  1. Hey guys, I acquired a bunch of painted miniatures from a good friend a couple years back with intentions to get involved with the Wyrd world but unfortunately I have been so busy with work and school I was never able to do so. Can anyone with the knowledge let me know an approximate value of these? I'm clueless to what they are worth. Are the ones I have common? uncommon? rare? any help would be appreciated. I'm thinking of giving them to my nephew but if they realistically have some value I might just sell the entire collection to someone who might appreciate them and know more about them. there are a deck of cards and like 77 painted models. a couple are slightly broken need to be glued and there is dice and some stones and foam placement bag..please see photo album link. thanks for any insight on this guys! the gallery is here for all the images https://goo.gl/photos/r31tXPbir1WgcjiA9 below are just some quick photos
  2. Yo Wyrd! To celebrate the success of The Other Side kickstarter, are you guys going to go big at this years GenCon or what?????
  3. I was just wondering how to make sense of the release schedule on the "Upcoming" page. For example, the "Iconic Fate Deck" says "In stores August" but it's the end of September... everywhere I've looked still says Pre-Order only. Is this normal? When do these items actually become available? I just wanna throw my $$$ at you Wyrd! Why you messing with my emotions?!
  4. Had my first game with Parker tonight vs Gremlin Zoraida via Vassal. Deployment: Standard Strategy: Headhunter Schemes: Show Of Force Leave Your Mark Public Demonstration Set Up Convict Labor (Always) My List: (Took Leave Your Mark & Set Up-Fingers) Parker -- 4ss +Oath Keeper - 1ss +Scout the Field - 1ss +Tally Sheet - 1ss Doc Mitchell - 3ss Mad Dog Brackett - 9ss +Lucky Poncho - 1ss Hodgepodge Effigy - 4ss Hodgepodge Emissary - 10ss +Conflux Of Conflict - 0ss Ronin - 6ss Ronin - 6ss Sue - 8ss Gremlins: (Took Show of Force & Convict Labor) Zoraida -- 5ss +Hex Bag - 1ss Fingers - 10ss +Hide In The Mud - 1ss Survivor - 5ss Survivor - 5ss Survivor - 5ss Merris LaCroix - 6ss +Hide In The Mud - 1ss Sammy LaCroix - 7ss +Crystal Ball - 2ss +Hide In The Mud - 1ss Slop Hauler - 5ss Caveats (and excuses ) - I knew going in that I was playing Head Hunter and that all my ranged attacks would work against me, but didn't really care as I wanted to try out the crew anyway. I screwed up quite a few things, mainly in the way of forgetting draw card auras, gain soul stone on discarding an upgrade once, etc, but it's a learning experience. Reasons for crew selection: I only took 1/2 a bandit crew (Parker, Doc, Mad Dog) to ease my learning process as I knew I would make initial mistakes and already had all of Parkers upgrades to potentially worry with. The other 1/2 of the crew was just a test for Soul Stone/Card draw gain with models I knew functioned well. Ronin could self-sac to deny heads and gain me cards/ss. effigy could 0AP to buff Parker for SS gain and provide soft cover. Emissary could help boost my own scheme drops if needed, or feign Convict Labor as well as cast at range to ignore cover and pass out trinkets to make my models more effective (like regen on Sue and Companion on Doc). He could also 0AP to allow a mid turn card draw for the cost of 1SS. Sue could allow more card draw, and do his usual tool box tricks and anti-cast auras as needed (which helped vs Zoraida & Sammy immensely). I chose the upgrades on Parker that I did as I could burn 2 of them (for SS gain and use) while replacing them with his 0AP Five Finger Discount during the turns. I knew going in I was basically forfeiting Show of Force though with my lack of adequate upgrades, but as I had not taken Set Up once since it came out I said screw it. That, and I purposely chose Fingers as he can heal, change my markers to his (not a big deal for Parker to turn them back), and has a Chatty aura, so figured he would be around long enough and that my opponent wouldn't see it coming...and I was right on that. Match - The game ended a 6-6 tie that we called on Turn 5 as we were both tired and it was a fun game overall, so I was happy to end it there. Could have gone either way had we had more turns though. I'm not going to give a play by play of the game as it's very late and I'm very tired, though I will try to give a more detailed report next time I do one of these. First and foremost, I liked the crew. I didn't get the most out of Parker or Mad Dog, but Emissary with Doc beside him for +Flips from the Conflux upgrade kept my crew alive way longer than it should have been. Parker scored full points for Set Up turn 3 by first having Mad Dog kill something at range (drops a friendly scheme marker when he kills something), and then Parker hit Sammy to drop an enemy scheme marker, ending the activation by discarding 2 cards to turn nearby enemy markers to friendlies for the scoring points. Parker's ability to drop enemy scheme markers kept screwing up my opponent. I kept hitting his gremlins and dropping his own scheme markers near his Convict scheme markers denying him points due to proximity (my opponent lamented not taking Sammy's move markers upgrade). An uncontested Ronin on the southern part of the map ran up a flank to score 2 of my Leave Your Mark schemes (until Fingers said enough and ran like hell down to stop it). I thought the crew and the game was fun, but a head spin for me trying to not only keep up with all the multiple layers of card/ss cycling. It was difficult to not forget one bonus here, or to figure out which upgrade to grab there, though that will come with time. I found a strong need to balance which upcoming model/action is most needed as the crew is card hungry for things like moderate to high cards or discarding for abilities. This crew is definitely going to reward knowledgeable players who take the time to learn which upgrades/actions to use when.
