  1. From the album: Demi's mini den

Something simpler. :) Blood effect created with hot glue.
  2. From the album: Demi's mini den

The very first miniature I have painted and with which the whole hobby began in January 2022. :D The color scheme follows the exact order of my partner to whom the crew belongs to, as he wanted to make the whole Redchapel gang "vampire/Bluebeard" themed. Base handcrafted out of Fimo Air Light clay, a great material but horrible to use in such a small scale.

  4. Hey there! I'm Demi, relatively new to this hobby which was introduced to me by my partner. He's into the wargaming part of Malifaux, I happily overtook the painting part from him. I am greatly inspired by EonsofBattle and Squidmar Miniatures on how to become better at this new hobby. I'm using Vallejo Game Air paints (without airbrush), Italiery 5/0 and 10/0 brushes and a Mucoplant bottle as painting stand. Bases are made of trash and Fimo Air light clay. Seamus was my first crew ever painted (miniature-wise, although I have been painting as a hobby for a couple years now) and I feel like I have already came a long way since this crew, thanks to almost daily practice which I greatly enjoy. I'll upload the rest of the rest of the minis later separately. Now, the Seamus crew, asked to revamp them as... Well, vampires. In coloration, at least. Specifically asked to use this dead red and light blue in the crew as a theme. Seamus, the very first: Copycat Killer, conveniently stabbed in someone's back: Rotten Belle Nr. 1, "Susan": Rotten Belle Nr.2 (this I am particularly not proud of, the wash overspilled...): Rotten Belle Nr. 3, lamp post made of a lollipop stick and clay: Madame Sybelle: Let me know what you think!
  5. What has been successful for you guys? What does turn 1 look like for everyone? Especially interested in Reva player, what does turn 1 look like for set up? Molly? McMourning? If you find success in your games and think you have a good turn 1 that sets you up for success, I would love to hear it! I currently just double pulse out focus to the entire crew (with any master), its nice but I think there might be better out there.
  6. Greetings, Ladies and Henchlemen! I´ve got a few questions about Seamus´ Bonus Action "a cause for celebration" and Cassandras Action "upstage". In particular, how those actions work with specific kinds of restrictions. Since i couldn´t find the topic in detail elsewhere, I decided to post it here. If it is somewhere out there, please don´t hesitate to jast put in the links below. A Cause for Celebration: "This Action can only be taken if this is the Crew´s Leader. This model may remove target Corpse Marker on the enemy table half. This model may take an Action. If this model removed a Corpse Marker from this Action, the generated Action may ignore any special requirements listed in italics." I highlighted the most important wording "special requirement", because that is, where the following questions are heading. The first question regarding the mentioned Bonus Action is, if it can be used to take Seamus´action .50 Flintlock an additional time, since the .50 Flintlock hast the restriction of Once per Activation. The reason why I ask, is, that the Rulebook - PDF page 23 Part "Special Restrictions (white box)" - is referring to "X only" as a restriction. Thats why I assume, that restrictions are something different from requirements (mentioned in "A Cause for Celebration"). If that would be true, the Flintlock Italics "Once per Activation" would occur to me as some sort of restriction, and thus not be possible to be ignored through " A Cause for Celebration". Therefor: Are special requirements different than special restrictions? Is there some sort of hirarchy? Like, are speciel requirements subtypes of speciel restrictions, or are they used synonymously? The second question is, if the Bonus Action "A Cause for Celebration" allows Seamus to take another Bonus Action? Since it allows you specifically to take another Action. I had this question appear during a game last night. My opponent, a very good player in our austrian meta believed, that the Action granted by the "A Cause for Celebration" Bonus Action could be any Action and therefor even another Bonus Action. The Rulebook - PDF Page 22 Part "Bonus Actions" (white box) - states, that a Model can only take one Bonus Action