    Both of them, or can the second shard be in contact with the first, but outside the 6"?

    New player here, so I've got a possibly noobish question. When the Carrion Emissary casts his Shards, do they both need to be within 6 inches or can the first one be within 6 inches, and the second one touching it is fully outside those 6 inches? Also, do they need to be within 6 inches fully or just a part of the base needs to be within those 6 inches?
