The event will be 50 Soulstones with a Fixed List. Models must be assembled but painting is not required. All proxies and conversions must be approved prior to the event. Registration will begin at 11:00 AM. Round 1 will begin as close to 12:00 PM as possible. This tournament will be utilizing the schemes and strategies from the Gaining Ground 2017 packet, so if you are not already familiar with that you may find it here. The painting requirement will be waived for this tournament. As this will be the first Malifaux tournament at this Dragon's Lair location I am working to make this tourney as beginner friendly as possible but still want all of the great veteran players in the community to come out and play, hence why I am making this a fixed list tournament. The strategies and schemes for each round are as follows: Round 1 Deployment: Close Deployment Strategy: Headhunter Schemes: Claim Jump (Always) Frame For Murder (Rams) Leave Your Mark (Tomes) Covert Breakthrough (1) Show Of Force (3) Round 2 Deployment: Standard Deployment Strategy: Stake a Claim Schemes: Claim Jump (Always) Eliminate the Leadership (Doubles) Dig Their Graves (Crows) Undercover Entourage (2) Recover Evidence (6) Round 3 Deployment: Corner Deployment Strategy: Squatter's Rights Schemes: Claim Jump (Always) Frame For Murder (Rams) Accusation! (Masks) Tail 'em (10) A Quick Murder (12) If you're a new player and need help putting together a list for this event, please don't hesitate to contact me and ask for help! Prize support and raffle will include Store Credit, Mystery Boxes, LE Models, LE Card, Guilders, and more! Entry fee is $10 and goes entirely to prize support. Nemesis0284
How new player friendly do you expect this to be, @Guslado? I'm wanting to come play in it this weekend, but the only time I've been able to really play in awhile is the single turn I got in against you with my Raspy crew. I'm going to try to be at another store in Houston Friday night, hoping to get a game in then. I don't expect to take the tournament by storm, but don't want to be the guy that everyone is upset to be paired against either.
Guslado
It's going to be very new player friendly, we'll have a lot of players who aren't very experienced. The idea is to have a tourney where all levels of players will have a good time. Come on out, it'll be fun!
