81) If a Guild model has the Vengeance Bullet Upgrade and is temporarily controlled by an enemy (for
example: during Obey) can the enemy choose to discard the Vengeance Bullet Upgrade if it is taking an
Sh Action against a model which can use Soulstones?
Yes.

Vengeance bullet and Ready for Work both read : "When this model declares ..."

It looks like you can.

It's not the ability being on an upgrade that is central here. The point of contention is that charge is normally a (2) action so at the point of choosing the action you are technically not choosing a (1) action until the ability kicks in. My argument for allowing it is that when you check to see if the action is legal you then discard the upgrade to make it a (1). There are plenty of times when Perdita, Abuela or Lucius would want to "obey" the executioner to do that charge outside of it's activation.

Basically

Obeyer: I hereby declare the (1) charge action.

Confused opponent: What, charge is a (2) not a (1).

Obeyer: No, because as part of declaring that charge I discard this upgrade to make it a (1).

No longer confused opponent: I see, go ahead.