during it´s Activation. Another Page of the Rulebook - PDF Page 3 Part "Breaking the Rules" - states, that special rules on models have precedence over rules from the manual. But also, that rules that prohibit/prevent something take precedent over rules, that allow something. How does this work with "A Cause for Celebration"? Can I use " A Cause for Celebration" to take another Bonus Action (Maybe Blasphemous Ritual from the Upgrade Grave Spirit´s Touch) or even itself again, which would lead to an infinite loop of "A Cause for Celebration"? My point would be, that it is not in the intention of the devs to let such a loop happen. I would assume, that it is not possible to take another Bonus Action. Since "A Cause for Celebration" states "may take an Action", i think the player must decide between allowed possibilities. As an example for the contrary, my opponent brought up Shenlongs Action "The Dragon Commands It". The Dragon Commands It: "Friendly Monk only. Target may take the Interact Action or a Bonus Action." My opponent argued, that it would be possible for Shenlong to target himself, leading him to take another Bonus Action and then repeating the cycle until he cannot hit the TN anymore. My further questions refere to Cassandra Felton´s Action "Upstage". Upstage: "Once per Activation. Select one of the target´s Tactical Actions that does not Attach Upgrades or list a model by name. Friendly only. This Model may take the selected Action." It seems pretty clear, that she can go infinite with her on Upstage Action taking further Upstage Actions and so on (reasonableness aside). My third question is, if Cassandra is allowed to take a Bonus Action with Upstage in general and in particular, if she already used her finesse Bonus Action before? Would Cassandra also be allowed to take her Finesse Bonus Action, even, if she allready used Upstage to take a different Bonus Actio I know, that this is a lot of text and I hope, its clear, why I´m asking myself those questions. I would be very grateful to dive into the wisdom of the comunity or the devs to clarify those points. Also i apologize, if there are any major mistakes in the text above, since I´m not used to discuss such detailed questions outside my mothers ton With best regards, Takibaki
  7. This is my 3rd topic and its all about necromancers! I’ll upload my progress on ressurectionists slowly but surely. I started to paint the faction with the first miniature I bought for malifaux - Seamus the Red Chapel killer. Seamus is one of the best (in my opinion) when it comes to the model itself (just look at his nasty smile) and fluff. NOTE: I actually repaint Seamus as I didn't liked my previous result (painted last year). The old one looked like this: The new version felt faaaaar better, especially his face. Next coming are: - Carrion Emissary - Asura Roten - Mindless Zombies
  8. Hello fellow Wyrdos! I am coming back to the game after a hiatus midway through 2E. Between a close friend talking me back in, and a better gaming group locally, I am back to avoiding the Black Joker. Back with one major caveat this time; a self-imposed limitation for buying models. Last time I played, I had a very Pokemon-esque "gotta buy 'em all" mentality, which led to several still NIB models that were never built, let alone painted or put on a table. I would like to avoid that this time, and have decided to limit myself to only models that I can fit into my standard Malifaux Battlefoam bag (https://us.battlefoam.com/malifaux-bag-standard-load-out/, or 62 pre-cut slots and a pluck foam tray for larger models). From some preliminary perusing of the forums and podcasts, I believe I can get 6 Masters/playstyles over 3 Factions (Outcasts, Resurrectionists and Ten Thunders). This is a combination of what was available to me nearby, what looked fun to play and what caught my eye. I don't imagine that this limitation will be competitive in any real sense of the word. But it should be good enough to play locally and perhaps in a tournament in a larger city. I just want to know if there is something that I am drastically missing. Here is what I am looking to get so far, and some explanation where possible: OUTCASTS Crazy Cat Lady - couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab the old crazy cat lady when I found someone in the area had it for sale. Catelin Abernathy (Nightmare