Arrrgh
Hi guys, simple question: Do the swampfiends for "Hexed Among You" have to be bought with SS before the game starts (and thus count against the SS limit), or are they "free" like other summons? 2 Ludvig
They are NOT summons. They are normally bought models that just gain a special deployment rule. It says you may deploy them, not summon them and that is a huge difference.
1 solkan
For reference, the Ability on the Hexed Among You upgrade card: Quote Eyes in the Woods: Up to three friendly Swampfiend Minion models may be deployed anywhere on the board that is at least 6" away from the enemy Deployment Zone. These models may not take Interact Actions on the first Turn. As Ludvig points out, that DOES NOT say that the minions are summoned. To be fair, this ability might have been a bit clearer if it stated explicitly "During deployment, up to three friendly Swampfiend Minion models may be deployed anywhere on the board that is at least 6" away from the enemy Deployment Zone. ...", but the current wording is consistent with the abilities on other models which change how they deploy, like the Clockwork Traps and Pathfinders (and about six or seven other models ): Quote From the Shadows: This model may be deployed anywhere on the board that is at least 6” away from the enemy Deployment Zone. This model may not take Interact Actions on the first Turn.
