  1. Hey folks, I've created an updated version of the Puppet Wars Cards pdf. Click here to download it. A couple of issues with the original version have been fixed and I've added the Teddy models (as discussed in a couple of other threads in this forum). I've also added a summary of what models were released in each Puppet Wars box (both versions). Hope this is useful. If you have any questions, comments or feedback then please let me know. Thank you. Brass Monkey
  2. This replacement home for PMF looks really ace. It must have been a lot of work to transfer everything across but it was worth the effort. Thank you for leading this - massively appreciated!

    Worcester Shindig - Sunday 1st July 2018

Worcester War Game’s inaugural Malifaux tournament will take place on 1st July 2018. We aim to appeal to players of all capabilities and experience. Each round will last 2½ hours, and both strategies and scheme pools are available beforehand (see below). We’re planning initially for a maximum of 16 participants but will review this as necessary and endeavour to accommodate as many as possible. The Rulespack can be downloaded from https://www.dropbox.com/s/83tvbctluo68t63/Rules Pack - Worcester Shindig 2018.pdf?dl=0 To enter, send £15 by paypal to brass.monkey.malifaux@gmail.com as a personal payment (include your name, forum name and proposed faction) or pay me in cash beforehand. Before the event itself, please register at www.bag-o-tools.com. Results will be submitted to Malifaux Rankings (please advise if you wish to be anonymous). You might also want to visit (or even join) the facebook group of the “Worcester War Games Malifaux Players” at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1871473253165616. Have fun. Disengage strike and DF triggers

Hmm.. Re-reading the rulebook it seems you're correct and that stat triggers can be declared after being on the receiving end of a disengaging strike. Not sure whether that's in the spirit of the rules or not. Do you have a specific model in mind?

The Affair of the Obsidian Gate

Total class! Looking forward to the next installment.
  10. Hi folks, Some of you will know that about two years ago I created PDFs of the Puppet Wars stat cards for the old metal puppets that weren't in the unstitched box. This started as a personal project, though I've let it be known on this forum that they exist and have shared with anybody that has asked for a copy (roughly one person every 4-6 weeks, though I think the link has been shared via BoardGameGeek too). I asked Wyrd for permission to share more widely and they said they'd have to think about it. Well, two years later, especially given LuckyReplica's effort to rejuvenate interest in this game, I think it's about time I just posted the link here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/15iq21nmqzf5d8z/AACh2PoNvhjAHXaIMRVSib2da?dl=0 These are based on the online crew creator that Wyrd used to have up on the Puppet Wars site (but which they've since taken down). They are only for the extra puppets not included in the unstitched box - i.e. the puppets that were in the first version of the game but which were never officially released in the unstitched version. I hope these contribute to revitalisation efforts. Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback. Brass Monkey

    Malifaux Demos in Worcester UK

Hello wyrdos, A quick message to let people know that I am now around at Worcester War Games (Worcester UK) to offer demos and to arrange any other Malifaux related activity. I'm going to keep the first Saturday of each month free as a regular slot but happy to potentially meet anytime if people would prefer something else. Hopefully there will be some organised play events later this year. We also now have a facebook group for the store's Malifaux players so feel free to join us to arrange any games with local gamers. The store is located at 3 Trinity Street, Worcester, WR1 2PW. There are plenty of tables and a vibrant community of gamers. Drop me a line, either here or via our facebook group, if you want to arrange a specific time to meet. In the meantime, take a look and please let me know if you have any questions or want help setting anything up. Cheers. Mat Richardson-Jack Brass Monkey Henchman @ Worcester War Games (Worcester UK)

  14. Hi! Bit of a daft question, I know, but is there an optimum/minimum/maximum group of fated for playing through this? Ta.

I'm still thinking of getting a newbie group together to try this - what is minimum/maximum number of fated in each session? Thank you.

Pantoporos Aporos' Puppet Wars bling thread

Really looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Looking awesome so far. What are you planning for 'terrain'? I've seen cotton reels used before which looks very effective.

I know nothing about gremlins, but can offer you this link which you might find useful (all credit to khyodee at schemes and stones): https://schemesandstones.wordpress.com/2016/09/09/building-on-a-budget-gremlins/

Hi PA, I play it same way as you. Haven't played much pokey vik and have no house rules for her. Glad you enjoyed your games. BM

    Teddy bear puppet?

Well that's interesting... There are two red teddy cards in this post and they have different Animation Requirements. Tempted to go with Omenbringer's scanned versions though (4ram).

    Teddy bear puppet?

Were there special rules for the teddies? Were they drafted into your army like any other puppet, or did all five start on the board somehow? If they become interesting when there's more of them then it would make sense to have a way of ensuring that they're available to tear apart and steal each other's patches. I wondered if there was a special scenario released with them.

    Teddy bear puppet?

Hi all, I've looked at the scans (thanks for these) plus also compared all the old stats to their new equivalents to see whether there's a pattern. A few puppets had a big change to their AR but also to their corresponding abilities. However, stats generally only changed by a point or two max, if at all. Bad juju and ice golem (which are maybe comparable to Teddy?) saw no change in their stats between the two versions, and have an unstitched movement stat of 2. Bad juju's AR dropped a point and Ice Golem's stayed the same. Therefore I suggest we could port across everything with very little change. Keep the same AR and stats, give them a movement of 2, keep the first two abilities and the 'swallow whole' action unchanged, move the thrd ability to be an extra stitch on the upgrade instead, and keep the rest of the upgrades unchanged. What do you think? Whilst I'm updating the cards, I'm thinking of changing the name of the Stuffed Piglets' upgrade from Bacon (which is also the name of the piglets' upgrade) to "Don't Ask", which is what it was in the first edition. What do you all think? Thanks again. Mat 'Brass Monkey'

    Mixing Fractions with Brewmaster

    Welcome to the forums!
  25. It's time to make lemonade! The bods behind pmf looked at options to move to another platform not too long ago so I imagine those options are still available. Not sure why the move never happenened but now we have no choice. To be honest pmf could benefit from the opportunity of a bit of a refresh. Interesting times...
