  1. Guude! (For foreigners I should say "Good Day!) My name is Hannes and I've recently become the Henchman for Marburg in Hesse. This is why I thought I should introduce myself. I'm a teacher at a school for blind and visually impaired children here in Marburg and I've been playing tabletop games for about 15 years. I started with GW's 40k, then sought more tactical depths in their Fantasy setting - which then got a new edition with less tactical depth. After that I started to look out for other games and had to persuade my friends to join me. It took some time but with Warmachine I was lucky to infect the people around me. Me and some friends created a nice community and I started to visit some tournaments. One of this friends one day brought along some Malifaux rules right as the first 10T plastics were released. I was totally hooked by Yan Lo and all the other beautiful models. The first few games of Malifaux (still with the 1.5 ruleset) were nice, but I was not completely sold on the rules. Gladly the M2E beta started soon and I totally fell in love with the game. I played less and less Warmachine and focused on Malifaux. Sadly life made my small community who met regularly drift away and I got only few games in for a short time. Luckily I came back to my old 40k community here in Marburg which had changed a lot. We created a club Multiversum Marburg e.V., found a location to meet in and now have regular meetings every week. I got some people to start Malifaux and some people to get out their old Malifaux miniatures. With the arrival of a new player from Cuxhaven I and some people from our club started to go to tournaments. In March we'll have our first local tournament. For that we are building even more beautiful terrain - thanks to @Nimo we are really spoiled with beautiful tables and custom made terrain. Right now I mainly play Malifaux but still own some 40k which I haven't played for several years. I sometimes get back to Warmachine but I'm not into it right now. For fun games I sometimes take out my Joker Crew for the Batman Miniatures Game. My Malifaux collection escalated a bit during the last year and I now own all of the Rezzers and 10T and have started to get into Neverborn. Last year I focused on playing Rezzers, this year it will be mainly 10T I think. Our community holds events quite regularly and we've just finished our Mortheim Winter Campaign. Next will be a small Lord of the Rings growth league and a Shifting Loyalties Campaign for Malifaux in summer. We'll try to host a tournament every 3 months. We are always open for visitors, especially on Thursdays, starting at 1800 in the Spielebrücke in Marburg. Feel free to contact me if you want to play (also outside our regular meetings) or if you want me to demo you the game.

  7. If you're interested in checking out Malifaux in the Rochester area, this is the perfect opportunity to do so. You don't need to bring anything, but if you have your own crew to play that is great too. We will have several painted crews on hand for people to play and get a demo of the game. As this is a new player event the emphasis is going to be on simplicity. Expect the total duration of a game to last 45 minutes to an hour. 14. Hello peeps, the Dutch Malifaux Guild under the auspices of yours truly is organizing a fun end-of-the-year tournament in Houten, near Utrecht. Date: Dec 28. Time: starting at 10AM. We're at a local school ( Basisschool de Brug, Beverakker 19, Houten ), which we have all to ourselves. We've currently got about 10 people coming, but more are welcome. Some people will actually be playing their first game and we'll have a mini tournament for them. Bring a 50ss (or 30ss if you're beginning) crew - it's a fixed crew, so you're playing the same master every round. If you want to sign up, drop me a line here, or visit us on our Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/groups/DutchMalifauxGuild and check the FauX-mas event we put up there. Eggnog provided by the Guild (rationed). Sebastian
  15. Yessss, December is here. Cold, sure, but that's why we have fairs. Midwinterfairs, even. Welcome to Archeon, the historic park in Alphen aan den Rijn. Come out for a game of Malifaux as one of your many activities for the day!! What do you need? Exactly nothing, good sir, madam! You come, I provide the mini's, the table and the fate decks, all you have to do is listen to me harp on about how awesome Malifaux is, and maybe you'll learn how to pick up the rules while you're at it! So come to Alphen next week. Saturday I'll be there, Sunday my fellow henchman Tim will be there. Contact me here on the Wyrd site, or visit the Dutch Malifaux Guild on facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/DutchMalifauxGuild
  16. So you want to play Malifaux? Well, you're in luck. I've been playing for over seven years and I have crews, and plenty of scenery to give you and up to 3 of your friends a demo in Malifaux. I usually demo at my home in Amersfoort, but also at Het Lab (Labyrinth Gaming) in Utrecht. March 2015 I founded the Dutch Malifaux Guild. If Amersfoort/Utrecht is just a tad too far for you, look us up online and find someone else to play with in your own area. Please leave me a message here, drop me a line on direct message or find me on Facebook and I'll make sure we find a good time to play your first game on the other side of the Breach! Sebastian
  17. Want to learn the game? We have a small group of about 6 people who are interested already in learning the game - so come on out here to Amersfoort. I'll be demo'ing as Henchman and member of the Dutch Malifaux Guild. Meet some other friendly folks who just bought their first crew OR are completely new and will be borrowing one of mine. No experience necessary. We are coming together in the old bakery at St. Bonifaciusstraat 1 in Amersfoort and are starting at 10 and going until about 5 or 6. I'm trying to give everyone their own time slot, so if you are interested individually or as a couple, it would be helpful if you drop me a line here first. Snacks and drinks are free! Can't come but want to find a game or activity someplace else? Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/360545410806520/

  19. I've search YouTube for hours plenty of times. I just cannot find any demo vids showing how to play 2e. Sure there are a few intro videos but nothing that shows how to fully play Malifaux 2e. I would have thought someone would have video recorded a Henchman demoing 2e at a game store somewhere. It would be amazing to have a demo series of videos!
  20. The Dutch Malifaux Guild is proud to present our third game day. We've got about 70 members and 15+ have already confirmed with us. Never before have we seen such a large group come together! 23. So I'm trying to plan ahead for a campaign - I think I'd like to use Rusty Alyce. However unlike Leveticus she doesn't have free access to ALL THE THINGS (pariah of stuff upgrades) so is more limited in some ways. Obviously the waifs are of no use so I have 4 abominations, killjoy and a desolation engine and a freikorp specialist. However this doesn't give me a lot of variety and killjoy and the engine are quite expensive - especially for low SS cost games. Any ideas what sort of models I should be looking at? VonSchill box for DAS FREIKORPPENZ or ... ?
  24. I am going to try and become a Henchman for my local LGS when the process reopens this fall and had a question on what set to get. I personally will be getting the "Bound by Law" Lucius set. Why you ask? Lucius, enough said. However, I would need to get a second set to be able to demo the game and teach others to play. I plan to get the 2-Player starter set as well to "intro" them into the game, then move on to full fledged crews. The problem I have is that I am not sure what is a "balanced" set to get to oppose him in terms of showcasing the game. I have some ideas of the other Masters I would like to get for myself if I ever dare deviate from the warm embrace of The Guild but I am not sure if they are adequate for the Henchman process. So I turn to you, Forum of the Wyrd, in your infinite and sometimes conflicting wisdom to help me decide what set to get to play and have played against our most beloved Secretary. Let me know what you think, and if you could write a "why to get this one" to help me understand why they are the one to get. As Always, The Grue
