Popular Post mythicFOX
Joel has decided to step back from running Masters after the 2015 event being held at the end of the month. This means someone else needs to take the helm. After a number of conversations David (Clousseau) and I have agreed to jointly take on running the 2016 masters (held early in 2017). We'd like to thank Joel for all his hard work running the event. As the first event of the 2016 season has already been held we feel it is important to finalize the criteria for qualification for the 2016 masters as soon as possible. So here they are; The 2016 season will run 01/01/16 to 30/11/16. Sixteen players will be invited to the 2016 Masters, to be held at some point after 30/11/16, probably in January 2017. To be eligible to receive an invite a player must be both active and in good standing within the UK Malifaux community. This is defined as meeting the following two conditions; Have played in a minimum of at least four ranked events held during the 2016 season. Not have been disqualified from a Malifaux event of any kind held during the year of 2016. Invites to be given as follows; No player may receive more than one invite. One invite offered to the reigning 2015 Master, who will be decided at the event in January 2016. One invite offered to the winner of the UK Nationals (aka UKGT) in 2016. The remaining invites are to be offered to the highest ranked players who are able to attend, based on the player rankings for UK events held in the 2016 season. Invites to be offered down the rankings until Masters is quorate at sixteen players. Player rankings and their administration are a separate matter to be handled elsewhere. Format and location of the 2016 Masters event to be confirmed closer to the time. You'll note that point three is the only deviation form the 2015 qualification rules, and should be a mere formality to anyone wishing to qualify for the 2016 masters. In considering the qualification rules for the 2016 season we took into account a lot of feedback from players. As we are now inside the 2016 season and there is no consensus in the community for radical change to the qualifying criteria we don't feel this is the right time to implement such changes. If the consensus changes during the year this is something that can be revisited for the 2017 season. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact either or both of us.
