Put off playing as Brewmaster

Recommended Posts

Well I mean... there is no better control than killing. (maybe with the exception of obeying certain models)

Dead models usually score no points.

But maybe I was a bit too dismissive and I hope I didn't come across as rude. I just cannot get behind that kind of comparisons between factions and masters and playstyles, because to me they are and should be highly individual.

That being said: maybe Pocorn Turner and Cooper Jones will help you/us to cope with Brewmasters weaknesses.

New models will certainly address weaknesses in a poison focused crew, but its worth remembering that even if they were to "fix" brewmaster, they would limit his individuality by forcing him to take them in all of his lists, reducing his flexibility. I hope eventually we can see Brewmaster recieve a second errata, to fix the issues on his card, rather than promising potential "fixes" only to those who purchase new models and run specific variations of his crew.

From early wording, the damage bonus you get from poisoning may be in addition to the damage you get from the wave 5 Brewmaster upgrade.  If true, let them stew in the Drinking Contest for a turn or 2 and they will be dead.

Brewmaster crews hate ranged attacks and spells. If you don't get in the bubble, you're avoiding the majority of the game plan. Also, every faction has some model that can clear conditions. Take yours when going blind into a tournament or when you don't know your opponent very well. Choose schemes that don't make you clump up. A Brewmaster crew will take models that want to stick close together for synergy purposes and to buff poison, AoE damage punishes that (especially at range).

The bubble is a mistake for rookie Brewmaster players though- I rarely use the bubble, it’s often not as good as his other zero action, at least that’s what I find.