Hamelin) Almost full cat models (missing 4 Alley Cats, and will make a second Cat Princess) Benny Wolcomb Ashes and Dust - Still unsure about the Ashes and Dust. Seems like a good scheme runner for the list, that can also act as a scheme runner hunter, and hard to take out beater. This is the most flexible spot, but not sure what to replace it with. Also wary of using 3 spots for 1 ”model” Prospector Freikorps Librarian Super Soldier/Anti Obey – this was from some theoryfaux and forum discussion about pushing the hired master rule to the limit. I can also see a story where Parker and Zipp hire on the Viks and Von Schill to act as a distraction, while they secure the real prize. This also helps balance out the storage restrictions, as the list is only 5 models. Viks (Easter Bunny alts) Captain Zipp Parker Barrows Von Schill - the only one I am unsure about is Von Schill. I am happy with the other 4 masters, and felt Von Schill covered the most holes, with different equipment he can give himself. Open to suggestions on whether one of the other masters would be a better fit than him. RESURRECTIONISTS Molly’s Pirate Crew – love the idea of a pirate-themed crew, and the models look great Full Brine and Bones Box New Brine and Bones themed Rogue Necromancy Archie (when available, WarmaHordes Swamp Horror until then) 3 Crooligans – are all 3 necessary? The Forgotten Marshal Night Terrors – still not sold if they are needed, or maybe just 1 for the occasional summon? All Elite Seamus – Always wanted to play him in 2E, but didn’t like the look of the rest of his crew. Alt Seamus Little Lass as the Copycat Killer Alt Sybelle Carrion Emissary Mindless Zombies Bete Noire – not sure if she is worth a spot in the bag 1 or 2 Dead Doxy – how often do you field both? 1 Gravedigger – pulse out focus, but is it too cute? Vincent St Clair – anti-summon tech for both lists TEN THUNDERS Honeypot and their Hired Muscle Jakob Lynch Hungering Darkness 2 Beckoners 1 Depleted – in case of summon? Gwyneth Maddox 3 Illuminated – I can see fielding 1, maybe 2. 3 seems like a stretch. Kitty Dumont Alt Mr. Tannen Alt Mr. Graves 2 Samurai The Lone Swordsman 1 Kabuki Warrior Shadow Emissary Yasunori Yan’s Fam – bonus points for being able to drop in as a sometimes-Resurrectionist (and having some models that work well with Molly and Seamus) Yan Lo Chiaki Soul Porter 3 Gokudo – again, can see fielding 1, maybe 2. The third one seems like a stretch. Sun Quiang Manos Shenlong – seems like a good candidate for a reliquary on turn 1 Yin Izamu There we go, my “base” set of models. Is there anything that I am missing? Constructive criticism would be great. Depending on how it goes, I know that I would like to add Minako and her summons (whenever that box is released…). Space permitted, there may even be a way to sneak in a Shenlong list as well (more elite, like some of the recent lists from UK Nationals). If you are still reading, thanks. Sorry for the slog.

  11. Hey fellow ressers, i just re-read Seamus' A cause for celebration Bonus Action: A cause for celebration 2'' This Action may only be declared if this model is this Crew's Leader. This model may remove target Corpse Marker on the enemy table half. This model may take an Action. If this model removed a Corpse Marker from this action, the generated Action may ignore any special requirements listed in italics. So, cool assuming you removed a Corpse Marker on the enemy table half this lets you shoot twice, use secret passage even if you're not around blocking terrain or it lets you scare your own people. But that's not all ... at least i assume so, please correct me if i'm wrong. It also lets you charge while engaged (and even twice in one activation), Concentrate twice, Interact while engaged (or after disengaging) or disengage while you're not even engaged (HA! ... wait what?) I've never seen this mentioned before, so maybe i'm wrong but this also gets around the requirements (italics) of the generic actions right? Sure most of the time shooting twice is really nice, but maybe you just need to drop that last important marker while engaged. Also charging twice (even if engaged for one of those) seems really efficient. So didn't i see this mentioned before because it doesn't work, or just because everybody knows it and i'm just late to the party 😅 ... or was i just not looking hard enough?
