  1. Thank you, Nathan! (And you guys get to keep 2 customers!) @Ludvig: It's not that I didn't want to hear from you. It's just that nobody's answer would matter except for Nathan's. Nothing personal, hope you understand. I know about Nekima Levy-Pounds, but I also know that her name is pronounced in different ways by different news outlets. Researching her name only begged the question. But thanks for your input. I threw you a like.
  2. Hi Nathan, I'm addressing this to you because your company may lose two customers, depending on the answer to this question. I don't need to hear from anyone else but you. With that said, my one (simple) question is, as you already know: What is the correct way to pronounce Nekima? Is it: a) Neh-kee-mah b) Neck-ih-muh c) Other (please specify) _______________ Please note that there is no choice "d) Pronounce it however you'd like!" There must be a correct way to pronounce this character's name. My buddy and I are betting our Malifaux careers on it. Please let us know. Hoping for the right answer, Kromp
  3. Thanks, Void and Le gob. Those are really helpful. I'll send these along to our FM...I have a feeling our next session is going to have a few new surprises in it! Thanks again -- really awesome.
  4. Thanks, Steam. My friends and I are still in our first handful of sessions. This helps
  5. In our group, the heavy melee warrior (a Guard who also has a bunch of wounds and heavy armor) seems to be a little OP. He walks around doing 3/5/8 damage with an enlarged rail hammer while everyone else is going 2/3/4 or 2/3/5 damage with their spells/guns. He's pretty unstoppable in combat. He's dumb as a bag of rocks outside of combat, but that's another story for another time. This guy can usually manage to take out 2 regular minions or an enforcer per turn while only losing 1-2 (out of 8) wounds. Other characters are put down to half health (or lower) after a single round of combat. We've been doing one shots in our group and even when the FM adds in the "extra challenge" enemies, that hammer goes through them like a knife through butter. My question is about balance. Is this a balance issue? Have others found that heavy melee warriors are a little nuts? Or is this a matter of how our encounters are being designed? Do we need to have bigger rooms with more ranged enemies and or heavier hitters? My concern then would be about the survivability of the other party members. Any ideas?
  6. Beautiful -- thank you! In what sense do the magical pursuits make such things easier? We have at least one guy in our group who has always and will always play casters in whatever game he plays and I'd like to make sure he know what kind of bang he's getting for his (magical) buck in TTB.
  7. Hi everyone -- Some friends and I are just getting started on TTB 2e (having never played 1e). Just one quick noob question: Under what circumstances could a character on a non-magical pursuit (e.g., Guard, Criminal, Boomer, Scrapper) gain access to counter-spelling and actually be able to perform things like magic shielding and so on? Thanks!
  8. Thanks, Ludvig. Soltan....Maybe relax, you know? I asked the question because there was a question and I said that would ask it on the forum. There's no other info necessary for the question to be answered (as the second half of your own post demonstrates). In the future, if any question of mine is so upsetting to you that you feel the need to try and scold me, feel free to not answer at all. But maybe try to relax.
  9. Jack Daw's curses give the cursed model a 2AP tactical action, Penance, which can be used to discard a card and turn the upgrade (i.e., the curse) face down. Can a Will O' Wisp take this action (using Ever Changing Form) and flip the curse face down? Leaning toward yes on this but would like to hear your interpretation and if this is addressed officially anywhere. Thanks!
  10. Thanks, Dog The "subset" idea is exactly how my friend and I made sense of the situation. Glad to hear we might've played it correctly.
  11. If a model ends a "move" within engagement range of a Terrifying model, does it need to take the horror duel? Specifically: A Changeling uses In the Blink of an Eye to "move" into base contact with the Widow Weaver. Horror duel? For reference: (0) In the Blink of an Eye: Immediately move this model up to its WK, ignoring intervening models and terrain during the move. This model must end the move in base contact with another model. Terrifying (All) 11: Enemy models must pass a TN 11 Horror Duel if they end a Walk Action within this model's engagement range or target this model with an Action. In this game, the Changeling was an enemy model to the Widow Weaver. Is the "move" considered a Walk Action? Was the Widow Weaver targeted by the Blink of an Eye? I would guess "No" to both questions, but I'd like to hear your interpretations or if these things are explained officially somewhere. Thanks!
  12. Enjoy! Let us know how she does for you
