Hello!

I am a new Malifaux player from Athens, Greece. My first crew box was the Lucius one, despite all the warnings against it. The story and the looks where too good for me to pass ^_^.

I have come to Malifaux from WHFB and WMH. I was looking for a game with more immersion and emphasis on aesthetics without compromising on strategic and tactical depth. I find that what won me over to Malifaux is the model count and the schemes/strategies mechanic.

Here's to many hours of happy gaming!

Good Evening!

I am a new player from Ireland, currently trying to find my out of the horrifying and blood covered wilderness that is the post-university hunt for employment.

I've technically been wargaming since I was nine, starting off with Games Workshop's Lord of the Rings Strategy game... and then later some WH40K and being the young innocent child I was I played Ultra-Smurfs. I didn't know any better. I found myself drifting away from the hobby but in the last few months I took a renewed interest in wargaming and when research games, Malifaux immediately caught my eye. I'm a bigger lover of lore, storytelling and aesthetics and Wyrd seems to excel in all of these.

I also play Infinity and Frostgrave... but of course they are smelly and inferior to Malifaux, honest (p_^)b

I do not really have much faction preference in what masters and models I choose, really just go for whatever appeals to me in terms of background and appearance. Not the best idea for forming a winning crew but makes painting a lot more fun and after starting collecting Malifaux I am seeing real improvement in my painting.

I have purchase a few masters sets, I started with Lady Justice... because I played a lot of Katarina in League of Legends (p_^). Where I am does not really have any opportunities to play but I have convinced a few friends to try it and have some fun nights.

Hope to be inspired by and enjoy stories of other peoples projects, painting, scenery, campaigns and so on and also become active in a great community for a great game.

Good Afternoon I am Andrew from the north of the UK, I have been wargaming for a long long time 36 years ish :) I started with Warhammer  then moved into historical gaming WRG 6th Edition, DBM etc. I have also played lots of other rules the list is too long to even contemplate.

As Far as Malifaux goes I noticed the models in a local shop about a year or so ago I loved the sculpts and a game that has Cowboys, Gremlins, Victorians and Monsters in it combined with cards and no dice appealed to me. I've bought many Guild models since and have the rules, shifting loyalties etc and have bought a lot of terrain like play mats, buildings etc but not played that much. there does not seem to be much Malifaux played in my area which is a shame as I love the game.

Im hoping i can build up my collection find some new opponents and generate some enthusiasm with the opponents I know for this unique game. So Ill need lots of advice from you veterans out there, any advise you can give would be greatly appreciated because this game deserves to be supported as to my knowledge its unique.

yours Sincerely

Andrew

Hi Everyone,

I've recently got heavily back into Malifaux and Through the breach and thought i would get more involved with the online community.

I'm a UK player based in Birmingham,

A few bits about me:

My first crew was Colette and i was hooked straight away! i loved the old metal models and she now has pride of place as a stone monument on my game table.

I currently own every crew except gremlin faction boxes.

I manage a retail gaming store in the centre of Birmingham, Manaleak.

i miss avatar models and hope plastics get released.

Thanks,
Oliver Webster

Greetings.

After what seems like playing another system for 40,000 years. Not really, more like 30. I have switched to a new game.

Disenchanted, with the equation ( Time painting and money spent X playing against unpainted figures X getting worked by super feta + same old story line. ) Well it summed up to me needing a change.

And then like a rip between dimensions I stumbled onto Malifaux.

Love the story and what is not to love about the figures.

Super excited.

Goals.

To watch my painting and posts evolve.

To find a forum for creativity, and community.

To have fun again.

Yes, I am a nurse in real life.

I look forward to posting, reading and playing.

Regards.

Malifauxnurse.

Hi,

I'm Chris,  a new player based in Newcastle, UK.

I first got into gaming about 30 years ago, go all misty eyed when people mention Rogue Trader 40k, being as that was my miniature intro.

Never really stayed with wargaming though...mainly focused on role-playing etc.

I've been a fan in the shadows of Malifaux since it's first release and own all the Rule books from v.1 onwards but have never bought a single miniature due to no longer having anyone to play with (and now also a young family).

