just afraid I'll mispell it) and Arkaal

5) You'll probably hate me, but GW. I enjoy working in their universe.

6) Used to be NMM, but lately been working a lot more with metallics and it's really a toss up now

7) Used to be Sci-fi, but again, I just looked at my GD entries for the upcoming LA, and I painted FAR more fantasy than sci-fi, so I may have to rethink this...

8) Females...although again, out of my entries...it turns out there is only 1 woman and she's got really no feminine traits

9) Human...but AGAIN, out of my GD entries, I painted vastly more non-humans...odd...

10) Size 1 W&N7 mini series. I can't stand long brushes, so these really fit for me

11) ok, this might not be what people expect, but this is still my favorite all time paint job that I've done, although I can't really explain why: who knew?

12) I just love these metallics

13) MSB

14) right now, this may seem odd, but a WELL done necron lord (it may not exist, but the conversion is in my head)

15) cmon, the only other forum I really post on

16) cmon, pretty much taught me everything I know

17) a Good necron lord, see above :)

18) I guess statues are fun, but mostly just to keep enjoying it and improving

19) I do think it's time consuming mostly, and also I'm very much like Anders, when I have a vivid idea in my head, I can't sleep thinking about it

20) Adikolor, who wants bubbly paint?!

21) I agree with dark sword, it's just too classic fantasy with over-detailed sculpts, which are technically great, but just don't do it for me

Rackham. What IS that stuff???

21) Least Favorite: Mini Company who's sculpts/style just don't make you want to paint them.

Again, Rackham. Nothing personal but they are the exact opposite of what I look for in a mini. Too detailed, over designed and with very little attention to correct anatomy.

1) Favorite: Color of paint (the specific paint color listed on the lable)

VMC Ivory, for the same reasons as Ritual, it can be used to hihglight everything. Infact it was Ritual who started me using it.

2) Favorite: Brand of paint

VMC, great choice of colours, very muted and earthy.

3) Favorite: Sculptor

Possibly Kev White, as his models have given me the best painting experience. But in terms of just utter cool mini's Raul Garcia Latorre.

4) Favorite: Painter

Anders Eklund, but propably already knew that! (Im really excited for October!, but not in a freaky stalker kind of way!)

5) Favorite: Mini Company (other than Wyrd, we all know it's everyones #1)

Hasslefree

6) Painting Preference: Metalics vs. NMM

Metallics, though I have been painting NMM recently, but only to improve my metallics.

7) Mini Preference: Fantasy vs. Sci Fi

Wel my gallery suggests iv painted more fantasty, but I prefer a good sci-fi sculpt.

8) Mini Preference: Male vs. Female

Female, pretty obvious really. Plus its been that long since iv painted male flesh, iv kinda forgotten!

9) Mini Preference: Human vs. Monstrous

Human, prefer the realism and I just get bored painting anything bigger.

10) Favorite: Paint Brush you use the most

W&N Series 7 Size 0

11) Favorite: Paint Job You've Done (provide link if possible)

DKoK Commander http://web.mac.com/matthewbraid/iWeb/Site/DKoK.html

Phillipe Renaude's Le Duel, unfortunately I have never found a pic on the net. Its on page 18 of the ravage magazine No6. (Cowboy with a robotic arm standing at a bar)

13) Desire: A mini company from which you've never painted a mini, but want to

Andrea

14) Desire: A mini you most want to paint, but haven't

20) Least Favorite: Paint Brand you've tried

Citadel Foundation, they have there uses, I don't HATE them but they are definately my least favorite.

21) Least Favorite: Mini Company who's sculpts/style just don't make you want to paint them.

Reaper, they just have a generic D&D look which is really boring to me.

OK, here goes. This was actually reasonably interesting, thanks dood!

Just a bunch of mini related questions to see what our forum participants like, explainations are nice of why, but not needed! These are in no order, just as I thought them up, and yes, I know there ended up being 21. :)

1) Favorite: Color of paint (the specific paint color listed on the lable)

Oh, you would make it a specific colour. OK, Scab Red.

2) Favorite: Brand of paint

Citadel. I use them all though, so maybe a tie.

3) Favorite: Sculptor

Tom Meier, without question.

4) Favorite: Painter

Jakob Nielsen.

