Caiti-Erin
Is this event beginner friendly? Or will I be scowled at and overwhelmed? Would a basic crew work?
Turelio
I try and make as many of my tournaments as beginner friendly as I can. This one probably works more toward beginner friendly than some of the others though. It's the basic schemes/strategies, not the gaining grounds variants, so you are probably familiar with them already. Smaller than usual crew sizes would mean a basic crew would be a good core force, and you wouldn't be faced with a huge number of unknown models staring at you across the table (hopefully). A lot of the tournament regulars are aware that everyone starts somewhere, and are patient. Plus, they often only get games in every few months, so would likely be just as rusty on the models as you are new to them. Plus, if you had questions about henchman things or the tournaments, I'm happy to answer in person while I'm there, and you can see some more of the community.
