  1. Thanks everyone for pitching ideas, all of them seem to have a lot of potential. @Angelshard That idea is amazing, I might combine it with the whole Barbaros tactic, so not only is it a pain to interact, but you pose a chance of losing the condition too
  2. Hey, so there's been a lot of negativity around certain factions and how they weigh up in certain scheme pools. So, rather than focussing on the disadvantages, I thought I'd make a thread highlighting tactics and benefits we learnt from the new schemes and strats as time passes. I had a game today, testing out a list for a tournament I'm participating in next weekend. The strategy was Ply For Information, so I ran Lilith, Graves, Doppel, Tannen, Lilitu & Barbaros, with a couple of other models. I feel that Barbaros is really strong here, I cheated iniative with the Doppel, before putting up Barbaros' challenge aura and gaining intel from a model around him. This meant the enemy model couldn't interact with Barbaros, and to gain intel, they usually had to pass the TN 14 WP Duel, which became a way of depleting the opponents hand. When combined with Rooting, Tannens Cooler (he was killed first after my opponent realised how frustrating Chatty & Cooler were) Lilitu's 4' whip and other elements, it was interesting to see how it played out. I haven't really tried any other tactics for the new year, but how is everyone else sizing up these new schemes and strats? If you have any good concepts, tactics or just advice for everyone, feel free to share. Hope this thread helps
  3. I entered a campaign a few months back, my starting list was, Barbaros, Bad Juju, a Waldgeist & A silurid. It faired up pretty well, people get really frustrated with the Walgeists trees. There Armour 2 means they are a pain to kill, so they bring durability to the crew. I also handed out rooted a few times from the card flip, which always helps. Silurids are great, many games one scored Claim Jump itself, so if any schemes from this year seem fitting, the Silurid achieves it with ease. My dad ran MacTavish (his win streak was incredible) and 5 gremlins I think, MacTavish has a solid shot with great range, so he can easily pick off scheme runners, or provide cover if needed. Having another swampfiend to boost his shot would be good, so it definately makes sense to play thematically. Juju was pretty good IMO, he maybe be slow, but he can punch really hard if the cards go in your favour. With upgrades, his Melee attacks gained a positive, so getting moderates became so much easier. I countered his slow walk with Barbaros and his pushes. Hope this helps, I ended up running Lilith, I really enjoyed it, especially when my waldgeist claimed rights to the relic hammer for the last game.
  4. Definitely entering this! -James
  5. Can't wait to see how these upgrades play out on the table. Zoraida interests me a lot now, and Pandora's ability to summon seems really fun Collodi could dish out a lot of damage now I bet, and Lilith's ability to heal things is probably better than the Shaman's and doesn't even require a card. I usually only run her with 2 upgrades so if it turns out to be effective there's room Thanks for writing out this thread, I'm really excited to see how all this works on the table top.
  6. Hey, With Pandora, you have two routes to go down, so Brawler Pandora seems like your best bet if you are starting out. Basically, you utilise Pandora's box, and take 'The Box Opens' limited upgrade and abuse her misery aura. Doppelganger is a great model in general and when combined with Mr Graves, she can push Pandora into the enemies face very quickly. You can then build around the schemes. Sorrow can scheme run, but they are reliant on other models, so Insidious Madness are great with WK7. I agree with the Prim Magic, as its amazing, and lilitu can lure models into position for more Pandora madness, plus misery from the lure! I hope this helped mate, Pandora's second build utilises many Neverborn models, such as Prim Magic, Nekima, Doppel who's a Neverborn staple. But build how you like
  7. Doppelganger is an amazing model to add, it provides a push for Lynch's crew, so Huggy can get in the thick of it quicker through copying Mr Graves. Pick up a Teddy too maybe, he works great with Kade, who's damage track goes through the roof if he's played right. You could also add a few scheme runners, maybe some Insidious Madness for Pandora, and Tots for Lynch (If you get the ace of masks, hold onto it, you won't regret a 20' sprint every turn for some insane board coverage. Hope this helps
  8. I wonder what Jakob Lynch will get? Something card orientated I bet. As for Pandora, it would be cool to see if she develops a slightly different play style because of it, or maybe she'll just have even more WP Duels to give off.
  9. Thanks you two I wanted to use Barboras, but I wasn't 100%, as I still really like the idea of Candy in a campaign. I never really considered Changelings, so I'll definitely have a look at their cards before the weekend as my local store has them I'm stock I was thinking of using Waldgeist instead of Madness, but thinking about their scheme running potential, I think I'll have to consider the madness too, especially if I want to use Pandora in the latter part of the campaign. Either that, or I could use Tots if I cannot get any Madness at the time, though I feel Madness would be better. Thanks again, I'll start considering a list and may ask for some more advice later.