5) Favorite: Mini Company (other than Wyrd, we all know it's everyones #1)

Og..probably Thunderbolt Mountain.

6) Painting Preference: Metalics vs. NMM

All Metallics, Baybee! Just about always.

7) Mini Preference: Fantasy vs. Sci Fi

Fantasy.

8) Mini Preference: Male vs. Female

Nothing beats a butt-kicking female.

9) Mini Preference: Human vs. Monstrous

Elf. SO I guess I'd have to say human.

10) Favorite: Paint Brush you use the most

Winsor Newton Series 7.

11) Favorite: Paint Job You've Done (provide link if possible)

Dunno..probably http://www.scarlet-penguin.com/galadriel.htm because its of my daughter. Yes, thats her real name.

12) Favorite: Paint Job Ever (provide link if possible)

Victoria Lamb's "Rescue of Sister Joan".

13) Desire: A mini company from which you've never painted a mini, but want to

Probably Darksword Miniatures..one of the Parkinson Masterworks.

14) Desire: A mini you most want to paint, but haven't

The Thunderbolt Miniatures Gigantic Green Dragon. Yum.

15) Favorite: Mini related forum (again, other than your obvious favorite; Wyrd)

Well, I only go to Wyrd..the others irritate me.

16) Favorite: Site you find most useful in terms of helping learn mini painting/Sculpting

Staring at stuff Jakob Nielsen paints..so probably his site.

17) Desire: A sculpt you would love to see, but doesn't yet exist

A rogue mafia penguin with a fedora and a trenchcoat.

18) Ambition: What would you most like to achieve in the painting hobby

I wish to become the Ultimate Hobbyist..so a near-Demon or Demon quality army for every army and figure that I like. No rush, eh?

19) Least Favorite: Thing you most dislike about mini painting (think eyestrain, back ache, being socially outcast, lost time, costs, etc...)

Some painters thinking they are the bee's knees because they can win some resin trophies at conventions, or they didn't win what they felt he/she deserved. We're all just goobers, get over yourselves.

20) Least Favorite: Paint Brand you've tried

I like all the ones I've tried..Vallejo Game Colour irritate me the most though. Clogging dropper lids and all that. But I still like them.

21) Least Favorite: Mini Company who's sculpts/style just don't make you want to paint them.

Oh, great. Now I get to start a war. Really, I don't like about two-thirds of what Reaper does. Or, really, it doesn't make me dance artistically. And as for sculptors, I would love it if Mr. Klocke started sculpting different faces on his humans (they all look the same to me, people!) but he is otherwise excellent. I'll stick to his dwarves and monsters.

1) Favorite: Color of paint (the specific paint color listed on the lable)

GW Foundations Astronomicon Grey. It covers black in 1-2 coats...that's why!

2) Favorite: Brand of paint

GW Foundations. Why? Because I HATE-DESPISE-LOATHE painting basecoats (this kills the fun in painting in some miniatures) and Foundations really help.

3) Favorite: Sculptor

Kev White; not as much because of the females but because of the character and poses he can do. I think I love his adventurers like Grant the most.

4) Favorite: Painter

Damn...that is a hard one. I think Jakob Nielsen because the style and atmosphere is just fantastic. On the one hand it has something like "I can do that" but at the same time it looks superstunning and you keep spotting details. It probably has a lot to do with my admiration of John Blanche's work.

5) Favorite: Mini Company (other than Wyrd, we all know it's everyones #1)

Privateer Press, but mostly I am a gamer and WARMACHINE and HORDES still are the best games on the market and I see no contender for that top spot at the moment. In addition I have a weak spot for bigass miniatures that ooze testosterone, power and brutality. Nobody does that better than Privateer with their Warjacks (okay, Andy Foster does it better :D)

6) Painting Preference: Metalics vs. NMM

Don't care...depends on the painter and the style and the miniature.

7) Mini Preference: Fantasy vs. Sci Fi

Steampunk all the way!!!

8) Mini Preference: Male vs. Female

Male. Female miniatures get boring as hell. As if we don't have enough metal titties and vixens already. More muscles please!

9) Mini Preference: Human vs. Monstrous

MONSTROUS!!!! I am a big fan of big muscular overpowered miniatures. I love pushing those metal hulks across the gaming table.

