We're currently updating the site and a few things may run slow or not as expected at the moment. Give us a day or two to get everything sorted out and changed up if you would.

One of the new things you'll see about are the 'sticky notes' which you will occasionally see from the site Admins if something important shows up or is newsworthy, or if you happen to be in one of our many beta testing groups giving you an additional heads up when something new needs to be looked at or sorted.

You can send these amongst yourselves as well if you wish, just don't abuse it.

Thanks for your patience!

  1. UPDATE!! By some reason the gallery shrink image, so here's the original link http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/earl_marlok/9615432/18106/18106_original.jpg Short prehistory of model: "In the service of the Guild are many terrific servants whose main objective is to enforce the laws of Guild. And without a doubt Peacekeeper - is the most monstrous of them. This enormous expensive mobile bastion has thick armor, four deadly hands and is lead on the battlefield by power of dozens soulstones. It's unstoppable, knows no fear and strikes it in the hearts of enemies. Production aimed at maximum efficiency and is not intended to decorate these deadly machines, but there are always exceptions. Governor-General has three personal Peacekeepers, which act as bodyguards while he has a trip to the dangerous area. And for his unrivaled vanity these constructs were decorated by the best and most talented blacksmiths and jewelers, which were specially brought from the Earth. So its' value is far beyond the imagination. But there was a glimpse or a legend about the fourth Peacekeeper. The Governor-General had a daughter. Or so he believed. And for the safety of his little girl he ordered to make a very special bodyguard with very special protocol that modulate consciousness and appropriately decorated. Very few saw that creature but no one - the daughter of Governor-General..." At first I wanted to create a large base with chary blossoms but realized that I don't have time for this. The main idea of this composition was the question in which the subject can be both a bird and a peacekeeper) About the bird - on the second photo it's terrible, I tried very hard to depict it realistic, but it blinked like a piece of ... pink. pink of course)I hope you will enjoy this model like I did while I painted it))
  2. Howard Langston: worth deputizing?

In the upcoming Black Friday sale season, the wife is going to be grabbing herself a Miss Step. This means that I'm going to get a free Howard Langston out of her MSU box. I was planning on getting Hoffman at some point in the next few months, so I'm pretty happy with the deal. That being said, he is very similar to the Peacekeeper. The defensive stats don't mean much; either way, the big guys are going to be power loop'd pretty much all the time. I can give the Peacekeeper Nimble with the Hydraulics modification. The big differences are the decap trigger on Langston's claws (which is pretty sweet) and Steam Cloud vs the Peacekeeper's harpoon gun and Advanced Protocol. Has anyone had experience with the two of them? Is Langston worth the upgrade slot for Arcanist Ties and the extra Soul Stone?
  3. Perdita Questions

I’m interested in starting Malifaux and I have a few questions about Perdita that I hope someone can help me with. I’ve noticed that there does not appear to be any recent battle reports with her or much discussion on the boards either, is there a problem with her or the Ortega crew? What additional models would you suggest to add to her crew at higher SS amounts? Probably facing Viks, Rasputina, and Pandora. What’s the opinion on the Peacekeeper? That’s one purchase that will be added above and beyond any suggestions. I’m thinking Neon Green (with glitter), flames, and a hinge between the legs and the body. Even if the model is lousy, I can add it in to any “fun” matches. Thinking about it, I’m pretty much putting together this entire crew so I can move the Peacekeeper down the board, bouncing up and down as if on hydraulics, while singing “Oye Como Va”…sigh. Any suggestions on how to make a Peacekeeper work in a Perdita crew? Thanks, Avon
  4. Start of a Hoffman Crew