  10. Hey, So I too recently started playing Malifaux and grabbed Jakob Lynch too. From the little experience I have, I'd recommend the Doppelganger for sure, she can do anything you cater her too. Beckoners are a good choice, I sometimes find them a little underwhelming, but they've payed of a few times for sure The same with Mr Graves, he can make Lynch more mobile with his push, whilst also being a pretty durable beater to help out Huggy. Ten Thunders are also great, due to their henchmen. 10T brothers are great scheme runners too, as you can help them become more survivable, by dropping and ace of a certain suite, before picking it back up Yin can produce Horror Duels and can go around with Huggy, or you could use Samurai for Ace fishing. Sensei Yu is also amazing, because he an push, give Lynch and other models fast and just be a versatile model. I hope this helped, sorry about the lack of Dreamer advice, I haven't played or looked at his rules yet.
  11. Hello, So, I'm still relatively new to Malifaux, and my local gaming store is holding a shifting loyalties campaign. I have an idea of how to fill some of the soulstone cost, but I'd like some advice on any last minute purchases that could help me out. I own: Jakob Lynch's crew, Pandora's crew, Lilith crew, Neverborn Starter Box, Graves, Tannen, Beckoners, Doppel, Iggy, Widow Weaver, Teddy, and some Waldergeist. I was thinking of running Barboros, with Waldergeist, as armour is probably great in the early stages, whilst rooted could prevent beaters from coming too close too fast. I have just over $50 I think, so if I do need to buy anything, what should I prioritise? Thanks everyone
  12. Thanks for the input I wish I had taken this approach, as stampeding Barbaros didn't end well. Stitched were on and off great models, I just had a tendency to flip weak damage for enemies, and severe when hurting myself But the bright side is, my dad won, the prize was a translucent Lynch crew, hopefully I'll be able to have a game with it sometime, as Lynch is my favourite master at this moment. But I'll definately run Candy next time, paralysing any enemy would be massive in Henchmen Hardcore.
  13. Thanks So I had a quick practice game against my dad and a mate who is also entering the tournament. I used Barbaros 2x Stitched Together Doppelganger Surprisingly, I beat his Bert, Trixie, Lenny list, as I usually cheated down high marks, my hands were really lucky, which let me keep Trixie out of Lenny's aura before dropping 4 damage on her from the stitched. Doppel killed herself after I black jokered the 'Gamble your life' but I enjoyed it. I feel Candy is great for this scenario too, but I'll probably try her next time, after my Iggy is painted Thanks everyone, the tournament is this Saturday and I'm looking forward to it.
  14. I only play Lynch (For now anyway ) Graves has been successful when using Lynch, I think he works well all around though too, also, doppelganger is a great piece, Bodyguard never fails on her, as Manipulative 14 has often stopped her from getting stomped by a beater, I couldn't recommend her enough Hope this helps mate.
  15. I think I'm getting a Widow Weaver soon, so I might try it out the tournament isn't for a while, and I'm happy getting the pot noodle for last I'll try using a Candy list, whilst adapting it if need be. Thanks
  16. @Adran Thanks for the input I've been thinking about fielding Candy, Iggy and the Doppel (Unsure about the last choice.) That way, I could put out a lot of burning, also with Candy, the chance to cause damage (FGF and Sours) could be an option, whilst Self Harm will take advantage of all the beaters people are planning on fielding. I'll have to see how it goes. Thanks everyone
  17. I can imagine Nekima and the mature being difficult to beat in a HH game, and depleted could hopefully sit back and the beaters draw attention. If possible, I could borrow the models and try it out, I'm curious now to see how it works
  18. Thanks for the input Barbaros seems like a great choice, as the amount of pushes he gives out, would help me out with Turf War. I'm not sure what I'll run yet, so if I were to run Barbaros, which models that I currently own, should I take to accompany him? Thanks everyone
  19. Hey, so I'm entering into a Henchmen Hardcore tournament on the 24th, and I'd like some advice on a list. Here's what I own: Dark Debts Crew Mother Of Monsters Crew No Shelter Here Crew Teddy Doppelganger Beckoners Iggy Tuco Shamans (I recently bought a bundle, so the collections is quite random.) So I'm wondering what Henchman I should consider taking? I'm not 100% on the scheme & strategy, and I believe the model count is 4 with a 20ss pool. Any advice? Thanks
  20. Thanks @whodares That's opened up a few options I haven't heard of before. I know pushing and luring can be great for setting up a strategy, and Doppelganger can help with Graves, so I'll definitely look around and play different styles. I'll only had 7 games, and my model pool has been pretty small, but hopefully I'll get to imply a tactic or two that you've brought up today Thanks
  21. Thanks, Sorry about getting it mixed up ? I'll check them out, and cycling for aces is definately worth while.
  22. Hello, So I recently started playing Malifaux, and own the Dark Debts box. The people at my local store say 10T Lynch has better options, so I was wondering if I could have some advice as to what works best with him. I know Darkened models are still viable, and Terror Tots sprint has been working extremely well so far, but Huggy & Lynch alone (in the latter games at least) have been giving out brilliance enough. Because I'm pretty new, but have known the people at my local store for years, one of them has offered to let me 'Play test' some models, so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks ?