10) Favorite: Paint Brush you use the most

Windsor & Newton series 7...nr. 2 at the moment.

11) Favorite: Paint Job You've Done (provide link if possible)

13) Desire: A mini company from which you've never painted a mini, but want to

Andrea Miniatures

14) Desire: A mini you most want to paint, but haven't

The Netherlord II by Heresy miniatures

15) Favorite: Mini related forum (again, other than your obvious favorite; Wyrd)

Gwhobby.net

16) Favorite: Site you find most useful in terms of helping learn mini painting/Sculpting

www.brushthralls.com

17) Desire: A sculpt you would love to see, but doesn't yet exist

Spawn...'nuff said

18) Ambition: What would you most like to achieve in the painting hobby

Paint awesome miniatures, write cool miniature games and open a game shop.

19) Least Favorite: Thing you most dislike about mini painting (think eyestrain, back ache, being socially outcast, lost time, costs, etc...)

BASECOATING

20) Least Favorite: Paint Brand you've tried

So far, Rackham. Thick weird paint that paints very different from other paints. It is good paint but takes a while to master.

21) Least Favorite: Mini Company who's sculpts/style just don't make you want to paint them.

Dark Sword. I hate Tina Turner haircuts.

4) Favorite: Painter I got a lot of favorites, so I'll just say anyone who paints a Wyrd mini!

5) Favorite: Mini Company (other than Wyrd, we all know it's everyones #1): The now defunct Ilyad :(

10) Favorite: Paint Brush you use the most The cheap Robert Simmons that you can buy at craft stores, I prefer sable to synthetic, though.

11) Favorite: Paint Job You've Done (provide link if possible): My Fruit Bat of Canage! He was just fun!

12) Favorite: Paint Job Ever (provide link if possible)Oh geez, just so many to pick from.... ...I'll go with this one Asurmen by Thomas David since it was Eldar that first got me into the hobby.

13) Desire: A mini company from which you've never painted a mini, but want to: Thunderbolt Mountain

14) Desire: A mini you most want to paint, but haven't: My Ilyad Archangel

15) Favorite: Mini related forum (again, other than your obvious favorite; Wyrd): CMON Forums

19) Least Favorite: Thing you most dislike about mini painting (think eyestrain, back ache, being socially outcast, lost time, costs, etc...): Prepping.. thinking you got every mold line then when you primer it, whap! There's one you missed! grrrrr...., Followed closely by the sore muscles I get sitting scrunched over like I do.

20) Least Favorite: Paint Brand you've tried. GW Inks, they hate me!

21) Least Favorite: Mini Company who's sculpts/style just don't make you want to paint them. Well, practically every company has minis I like and don't like, Hard to say really....

1) Favorite: Color of paint (the specific paint color listed on the lable)

Ashen Blue (RMS). It's a nice, subdued color and I tend to use it quite a bit.

2) Favorite: Brand of paint

Reaper Master Series (RMS). Pretty good paints and the ones that I pretty much started with. Although, I am trying some VMC and P3.

3) Favorite: Sculptor

Hmmm...hard to say; lots of great ones out there.

4) Favorite: Painter

Again, hard to say; so many painters inspire me and oftentimes I find myself studying their work to see what I can learn. Eric and Anders (yeah, I give him a hard time for brush-licking, but he's still an amazing painter) are probably my top two.

5) Favorite: Mini Company (other than Wyrd, we all know it's everyones #1)

I like a lot of what Hasslefree has to offer.

6) Painting Preference: Metalics vs. NMM

Metallics, but that's mostly because I haven't really tried NMM.

7) Mini Preference: Fantasy vs. Sci Fi

Fantasy.

8) Mini Preference: Male vs. Female

Female (I do like the ladies :tongue2: )

9) Mini Preference: Human vs. Monstrous

Human (for now).

10) Favorite: Paint Brush you use the most

Winsor & Newton Series 7 #0 and #1.

11) Favorite: Paint Job You've Done (provide link if possible)

Alidee, Female Thief. My first time trying OSL and the feedback and help I got from so many people was absolutely amazing. I learned so much with that one.

