  1. I will be running an achievement night event at the adult game night at Mizewell Games in Conway, Arkansas on Saturday, June 3rd starting at 5 p.m. Mizewell Games is located at 2125 Harkrider Street Suite 36 in Conway, Arkansas. This event is specifically designed to be a casual, fun game night to welcome new players to the game. I will be using some achievements from the Malifaux rapid growth league (as well as some new ones of my own creation) to run this. There will be prizes for everyone that participates (up to 10 people). While I want new and old players alike there, It is more geared toward new players as well as existing players that want a casual, fun night of gaming. We will be playing quick 25ss games (henchman led). Think of it as a mix between henchman hardcore and achievement league. It's all about playing 3-4 games that evening and meeting new players and growing the community. If you have any questions, ask away. I hope to see you there.

  4. I will be doing demos at a local Warhammer 40k adult night on Friday, March 17 at Mizewell Games in Conway, AR. There will be alcohol and you have to be 18 to enter, 21 to drink. I will have two tables set up and another local player is helping me do a 2nd table. If you have any questions, please contact me.
  5. On the 3rd Tuesday of every month, I will be hosting a Through the Breach game at Treasure Chest Games in Conway, Arkansas. We will be playing through Northern Aggression right after we wrap up our current game of "In The Gutter". Currently, we have 4 players but we have room for two more. I have pre-generated characters or you can make your own. All current books are allowed for use in this game. If you are interested in joining us, please contact me via email on here. You can also reach out to me on the Arkansas Malifaux FB page.
  6. We're doing it up right with my first ever shifting loyalties campaign! This campaign will last 12 weeks/6 rounds starting February 18 until April 29th. Once every two weeks, you will be paired against an opponent. You have two weeks to play your game against that opponent. You can play your game any time at any location you agree upon, but you must play before the two-week window is up. You can sign up on the Arkansas Malifaux Facebook page. There is an event link for the campaign on there. We will be playing a competitive campaign based on building the best hideout (there will be an overall story, so fluff/casual players don't worry) but we will have a few house rules: 1. You can only have one of each equipment or upgrade that you choose/purchase in your crew. 2. If your opponent doesn't meet with you in the two weeks and you can show you made every effort to meet with them, you will still score points so you can continue in the campaign. However, if both of you tried to meet up and neither one could make it, neither of you will score any points. 3. If you still live in Arkansas but outside of the Central Arkansas area and still want to participate, you can still do so. However, you must have at least 3 other players local to you beside yourself sign up for this event. If you are planning on playing outside central Arkansas in a group please contact me ahead of time and let me know where and with whom you are planning on playing. You will need a copy of the Shifting Loyalties campaign book in order to play. Additionally, it is recommended that you have a shifting loyalties campaign deck as well. Arsenal sheets and quick reference guides for the campaign can be found at the following address: https://www.wyrd-games.net/s/Shifting-Loyalties-Campaign-fi… More information about the campaign will be posted both here and on the Arkansas Malifaux Facebook page in the near future. Also, please feel free to message me and ask any questions you may have.
  7. We will be starting a once a month Through the Breach game at Treasure Chest Games in Conway, AR. I have slots available for 5 players. Character creation will be January 3rd at 7:00 p.m. and we will play our first scenario on January 17th at 7:00. We will start with Penny Dreadful one shots but will be moving to a campaign once all players have completed their first destiny steps. I will announce each month when we are playing our next scenario but, most likely, it will be every 3rd Tuesday of the month. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.
  8. On February 4th, I will be hosting a story encounter tournament at Treasure Chest Games in Conway, AR. We will have space for 16 players and it will last from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. The entry fee is 10 dollars and there will be 100% payout of the entry fees in store credit across 1st-3rd place and the storyteller award. In order to keep this event focused on story and thematic crews, we will be having a "Storyteller Award" for the player who gets the maximum story points during the event. This award will be on the same level as the first place prize. To win this award, you must get the best story score at the event. You score story points in the following ways: 2 points for having a fully painted and based crew (this includes summons) 1 point for using no mercenaries from another faction 1 point for using the same master the entire event 1 point for using your master's specific totem. This must be a different model from any other used to score story points. 1 point for taking a henchman or enforcer that is designed to work with your master or is mentioned as working with your master in the fluff. This must be a different model from any other used to score story points. 1 point for taking another model from your master's boxed set that is not already being used to score story points. 1-3 points for sportsmanship per round (opponent will score you at the end of each round).
  9. I will have all the current Malifaux books so you and your opponent can choose and play a story encounter. I'll also be doing demos and using a story encounter for whoever would like to try the game out. There will also be holiday treats for everyone to enjoy. This will just be a fun, casual event night as a way to say thank you to the community for supporting my endeavors this year. This will take place at Treasure Chest Games in Conway, Arkansas from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  10. I am hosting a modeling and painting demo night for several of our newer players in the area who are completely new to miniatures games. But, this is also an excellent opportunity to come pick my brain for (as well as share) tips and tricks on getting good looking models. Bring paints and brushes if you want. I will have some stuff on hand and will be showing a technique I use to get a good tabletop quality miniature painted pretty quickly.