Funny idea of Peace - Malifaux Guild Peace Keeper Not sure what got me started on doing up my Hoffman crew, it might have just been wanting to see if I could put cool flared smokestacks on the Peace Keeper like I made for my Robogear Spider or just wanting to rush through a crew simpler to paint than McMourning's. In any case yes I totally can fit on two badass smoke stacks on the Peace Keeper in place of the stubby ones it comes with. I made the smoke stacks from Evergreen plastic tubes. I measured some marks on the top and snipped with side cutters to get the crown top then filed to clean it up before heating it a bit and mushing it with pliers to flare it out before more sanding to clean it up again. Then a strip of plastic sheet was wrapped around it under the crown and rivets added with plastic rod. Making it all from styrene made life easier to glue it all together with plastic cement. So much less hassle than super gluing on rivets on a metal figure. Which is why I glued down a strip of plastic sheet along the center of his carapace and added more rivets to that. After assembling the stacks I super glued them in place and added a spacer between them to make them a bit more solid. The next big conversion on this guy is that the stock legs are just tiny and in an extreme lunging crouch. I guess it gives it a low center of gravity but it seemed to me to have one too few joints for a working set of legs. So I decided to copy the top segment from an AT-ST leg and made some from lasercut MDF leftovers from a building kit (think these were the bits inside the window frames). I rounded the ends, drilled holes to take pins from the hip and the legs and added heaps of bits of plastic card to detail them up. Plus I added some hex bolts from a Kotobukiya options sprue. These can be bought from online or if you're lucky your local hobby store around the Gundam kits. Also digging through the off cuts bag I found some broken wagon wheels so thought I'd put one to good use on the base to let him stand on something and have a touch more height. The cactus is from Pegasus Hobbies. Next on the converting list was getting the spear gun into a more sensible position than sticking out wide horizontally from the body in front of the close combat claw arm behind it. So I put the support arm vertically on the back socket and did some pinning to get the gun into position. Maybe it needs some extra hydraulics to make it look like can tilt a bit more I think it's much better where I put it. The other arms I posed in forward and back to counter the stride of the legs so it looks like there is some more movement to the mech. I had to cut back the wrist sockets so I could get the hands to co-operate with the new arm positions. Now for a little turn on the catwalk: Bit like a big robot genestealer isn't it? From the front on shots you can really see how much difference my leg mods made to the height and stance of the robot, he'd be dragging with claws along the ground otherwise. I'm working on cleaning up the rest of the crew now, will put them in the next post then on to paint.
  5. So after a long hiatus (PP's Cygnar Stormwall in 4 days took a lot from me), I'm back to painting my Malifaux minis. I recently got the Vikorias Mercenary Crew, the Peacekeeper and the Warden. Here's Gun Vik: I used WYRD"s new Asian Zen Base for the Gun Vik. She could almost pass as a Guild Guardsman. I had fun painting her until I had to paint her eyes... I hate painting eyes. Here's the Warden: I had an extra 40mm Sewer base and used that as the Warden's base. I think I overdid the blue wash but as it dried out, I think the color matched the artwork on the blister box... so not bad. As you can see, my dry brushing was a bit rusty and ended up fully covering the whole body. So I compensated with dry brushing highlights and thankfully, the wash came out good. Here's the Peacekeeper (base WIP): Let me just say, the Peacekeeper was the most frustrating model I built and painting EVER. This includes my Cryx army (Bane Thralls, Mortenebra, etc) and my Pan-Oceania Infinity army. I can tell you how many times I wanted to Hulk Smash this model or toss it out of the window. Anyhow, I was able to do proper dry brushing on the Peacekeeper. I stuck with the gold and sliver scheme and just did some retouching on the spots where my green stuff tried to hold the Peacekeeper together. By the time I finally had him built, it was already 1:30 am. So the base will be completed tonight. I plan to put snow on his base. Anyway, it feels great to get back into painting. I still have the rest of Viktoria's crew, my Levi Crew, Desolation Engine, Miss Terious and my Von Schill crew on deck. Thoughts, comments and suggestions are appreciated.
  6. Since some have been receiving their pre-orders, I got a glimpse of the Warden model http://www.wyrd-games.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=6555 It looks like it's a single model for $18.00 MSRP. Comparing it to the Peacekeeper at $25.00 MSRP. So far, I have used up my minis budget (thanks to the Stormwall) and I only have room for around $30. My question is: Which Construct would you buy? The Warden or the Peacekeeper? A bit of a background: I have the C.Hoffman box and Ryle. That totals out my Construct crew. Sop does a 5SS $18.00 Warden beat the 9SS $25.00 Peacekeeper? Please provide reasons why you chose one over the other. Thanks!
