TheGreg
Love your hired swords, some of my favourites. You've inspired me to revisit mine
kingmighty
Nice, your Viks are looking great. I know how hard it is to paint those tiny little details especially on the Student of Conflict since I painted her by myself a couple of days ago.
sigmar3
You aren't wrong there kingmighty! But that is part of the challenge I guess, and I'm sure painting these malifaux models has made me a better painter in general
sigmar3
So I've basically finished this ronin and I'm as happy as I can be with her. I struggled a lot with colour choice and things with her and she's turned out as my least fave ronin I've done. But nevermind. Onwards to better things hopefully. Again these photos were taken with my phone so quality not great.
sigmar3
So started the Viktoria of...Blood I think this one is? Again going mainly with artwork.
sigmar3
I've basically finished this one apart from some minor clean up (pictures taken on phone so....not great). A fun model to paint. Just the last Viktoria left from this crew now.

sigmar3
I had some time off this Christmas so I actually managed to do little painting. Here it be.
sigmar3
Hey long time no post. I managed to finish the last Viktoria and thus the entire Hired Swords crew. Here she is. There's bits I'm not entirely happy with, as always but I'm trying not to obsess over these things. Overall pretty happy
sigmar3
I realised I hadn't posted any 'finished' photos of the rest of the girls so I took a few pics with my new camera phone and will post one a day (so as not to bore people) until the whole gang is up. Unfortunately I forgot to totally dust off the models so excuse any stray dust or fluff!

Maulwurfmann
These are very nice paintings, is there a hidden link to x-men rogue in the last picture ? You clearly have the skill but from what i can see on the pictures you could give their eyes a little more treatment they are lacking some contrast . Besides that point they are looking fantastic.
sigmar3
Cheers Maulwurfmann, you know I didn't even think of that (the X-Men) connection, just that I wanted to do something with the hair ha. But you are spot on with the eyes. I haven't had a lot of experience doing them... it's been ages since I have... and I liked these models too much to basically 'ruin' them with crossed eyes or whatever I would've done. But I do need to start practicing. Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it.
Sandmann
Easiest way to start practicing eyes is on minis where you can see only one of them No cross-eyed look possible then. But seriously, I actually greenstuffed additional hair one two of my Infinity models to have to paint only one eye on them, and it works.
sigmar3
Sandman you devious devil you, what a clever plan haha. I'll just have to knuckle down and start practicing and accept the results however they turn out. The last ronin and Student of Conflict today.
Maulwurfmann
Very nice love the color harmony with the green and the purple.
Butch
One way to paint eyes - and the one I useally forget - is to make dark/black eyeball and with a tip of white/bleacheb bone in the corners you can very much control the direction the eye ist aiming at. sigmar3
So there we have it, all the girls in their glory. Great experience painting them and I'm very happy with how they turned out.