12) Favorite: Paint Job Ever (provide link if possible)

Hard to say; much like asking who my favorite painter is. A lot of really great works out there.

13) Desire: A mini company from which you've never painted a mini, but want to

Hell Dorado (some of their stuff looks really cool!)

14) Desire: A mini you most want to paint, but haven't

Anime Schoolgirl with Hamster Gun (the one I got was damaged, so it's going to take a lot of work to fix it; work I'm not comfortable doing yet).

15) Favorite: Mini related forum (again, other than your obvious favorite; Wyrd)

A tie between Coldsteal (it's small, but there are some great painters there) and World of Minis.

16) Favorite: Site you find most useful in terms of helping learn mini painting/Sculpting

Any site/forum where the experienced painters are willing to help those of us trying to learn by taking the time to comment/leave feedback on the work of others.

17) Desire: A sculpt you would love to see, but doesn't yet exist

SteveB actually gave the same answer that I was thinking about: Ash from the Evil Dead movies.

18) Ambition: What would you most like to achieve in the painting hobby

Smooth blends and transitions.

19) Least Favorite: Thing you most dislike about mini painting (think eyestrain, back ache, being socially outcast, lost time, costs, etc...)

Those f*(%ing mold lines!

20) Least Favorite: Paint Brand you've tried

Haven't tried enough paint brands yet.

21) Least Favorite: Mini Company who's sculpts/style just don't make you want to paint them.

I have no idea.

1) Favorite: Color of paint (the specific paint color listed on the label)

VMC smoke & VMC Ivory

2) Favorite: Brand of paint

Although I use mainly VMC, I find some of their colours rather crappy so there's no obvious favorite. I've tried Derivant and I think they are pretty good.

3) Favorite: Sculptor

Not too sure of their names but mainly the Rackham sculptors.

4) Favorite: Painter

Naming just one is impossible for me. Allan C, Jeremie B, Yellow one, Rusto, Automaton & many more.

5) Favorite: Mini Company (other than Wyrd, we all know it's everyones #1)

Rackham

Wow, I'm rather new to the serious side of painting, so alot of my answers won't really amount to much.

1) Favorite: Color of paint Goblin Green

2) Favorite: Brand of paint I like GW, but since I have a choice between money for paint of money for minis, most of my stuff cheapo hobby paint, like Apple Barrell or Plaid

3) Favorite: Sculptor The Easter Islanders. Gotta love those wacky moai heads.

4) Favorite: Painter Georges Seurat

5) Favorite: Mini Company (other than Wyrd, we all know it's everyones #1) Well, I can't say wyrd, and GW has gotten waaay to expensive, so I'm gonna go with Privateer Press. bThough to be honest, Wyrd is the first of the smaller houses I've worked with, and made me realize that there's a lot of good stuff out there beyond the big boys. I'm looking to buy a lot of "independant" stuff at GenCon because of this eye-opening.

6) Painting Preference: Metalics vs. NMM Metalics. NMM looks a bit out of my leauge at this point.

7) Mini Preference: Fantasy vs. Sci Fi Can I split the difference and go with steam punk? Ahhh, who am I kidding, I have to say fantasy, since 2/3 of my stuff is undead...

8) Mini Preference: Male vs. Female I really don't have a prefrence on this one, as long as they look cool.

9) Mini Preference: Human vs. Monstrous Again, most of my stuff isn't all that human anymore, so I guess monsterous.

10) Favorite: Paint Brush you use the most Whichever one I haven't destroyed yet. But my prize brushes that I take extra special care with are the few from Loew-Cornell's LaCorneille Golden Taklon line. these baby's have a nice fatty fat handle for my giant gorrila paws to grip, they hold the paint nicely, and they have kept their shape longer than anything else I've tried so far. i would sleep with them under my pillow if my wife would top giving me odd looks.

11) Favorite: Paint Job You've Done (provide link if possible) My entry for this year's Gencon contest. (You will have to wait till after the contest to see it.)

12) Favorite: Paint Job Ever (provide link if possible) I haven't been paying attention long enough.

13) Desire: A mini company from which you've never painted a mini, but want to Crocodile Games

14) Desire: A mini you most want to paint, but haven't One that would actually come close to making a cut in a competition.