  12. So I’ve just started this wonderful game - and now I’m finally ready for my first fight. I’ve gone with the Ortegas and tried playing around with still water fix for a swampy theme.
  13. Greetings everyone. This is it, the time has come for me to pick my first master. I still can't decide if I will start with Reva or Seamus. I like both miniatures (with a preference for Reva), I've read a lot and enjoy both playstyles, so here is my question : 99% of my games will be played against my wife, who picked up Titania as her starter. We both play for fun, so I don't want to overhelm her every game, and I don't want to get crushed either. In your opinion, which of these two masters would be the most balanced opponent for Titania and why ? Thank You.
  14. A question about Seamus Sinister Reputation Upgrade. (1) Live for Pain - Heal this model an amount of damage equal to the damage the target suffers Question 1 - Does Seamus heal the amount of damage suffered before prevention via Soulstones or after? Question 2 - Does Seamus heal the amount of damage suffered before reduction from Armour etc or after? Question 3 - If the target only has 2 wounds remaining but Seamus does 3 damage. Would he heal 3 or only 2? Mcmournings Organ Donor - After this model inflicts damage with a MI action. It heals an amount of damage equal to the damage inflicted Question 4 - I'm assuming by the use of the word inflicted as opposed to suffered that the amount healed by this ability is calculated before prevention/reduction and is solely based on the amount of damage that Mcmourning puts out. Is this correct? Many thanks
  15. Heyo guys! So, days ago I asked for help, I couldn't choose between Guild and Ressers. Now, I'm sure I'm going to play Ressers but I'd like to know your opinion about the master. I'm having troubles choosing between Seamus and Reva. I like the first one because atm I play Perdita, and I enjoy doing big dmg shooting. Also, he comes with 3 rotten belles, so I will enjoy them for sure with most of the other masters. I really like his teleporting and blasting faces once per turn while the rest of the crew do their duties. Then, I like Reva because of her beating from distance through her corpse markers, and for the fact I guess she is a beatstick. I don't enjoy the fact that her box doesn't give that much for other masters. I mean, shieldbearers aren't that played in other crews as I saw. I enjoy her look as well. So, tell me everything you think could be usefull! Edit: I'm still new to the game, just tryin' to learn with Perdita.

  17. Hi everyone, what do u think about ressers in gg2018? Any thoughts? I'm playing with my friend (guild) on Sunday and looking for your help and suggestions: encounter setup: 50SS standard deployment strategy: ply for information schemes: always surround them hold up their forces undercover entourage show of force take prissoner I got: Seamus, copycat killer, madame sybelle, 3 rotten belles, 2 dead doxy, carrion emissary, 3 necropunks, 5 mindless zombies, yin, anna lovelace, archie
  18. Okay, a few weeks ago I tried getting my wife and a couple of mates into malifaux. I played a game against my wife (she used Colette crew), and it didnt go well, too many rules, too many abilites, too many objectives... far too much to take in. So fast forward to a couple of days ago and we went round to our mates house, tried a couple of games against each other there. It went a lot better! My wife played first, switching to a mixed crew led by carlos, and drew in a game against the vikorias. We all agreed to jsut play the... Strategy, rather than all the schemes too, so they got the kill 2 models a turn to get a VP mission, ended on 2 VP's each. Both enjoyed the game, so we took that as a huge success. Next up I played against our second mate. I had Seamus, CCK, 2 Rotten Belles, my new Alt model Sybelle, Bete noir, and a canine remains. Danny had his Tara box, which is Tara, katrina, nothing beast, and 3 void wretches. We didnt use upgrades, and because I was 2 SS higher, we agreed Danny should have 2 extra SS in his Cache. The board was seperated by a river (difficult terrain half move) across the middle that was 4" wide. There were two bridges across at either end of the board, then we had a TT combat huts set and the GW graveyard set as our terrain, so a few LoS blockers and a few fences that hindered movement (mine