Recently my best friend's nephew approached me about getting into wargaming and after having a chat about game systems we've decided (read: I've convinced him) to play Malifaux.

We've joint bought the 2 player box, I'm going Neverborn and he's going Guild or Arcanist.

Wish us luck!

Hello everyone,

My name is Blake, I'm 28, and I'm from Mississippi. I've been around, and am a complete nerd/geek. I've been gaming both electronically and tabletop since I was 5. I grew up in a fairly nerdy family. I play a number of miniature games, card games, and RPGs. I'm also a new Henchman for Jackson MS and surrounding areas. My passions/hobbies are many and diverse.

Hi everyone,

I'm Marco from Italy. I started playing this awesome game nearly two years ago, after years of Warhammer (fantasy & 40k) and Infinity. Malifaux has quickly became The game in my gaming group, the only one we play regularly.

I'm a Neverborn player, but i recently started Ten Thunders, with Lynch, Shenlong and Misaki.

Hey everyone, I'm Daniel from Sydney, Australia. This is my first tabletop miniatures game. I had my first demo game on Sunday down at PAX Aus and really enjoyed it (thanks to Mouse for the demo). So I decided to try this whole Malifaux thing out.

I'm still looking for a group so if there are any groups paying in store in the greater Sydney area, please let me know.

As for faction, I'm looking at the Guild, specifically Lady J and her Death Marshals.

Another Australian here, from Brisbane. Completely new player. I've chosen the Arcanists led by Rasputina for my first crew.

I started with the Dark Elves in Warhammer Fantasy Battles back in 1998. Loved Mordheim when it was around, which has now piqued my interest in other skirmish games, leading me to Malifaux. I'm also starting Warmachine/Hordes at the same time with Circle Orboros.

Despite having my toe in the pool for such a long time, I haven't done a proportionate amount of actual gaming or painting compared to the amount of money spent and miniatures owned. I'm hoping to change that in the New Year!

Anyone in or visiting Brisbane is always welcome to drop me a message. :)

Hi all,

New player from Sydney Oz, from the usual background. Lots of GW specialist games, lots of 40k, moved to historical and xwing as GW in my view became ridiculous in cost and fluff.  Saw Malifaux, loved the mini's and roped a mate into it aswell.

Have the urge to buy all of the things, have settled on Dita and her crew to start.

Seems to be an interesting time to be joining with 3rd edition announced but looking forward to it!

Hello,

My real name is Spenser, and I'm in Orange County, California.

My long term gaming background is mostly in RPGs, but I started miniature gaming a few years back with Infinity. I now also play BattleTech, and have been dabbling in historicals with Age of Sail naval games.

I've been watching Malifaux lately, and the M3E announcement has piqued my interest again. I'm looking forward to getting involved!

Hello everypony,

I am a new player from Germany (Munich it is - need more games to avoid Oktoberfest). A while ago I made a very short escapade into M2 but sticked to Infinity as the I was totally overwhelmed. Now, with M3 finally here I am going crazy about Malifaux. The rules are really well written, all the confussing stuff with the trillions of special rules on those hundreds of cards got totally streamlined aaaaand everybody gets a reset (I found it really hard to get into an active community).
So, here is the story in general: Played some GW stuff about 20 years ago, left for Warma - which then got too annoying (learning Magic-like combo stuff each and every other month - serioulsy?) for me - and I finally found my miniature game in the world of the Human Sphere (Infinity, that is - skirmish, very interactive, purely tactical with list building not being a huge factor).
And now I moved and found my old Perdita Crew. That made me take a look at the M3 rules and suddenly all went BANGWAZZINGABOOM!
Thanks, Wyrd for creating an obviously great game!

Here I am, now. Already invested way too much money (already got 7 crews, some of the stuff 2nd hand) and busy with building models and starting to paint my Rezzers. Next will be Neverborn and who knows what will rise and shine (in colors, hopefully), soon(tm)

The next big thing for me will be the German Masters - 5 games in 2 days... how is that supposed to work? Up to now, each single game takes me about 3-4 hours to finish 😱