15) Favorite: Mini related forum (again, other than your obvious favorite; Wyrd) Wyrd is the only one I belong to.

16) Favorite: Site you find most useful in terms of helping learn mini painting/Sculpting Brushthralls

17) Desire: A sculpt you would love to see, but doesn't yet exist Something that would work well for the GhostBusters type game I'm working on.

18) Ambition: What would you most like to achieve in the painting hobby Having minis that someone else would like to take a picture of.

19) Least Favorite: Thing you most dislike about mini painting (think eyestrain, back ache, being socially outcast, lost time, costs, etc...) The expense. It seems like the price of lead keeps going up and up.

20) Least Favorite: Paint Brand you've tried Haven't tried all that many.

21) Least Favorite: Mini Company who's sculpts/style just don't make you want to paint them. Abberant games. It isn't that the minis look Bad, they just seem like a retread of what other companies have done. There must be new ideas out there...

4) Favorite: Painter

Just one? Romilly Brown (he who first taught me which end of the brush to use 18 years or so ago. I don't know if he still paints but the boy had talent). Of the people you will know I would say YellowOne would just edge out a very tightly pasked bunch (sounds a bit rude!)

Ummmmmmm. I dun know.

18) Ambition: What would you most like to achieve in the painting hobby

Hmmm...

1. Graveyard Earth (when it's not too runny)

2. Only really use GW but have some Vallejo mediums (media? and prefer their bottles)

3. Jes Goodwin - I adore those ogres

4. Hard to say but I thik Victoria Lamb is a name that springs to mind for some very inspirational painting and conversions

5. I like Reaper for their old school D&D style selection

6. Metalics - haven't got the guts to try NMM yet but am being slowly converted to appreciating it by more and more excellent examples online

7. Fantasy - haven't painted sci-fi since Space Hulk and Space Crusade

8. Probably male - women are too bumpy ;)

9. Monstrous - back to those ogres again

10. Rosemary & Co Kolinsky Sable size 1

11. Flea the Ogre (can we see a theme yet) http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n177/willtompsett/Flea.jpg

12. Is it really possible to choose just one???

13. Can I say Wyrd for this one?

14. The GW giant sitting in a drawer at home

15. CMON

16. CMON (when it's working!)

17. Probably something to do with ogres

18. To be happy with something I've painted

19. Not being able to get my painting to look anything like how I want it :(

20. Tamiya (except the Clear Red for gore!)

21. A lot of the GW army fodder is a real turn off but their characters make up for it

Rackham. Though people may complain about them, IMHO they had a big impact on the hobby (quality of minis and studio paint jobs).

6) Painting Preference: Metalics vs. NMM

NMM. My lazy side likes the fact that you don't need to change your paint water as often ;). Plus I tend to admire more paintjobs where the artist completely controls his lighting (although, yes, metalics can be awesome).

At the moment I think i'm still most happy with my angel portal I did for the IP. Maybe not the best skill wise all over (but definatly for the worst either)... but the fact it is the only fig I really don't want to sell is makes it obviously my favorite.

Argus my necromancer done right and completely (not just the head). Will be done one day as a one off likley.

18) Ambition: What would you most like to achieve in the painting hobby

To paint as well as Derek Schubert or Marike Reimer, I love their styles as well.

19) Least Favorite: Thing you most dislike about mini painting (think eyestrain, back ache, being socially outcast, lost time, costs, etc...)

Eyestrain, definatly eyestrain (gives me migrains/head aches, that's why)... Goes for sculpting even more as i get eyestrain much more doing that then painting. I can't sculpt longer then a small hour before I have to stop. Can't do much comutering after or painting due to the eyesore and heavy head after that either. Solo reason for no new finished greens in a while now really.

20) Least Favorite: Paint Brand you've tried

Haven't tried many. I used to not like Valejo. But i have been working with it more lately and I do actually like them (well only have a few colours) a lot and can work well with it. Can't wait to get the paints from Eric to try them out to the limit.

21) Least Favorite: Mini Company who's sculpts/style just don't make you want to paint them.

Hmm Dark sword perhaps. To classical. Though i have a few of their figures and i actually have painted a few. Tom Meier's sculpts too. Technically brilliant, love a lot of them, but with some exceptions (love the small dragons for instance) I hate painting them.
