Nicodem targeting his own vulture

Pretty sure this works, but want to clear it with the experts.

Nicodem's vulture casts Eyes and Ears allowing Nicodem to draw LoS and Range for cast actions.  Can Nicodem now use that ability to cast Decay *on* the vulture from wherever?  He's using the vulture to draw LoS and Range, so he has LoS and it's range 0.  Kind of corner case, but pondering something...

I object to your spurious use of the asterisk to ask this question, and the use of the preposition 'on' in conjunction with targeting the vulture with an attack action.  That's clearly 'cast at', not 'cast on'.  

1.  The vulture has line of sight to itself.

2.  You're not violating the 'You need explicit permission to attack yourself' rule, as such.  There's about half a page of rules that Malifaux would have to incorporate from games like Warmachine/Hordes concerning things like 'point of origin' of an attack, or an additional prohibition that would have to be added to the Vulture's action text, to prohibit attacking the Vulture using that mechanism.

3.  Whatever the range from the vulture to itself is, it's less than the range of the attack.