  11. At 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10 I will be hosting a Henchman Hardcore tournament at Treasure Chest Games in Conway, AR. There is space available for up to 12 players. Since many of our local players are newer to the game, we're extending the round time to 1 hour. Rules for the Henchman Hardcore format can be found HERE
  12. I will be running the Penny Dreadful one shot "Recruitment Drive" at Treasure Chest Games in Conway, Arkansas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28th. This is an introductory scenario and we will be using pre-generated characters to get people into the game right away. I have space available for 6 players. 13. 6:00 p.m. Monday, October 10th I will be doing a Malifaux 101 event. The world of Malifaux is a rich, story-driven setting based on an alternate history version of earth. Malifaux uses gothic, steampunk, and victorian horror with a dose of the wild west to inject fun and depth into the magical lawlessness of a world rife with monsters, necropunks, man-machine hybrids, gunslingers, and powerhungry politicos. But, with a setting and game system this rich, figuring out how to get started can sometimes be a bit daunting. We'll discuss the history and lore of the setting, the different factions vying for control in Malifaux, and we'll also go over what it takes to get going with the miniatures game. We'll discuss faction play styles and I'll have all the current books on hand so you can make an informed decision about what faction you'd like to play. In addition, I'll go over the basics of assembling models so that people who have never had experience with the hobby can learn some tips to help them get started. I hope you'll join us next week as this event will be a great springboard into joining us for our rapid growth league on October 24th.
  14. On October 24 through November 14, I will be running a Rapid Growth League at Treasure Chest Games in Conway, Arkansas. The Rapid Growth league is an achievement league focused on having fun, growing the community, and helping new players out. There are a number of newer players in our area starting out and we'd love to have some established players come out and show them the ropes. Rapid Growth is a blast and is one of my favorite events to run. We'd love for you to join us! To find out more about this format, download the organized play packet at this link: http://www.wyrd-games.net/resources
  15. We kicked this league off last Wednesday at Mizewell Games in Conway, Arkansas and are following a similar-ish format to the Warmachine/ Hordes Journeyman league. We're trying to grow the community in the area and this is a great way to get started in the game. Yes, the first week is almost up but there is still plenty of time to jump on board. Here's the rundown: Malifaux Spring 2014 New Recruit League Registration If you purchased your starter box from Mizewell Games, registration in the league is free. If you did not, registration is 20 dollars but will be applied to store credit. When you sign up, you must declare what faction and starter box you are going to be playing with. Once selected, you cannot change your choice during the league. Force Composition Forces must meet the following restrictions: Weeks 1 & 2 will be 30ss crews, starter box contents only Weeks 3 & 4 will be 35ss crews, starter box must be included Weeks 5 & 6 will be 40ss crews, All 2nd edition wave 1 and wave 2 models allowed but you cannot change factions. Mercenaries/ legal models from other factions are allowed. Avatars are not allowed. Playing Games You are allowed to play up to 5 games every two weeks (for a max total of 15 games) in the league with the following restrictions: 1. You cannot play the same opponent multiple times in a row. This means you must play a new opponent before playing the same opponent again in order to score league points. 2. You must log all your games on your report sheet. If you do not, the game does not count. You must leave the report sheets in the folder at Mizewell Games. Strategies & Schemes Generate Strategies and schemes as outlined in the rulebook. League Points Points will be awarded for the following: Game Points: 3 points- Win 2 Points- Draw 1 Point- Loss Painting miniatures (over the course of the league): 1 point for each small based (30mm) model 2 points for each medium based (40mm) model 3 points for each large based (50mm) model Special Encounters: This will be a special story encounter every two weeks. You can score points for these encounters one time per encounter. The special story encounter does count toward the maximum number of games you can play during the league. You will get the following game points for playing this encounter: Story Encounter Points: 5 points- Win 4 points- Draw 3 points- Loss Hobby Points: Each encounter will also have a special hobby goal associated with it. If you meet this hobby goal, you will get 4 points for completing it. All encounters and hobby goals for each one will be announced at least two weeks before the league begins. NOTE: For a painted model or hobby goal to count for points it must be primed, base coated, and painted with a reasonable diversity of color. Individual elements of the project must be distinguishable by color or shading. For instance, flesh must be a different color than hair or clothing; metal should be a different color than leather. Awards: There will be awards given to the player with the highest overall score, the highest painting and hobby scores, and the highest number of points from game wins. You cannot win multiple awards. This means if you have the highest overall score and the highest hobby score, you would win best overall and the player with the next highest hobby score would win the hobby award.
  16. Ok. Thanks. That helps a lot.
  17. I figured I would ask this here since my question is related to this topic and it came up last week during a game. If I declare a walk action and then I move the model, it passes through another model's melee range, does that mean I have to stop the model within that other model's melee range or can I complete the model's walk action outside of that model's melee range? So, as an example, let's say I declare a walk action with a model has a movement of 6". Three inches into the movement I move through a model's melee range (let's say it's a range of 2"). I have enough movement left in the action to move past this model's melee range. Do I have to stop within the melee range and declare another walk action to try and disengage or can I go ahead and finish the move outside of this melee range?
