Why are austringers so good?

I know they used to be a must take but since the errata (started playing after the errata) I've tried them and they just felt so underwhelming. 

Why does everyone seem to still love them so much? I want to like them but need help seeing their value.

Distract on Sh 7 is insanely good. I usually activate them first to shred hands and then don't have to worry about cheating the rest of the turn.

I think they are decent in 2 cases:

Headhunter

Jury discard abuse

 

Apart from that there are so many good 6SS models that you can most likely skip them.

I usually hire them for the following:

1.) Attack that ignores LoS, cover and engagement means you can freely target whoever in range.

2.) High accuracy from decent Sh 7.

3.) Deliver Orders to help "schemeing" and disengaging.

 

And because my local meta is full of summoner, the discard trigger really help when against them and the damage is good enough to finish the summoned model. I would be more prefer Monster Hunter if here is more heavy beater and elite crew.

Deliver Orders seems to get a lot of mileage when I play against Guild crews that bring Austringers. That 3 inch push combined with an Interact seems to help score schemes quite a bit.

I only use them in headhunter or Ply for information at this point.   Given our bevy of new, more effective 6 ss minions the pathfinder is the only old 6ss minion I will consider without having a certain jank in mind.
