  1. Let it Faux, Let it Faux, Let it Faux!

It’s a Malifaux Christmas (or other seasonally-appropriate holiday of your choice)! As part of the 2018 Atlanta Tabletop Reindeer Games, we’re presenting a three-round Christmas (etc.)-themed holiday Story Encounter on Saturday, December 9. Bring a 40-Soulstone Crew and play as many rounds as you like – participating in all three rounds makes you eligible for some special swag from Wyrd Games, but everyone’s a winner! Entry to the Reindeer Games requires either a $5 donation or an unwrapped toy; there is an additional $15 donation for the Malifaux tournament. All donations will be going to Toys for Tots. In addition to the Malifaux, there will be events for Warmachine/Hordes, Magic the Gathering, Hearthstone, a painting competition, painting classes, prize raffles, plenty of tabletops for open gaming, and much more! Not to mention food (while it lasts!). Come have fun, play games, give to a great cause, and help make sure everyone gets to have a merry Christmas (etc.)! 3. Homefront: Georgia

Welcome to Homefront: Georgia! This will be a low-commitment league running parallel with Wyrd's global Homefront campaign. What does that mean? It means, by joining the league you will play games of Malifaux and report them to Wyrd as normal per the Homefront campaign rules, but you will also be eligible for some fantastic awards at the end! Further, you will report your games to me as well and I will keep statistics regarding Georgia’s contributions to the campaign so we can see how we stack up to the overall results. Exciting! To participate in the league all you need to do is inform me that you wish to participate and play games of Malfaux. That's it. No entry fee required, no minimum number of games to play, and you may join at any time. Games do not need to be played at any specific venue, although Giga-Bites is a prime location for obvious reasons. Also, for any players participating in TFL, feel free to play those games as part of this league as well! Two birds with one stone! Note: when playing a TFL game you cannot opt to use the 'special scheme' for the 2 week block - see below. Remember, all games must conform to Wyrd’s campaign rules (aka, 5 games max per 2 week block, etc.) and both players must be participating in the league in order for games to count towards league scores. Other than that, have fun and defend the Homefront! Awards: League Champion – Most games won throughout the league. World Traveler – Most games played during the league, win or lose. The Gentleman – Most favorite player votes. Group Photo – Best painted crew at the end of the league (more details to come). Wetworker – Most special schemes achieved during the league. Favorite Player Votes: At the end of every 2 week block each league participant can submit to me their vote for their favorite opponent during the block. The player with the most votes at the end of the league will be awarded The Gentleman award. Players may potentially receive multiple votes over the course of the league (1 per 2 week block, maximum 5 in total), so make sure to be pleasant and be a good sport! Special Schemes: At the beginning of each 2 week block I will select a Scheme from the GG2017 Schemes that will be the “Special Scheme" during the block. This Scheme will be available in the Scheme pools for all league games during the block on top of any other Schemes generated. If completed (aka max points are scored from the Scheme) you will earn a Wetworker point. The player with the most Wetworker points at the end of the league will earn the Wetworker award. Visit the Georgia Malifaux Facebook page for additional information or to schedule games. Games for the league can be played at Giga-Bites Gaming Cafe on Wednesday during regular Malifaux open play.

Each player will be given 10 scrip to hire models before the event starts. They may spend any amount of this scrip, or keep it for hiring on Sunday. They may use their left over scrip to buy upgrades, or hold onto it. Each day will have an event from the Shifting Loyalties book. All Schemes and Strategies will be drawn from the Gaining Grounds 2017 set, and will be announced 1 week before the event. Initial pairings will use players over-all records from the campaign. Each round will consist of ten minutes for pairings and set up, 1 hour and 40 minutes for games and 10 minutes for aftermath. Players will be able to begin playing as soon as they set up, and do not have to wait until the full ten minutes have passed. Tournament organizer will call "30 minutes left", last turn after 85 minutes, and last activation at 95 minutes, after which players will tally VP as though the turn and game had both ended. Players will perform the aftermath steps, and then report W/L/T, VP and differential to the TO. Players will not have access to the Cut 'Em Up for Parts, or the Good Doctor rules during the event. Three rounds will be played Saturday, and two Sunday, with winners determined by Tournament points, as described in the Gaining Grounds 2017 document. Players will be able to use any remaining scrip to hire models before play resumes on Sunday. Players may earn extra scrip for this event by playing against folks in their local group who still need games to get to their ten total games. The player who has already played their 10 games does not get scrip from the weekly event, for playing special scenario or from any other source, does not have to flip for Finished Off, accumulate injuries or make Barter flips, or other wise take part in the Aftermath step. The only exception is if they finish a bounty in which case they generate a aftermath hand and flip on the reward table. If a player who has reached their game cap plays someone who hasn't they earn 2 scrip which carries over into the two day event. This should only happen if their are no other players who have not reached their cap available.

  21. I apologize for my tardiness in posting this. Georgia Malifaux will be hosting a slow grow and painting league starting July 24th. Each week will see slightly larger games until we reach 50 soulstones. The rules are simple: pick a faction, play games using either Gaining Grounds 2016, standard encounter, or story encounters (icluding those found in issues of Chronicels), report your results (W/L/T). Wins are 3 points, Ties 2 point, Loses 1 point. You also score points for painting models. One model, 1 point. It's that easy. At the end prizes will be awarded to everyone who scored more than 15 points, from what ever sources, most wins, best painted, and best in faction. Report games here in the group, and post pictures here as well. Schedule is as follows: Week of July 24th: 25 points, Henchman led crews Week of July 31st: 30 Points Henchman or Master led Week of August 7th: 35 points Week of August 14th: 40 Points Week of August 21st: 45 points Week of August 31st: 50 points