  5. I contacted Wyrd regarding this but is yet to receive a response, so was hoping the forums can give me an answer. Jaakuna Ubume was listed under the June releases, but I have been unable to find any online stores that have her in stock, she is still listed as a pre-order on miniaturemarket, and she isn't available at all on the Wyrd store. When will we be able to purchase her ?
  6. Per the title. Would love to see a box set featuring 2 Freikorps Trappers and another with 3 Freikorps Librarians (because Librarians are baller enough to want that many of them).

  12. I've decieded I'll start a blog on this here site, it seems to make sense being as most of my hobby focuses around Wyrd games. I also run a blog on Wordpress, so it'll be the same post as on here, if I like posting here more I might move over altogether, but will see for now. First up, a look back on my hobby for the past year seems to be a decent place to start..... I've been meaning to do a little look back on what I've been up to last year in both gaming and painting, as much as for myself as for the blog. It being a fair old while since my last post I thought I'd better. Thinking back to the start of 2015 gaming wise I was still playing a lot of Molly and got my highest placing of the year at the leauge of Extraordinary Henchman in January (6/30). I played in four tournaments from Jan to March, LoEH sat and sun, Vapnartak and Lemonentry, using Molly in 3 and Viks in 1. I then had a massive tournament hiatus not going to another one until September, playing a lot of Guildball in the time between as well as Malifaux. I sold most of my Resser collection in the spring and then learnt how to play Kirai, using her in tournaments for the rest of the year. Attending From the Shadows, Drunken Monkey, Into the Quarantine Zone and the UKGT 2015. Best result from these was probably the UKGT, finishing 32/88, winning 4/7 games. Favourite tournament of the year was the UKGT, it was an awesome weekend, as weekend events tend to be, 7 great games and the social side was amazing, not least because the of the awesome night out on the Saturday. I must say 2 day tournaments are by far my favourite because of the total immersion you enter into, but these are few and far between for me due to family commitments etc which makes them all the more special. So a total of 8 Malifaux tournaments in 2015 which is fairly low considering 2014 was 10. I have a feeling there'll be more for me this year. Non-malifaux and Guildball gaming consisted of family gaming, Puppet Wars (fricking love this game) a game of Dreadfleet and the usual board style games, Forbidden Island, Dobble, Takenoko, Small World, Ticket to Ride, Love Letter, Zombicide etc. Painting has been pretty lacklustre this year for me I think. The year started with me finishing of a 30K Worldeaters army commission Another Commission in the form of a high level Fisherman team for Guildball After this I decided I was giving up commision painting for several reasons so focused back on painting up my own models. I Painted up a couple of Puppets Also a full Puppet crew, in a week, to play Malifaux in the GT Did some Dreadfleet terrain and other bits (not finished) Painted and textured some boards to make a gaming table Made myself a paint rack Put together two Guildball teams, made a goal and painted one model Painted some random Malifaux models that needed finishing And pretty much finished painting the whole of my Kirai crew So actually looking at it like that I've just convinced myself I haven't been too unproductive with the painting/hobby in 2015, I just haven't painted many Malifaux crews I guess. Awards for painting in tournaments? Well, I entered into 4/8 best painted competitions of the tournaments I went to (really seems like more than that, actually shocked that it's that low!) Of the 4, I won best painted once with my Viks crew and placed 2nd in best painted trinity of models. 1/4 and 1 2nd place isn't bad at all, happy with that. Next up I think I'll write a post on what I'll be planning on doing in the coming year and my aims/goals for it, so until then! Bye

  24. So, with January's releases being posted*, and Yan Lo's box pending in February, that leaves only ten more models from Storm of Shadows to be released between March and GenCon, less once we know what else is releasing with Yan Lo in February. [I think they may have been listed on another thread somewhere.] The short list is: Guild Pathfinder and Clockwork Traps Toshiro, the Daimyo and Yin, the Penangalan, for Rezzers Ama No Zako; Freikorps Strongarm Suit; Vanessa, Treasure Hunter for Outcasts and Bert Jebsen, Gracie, and Wong, for Gremlins [Because like it or not, they're the real sixth faction Ten Thunders are the seventh.] * http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?38009-January-Releases So what surprises does Wyrd have in store for us to tide us over until GenCon? I know there was talk about fluff being published outside of the yearly book. The Through the Breach Kickstarter is going strong, but we likely won't see the end results until GenCon. Puppet Wars is getting an overhaul with new rules going along with its transition to plastics: Unstitched. Maybe we'll see older crews transition to plastics as well? Speculations?