at least!). We got the stake a claim Strat and Corner set up. The opening phases had all of Taras crew heading Right (they started in the top left corner from my view), while I sent a belle and madame left and the rest of my crew across the bridge to take on Taras crew. Seamus and the CCK didnt cross the bridge but moved the the river edge and took a pot shot at the nothing beast, puting an early 2 wounds on him. My canine remains went too far fowwards, so Tara reactivated at their end and put 3 wounds on it (luckily I survived!). As Tara took the intative again, the nothing beast charged my poor dog, but whiffed all his attacks! Tara had been tempted forwards to try and kill the dog, so now my belle lured her out to me, allowing CCK to take a potshot (no luck), and then the dog to charge, putting 2 damage on her and 2 poison. Bete charged in (making the most of the dog still living and giving Tara -1DF), and put another... 4-6 wounds on her. The void wretches and Katrina moved up to support as did my belle. On the other side of the board my belle dropped a claim marker, then madame double walked onto the bridge at the other side of the board and called the belle to her, ready for next turns claim. Mid game the belle and madam continued their walk behind enemy lines dropping markers for the rest of the game. the fight i nthe middle had Tara kill bete noir (I messed up and should have let her be buried on 1W rather then hope to unbury her next turn before the voids could kill her while buried), and then turn and kill the dog. Seamus waded into the river, summoned a dead doxie from one of the bodies, then shot a wretch. The CCK finished off the wretch. My belle called Tara to her, allowing the dead doxie and the belle to pounce and kill her off. From this point it was just a case of mopping up the injured wretches and whittling down the nothing beast. all the time Seamus had been tanking wounds like a boss, then healing again with all the WP duels going on. End phase had Madam using her shriek blast to kill of katrina and finish off the nothing beast that was in the blast. The game ended with one wretch being alive and Danny having managed to drop 1 claim marker just over the line, while I had 4+ deep in his half. Was this match up jsut very unfair, or did he make some silly mistakes, did I do anything wrong? any thoughts really? We both really enjoyed it though, and I'll try to get some pics next time we play.
  19. Now on wyrds chronicles you can see the new upgrade for seamus and it is amazing. really a quality jump for seamus towards targeting wp playstyle
  20. Hi, super new player here. I've just started and for Resurrectionists I only have the Seamus box set and a box of Necropunks. In order to be able to add a bit of options I'm looking at expanding. I'm looking at getting another master box and one or possibly two smaller boxes. My current idea is to go for McMourning and Bete Noir. Any opinions or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  21. Hi I'm starting a Seamus crew for a growing league. The growth are: Period 1: 26 SS crew, 1. September - 31. october 2016 Period 2: 30 SS crew, 1. November - 30. november 2016 Period 3: 40 SS crew, 1. December 2016 - 31. january 2017 Periode 4: 50 SS crew, 1. februar til 31. marts 2017 i want to start out with a fixed list with fixed upgrades to slowly practise the Seamus tricks and the models. I'm considering Seamus: Sinister rep, red chapel og Corpse bloat. A bit much on upgrades, but I want to practise using them. Corpse bloat is to make sure I get the corpse markers i need in the later periods and for no eyes on me if the table doesn't favor Seamus Copy cat killer Nurse 2 rotten belles Probably not a strong list, but I see these models as my base to build on. Any suggestions? Thanks, Kim
  22. So I went away from the game for a year or so (playing starter-only 35ss games at the time) and now I'm back for Divergent Paths, with a few new models added to my collection. Here's the Seamus list I'm currently running. I've been told I should up the damage potential (The Hanged?) though for some reason I feel like getting better objective-grabbers i.e. Necropunks or Crooligans, maybe a Dead Doxy to compliment a Belle. My current collection's literally just the Redchapel box, Bete Noire and two dogs but I may or may not be able to acquire more before the event ends. Suggestions?
