  1. November Malifaux Monthly Tournament! - Houston, Texas Date: Saturday, November 11, 2023 Start time: 11:00am Location: Dragon's Lair Houston North Address: 21155A State Highway 249, Houston, Texas 77070 It’s time once again for the monthly Malifaux Tourney at Dragon’s Lair Houston! We’ve had some great turnouts for our monthly tourneys all year long and had the AMAZING Lonestar Fauxdown Malifaux GT last month–let’s keep that momentum going and have another fantastic tourney! We’ve been officially using clocks for the last few months and everything has been going smoothly, so I wanted to remind everyone that we will continue to officially use clocks in a full way for this event! I have enough clocks to provide them for the normal number of players we have at our monthly events, so no need to worry about that. You can find the rules document we will be using for the clocks at this link: https://tinyurl.com/LonestarMalifauxClocks I will continue to be VERY liberal with my proxy policy for models from the Madness of Malifaux book which have rules released but not physical models (several have come in recently at Dragon’s Lair, so you can pick them up while you’re there!). Proxies for these models will be acceptable so long as they are on the correct base size and you inform your opponent in advance what the proxy model is representing. As always, painting is not required. In case you missed it, there was recently an errata released for the Big Hat keyword, so make sure you have the most up to date information for your crews: https://www.wyrd-games.net/news/2023/10/25/waldos-weekly-a-big-hat-rework There was also an errata and FAQ released a couple of months back, so make sure you’re up to date there if it’s been a little while since you’ve dusted off your crews: https://www.wyrd-games.net/news/2023/7/26/waldos-weekly-july-faq-and-errata-update We're booked for tournaments the 2nd Saturday of every month at Dragon's Lair in their new space, so block out that day on your calendars in perpetuity! If you’re not familiar with the amenities at Dragon's Lair they also have their Tabletop Tavern, so you can enjoy a beer while playing some Malifaux and have a tasty bite in between rounds! This event will be a three round, 50 Soulstone, fixed faction tournament utilizing the Malifaux 3rd Edition rules. Registration will begin at 11:00 AM. Round 1 will begin as close to 12:00 PM as possible. This tournament will be making use of the Gaining Grounds Season Four document, which may be found at: https://www.wyrd-games.net/s/M3E_GG04_Rules.pdf There is no painting requirement for this tournament. Entry fee is $10 and goes entirely to prize support.

  10. April Malifaux Monthly Tournament! Date: Saturday, April 9, 2022 Start time: 11:00am Location: Dragon's Lair Houston North Address: 21155A State Highway 249, Houston, Texas 77070 It’s time once again for the monthly Malifaux Tourney at Dragon’s Lair Houston! We had an amazing turnout of 14 players last month and I would love to keep those awesome numbers up, and in the great new space that Dragon's Lair moved into we have plenty of room to grow! If you haven't been out to the new space for a game yet, you NEED to check it out—Dragon's Lair Houston, our home for Malifaux for the past 5 years, opened their new, improved, and MASSIVELY bigger store! They went from the 4000 sq. ft. store we've spent so much time in to over 10,000 sq. ft. of space! And conveniently the new space is in the same shopping center just 3 doors down from their old location—we have to walk slightly further for our mid-tourney margaritas now (until the liquor license for Dragon's Lair's new Tabletop Tavern goes through), but when you set foot in the new space you'll see that it's worth those few extra steps. Dragon's Lair Houston has been good to our community ever since I first started hosting tournaments there in March 2017, so let’s fill their awesome new space with awesome Malifaux players!! We're still booked for tournaments the 2nd Saturday of every month at Dragon's Lair in their new space, so block out that day on your calendars in perpetuity! 19. Warzone Houston is the largest miniature war gaming convention in Houston and this is the first year Malifaux will be a part of it with The Space City Malifaux GT running Saturday and Sunday! There are also more casual events on Friday and open gaming all weekend! Warzone Houston is taking place September 24 - 26 2021 at the Sam Houston Race Park Pavilion Center, in Houston, Texas One of my favorite things about this convention is that there is no general admission convention badge needed--all you need is a ticket for that day's Malifaux events to participate! Tickets can be purchased through the WarZone website or at the event itself (ticket sales will open in early June). Registering ahead of time guarantees your spot and helps the organizers plan ahead. We have three days of awesome Malifaux events planned for Warzone: Friday, September 24th Houston Horsetrack Henchman Hootenanny- There’s honestly no need to hold your horses another hour, it’s high time you hopped to it and high-tailed it to this hoedown! Join us for hilarity and hijinks--hex and harm the heartless harridans who hinder your heart’s honorable hopes. Will your heroic henchman hoist the highest honor or will your horrible hubris halt your hopes? Find out at the Houston Horsetrack Henchman Hootenanny! And of course it starts at high-noon! This event will use the Henchman Hardcore rules from the Gaining Grounds Season Two packet. Racetrack Rumble- Bring your favorite enforcer or minion to this battle royale brawl! This fun, casual play format is great for new players or players who want to socialize with a beer and a game of Malifaux. This event will use the All Out Brawl rules from the Gaining Grounds Season Two packet. Malifaux 3rd Edition Open Play- Didn’t get into town in time to take part in the events? Come and get in a pick-up game with another one of the other stragglers at one of our lovely tables (seriously, these are some great looking tables that you'll want to play on)!! Saturday, September 25th and Sunday, September 26th Space City Malifaux 3rd Edition 2 day Grand Tournament!- 5 rounds of Malifaux spread over 2 days--test your skills and compete in the Iron Scorpius or battle it out for placing top 3 or HECK… go for both and prove you are the true Master of Malifaux! The Space City Malifaux GT is a 5 round, 50 soulstone fixed faction tournament. Players will declare their faction when they check in with the organizer on Saturday. Scoring will follow the rules outlined in the Gaining Grounds Season Two packet. Registration for all events will be opening soon, so keep your eyes on this space so that you know as soon as tickets go live!
