  1. Looking for a group to play with? I've made a map for finding locals! Add your name to it! http://tinyurl.com/TheOtherSideOfTheBreach Credit to Mister Shine, whose TtB Map I have totally ripped off.
  2. Hello! I'm looking to build up a group for face-to-face TTB. Based in Worcester (UK). We could do with a couple more players so if you're interested please let me know. First-time players welcome.
  3. I'm working on a TTB homebrew.... Anybody ever mapped the standard Malifaux/TTB symbols to keyboard characters/fonts? I'm talking principally about the four suit symbols, the pistol symbol and the claw symbol. I know that the images are available from Wyrd's 'Resources' page but they're image files and I want to be able to insert them into text via a keyboard shortcut. Maybe via 'private character editor'? Thank you. [Edit: Solution found thanks to Danny Dawson on TTB Facebook page who pointed me to https://www.dafontfree.net/freefonts-malifaux-rodent-edition-f137625.htm ]
  4. Shadowopal - thanks for the list above. Very very useful!
  5. I've checked all my stuff (17 OSs, 7 PDs and all the expansions) and couldn't find anything. I suggest either (i) go through all the one-shots in the Wyrd Chronicles in case there's anything there (ii) make your own (check out Kimberley's article - see below) or (iii) sign up as a playtester for the From Nightmares expansion.
  6. I think I've seen this question addressed before in the distant past but, if so, I couldn't find it. What's your take on letting Fated make skill duels on skills for which they have a rank of 0? The rule mechanics don't seem to differentiate between, for example, rank0+aspect3 and rank3+aspect0. The table on the page for each skill gives examples of what the different ranks in that skill allow the fated to typically perform. Do you use that to limit what the fated can attempt? Can somebody with a rank of 1 in Doctor attempt complex surgery, and just hope that their Intellect aspect will make up for their low rank? What about fated with a rank of 0 - should they even be allowed to attempt the duel? It feels like they ought to maybe get a penalty on either their duel (a -ve flip?) or the price of failure should be higher. Fir example, sure I could try and remove that bullet lodged in your thigh, and with a bit of luck I might make a good job of it, but if I don't really know what I'm doing then failure might mean that I hit an artery and you start to bleed out. Ta.
  7. I've been rediscovering TTB during lockdown by re-reading the core rules and the expansion books. They're incredible source books for anybody interested in Malifaux lore and the awesome roleplay system that is TTB. As I think of any questions I have about the rules I'll pop them up here. Firstly, I've just invested in the TTB spell deck cards. They're really great (especially the rules summary cards). So I was wondering.... Wouldn't it be great if the new magia and immuto from the Abive The Law book could have cards made available (eg via drivethrurpg)? Looking forward to hopefully getting some post-quarantine sessions in - I haven't played since The Obsidian Gate. Ta

  12. Hi folks, It's now less than three weeks to go until our "Worcester Shenanigans" Malifaux tournament at Worcester War Games on Sunday 2nd December. Several people have expressed an interest but I could do with knowing how many will definitely be coming. Even if you're still unsure, or have any questions, then it would be good to know that too. Could you let me know, either in this thread or via the “Worcester War Games Malifaux Players” facebook group, whether or not you will be coming please? Then I can plan the tables, prizes, food, etc. Thank you, Mat Richardson-Jack (aka “Brass Monkey”) brass.monkey.malifaux@gmail.com Henchman ~ Worcester War Games

  16. Announcing our upcoming tournament - Worcester Shenanigans! Building on the success of our recent 'Worcester Shindig' event earlier this month, Worcester War Game’s next tournament will take place on Sunday 4th November 2018. Further details and rulespack will be posted here once finalised, but at this stage we anticipate a three-round fixed-faction 50ss tournament with pre-announced GG18 strategies and schemes. Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime. Thank you, Mat Richardson-Jack (aka “Brass Monkey”) brass.monkey.malifaux@gmail.com Henchman ~ Worcester War Games
  17. Choosing Kickstarter was more than just a financial decision for me anyway - I'm happy to have backed something I want to see succeed and contribute in a tiny way towards its awesomeness.
  18. Crickey you're right. The prices here are less than KS was charging us: https://www.gamenerdz.com/the-other-side Fortunately I'm too old to believe everything on the internet, or care about things I can't influence, otherwise that would indeed be a bit of a slap in the face.
  19. Oh brill - hope that is the case. Makes more sense logically and mathematically. 'Armour' is the Target Number that you need to reach to inflict damage (then multiples of five above). That would make sense. Thank you.
  20. Hey, I missed the beta testing but have been trying to learn the rules from Wyrd's YouTube video and latest Wyrd chronicles. I understand that the result of the penetration flip (strength + cheatable flip) is compared to target's armour stat. Does the result need to equal or exceed the target's armour, for a single quantum of damage? If it exceeds by 5, 10, 15 (etc) then another 1, 2, 3 (etc) quanta of damage is inflicted, right? Thanks.
  21. "On the boat" sounds promising. Hope that's the case. Hopefully when I get back from hols in September they'll be waiting for me.
  22. Sorry if I sound impatient (I am impatient - especially since last Wyrd Chronicles landed) but do we know if our shiny new TOS toys have left China yet? Have they landed in US? Is someone in Marietta filling boxes at this very minute? How long before onwards shipment to the UK? So many questions and I don't expect much of a response at this time - but any news would be good!
  23. Isn't this much more likely to be something from the forthcoming TTB book? edit: oops just read page 2 of this thread and I see I've been ninja-ed! Ignore me!
  24. A big thank you to those that attended the Worcester Shindig. Also thanks to Andy from the store, David Brown (Clousseau) for his advice and support, Oz for trying to drum up some extra interest, and my lad Elliott who helped me run the day. The results were: 1st place to Craig Colley (Neverborn), 2nd place to Oz Goff (Ten Thunders), 3rd place to Shaun Mitchell (Neverborn), 4th place to Rik Philips (Gremlins), 5th place to Steve C. (Resurrectionists) and Wooden Spoon to Michael Fox (Outcasts). Best Painted went to Craig Colley. The main prizes were distributed by random card draw (with a for Craig (as winner of both the tournament and the painting competition)). They were: Archie, Miss Terious (Alt Death Marshal), Alt Gator, Emeline Bellerose, Miss Ery (alt Teddy) and a goody bag containing a bottle of Brewmaster's moonshine, a Lucky Emissary foil card and an extra guilder. Lunch included Mah's genuine Bayou Gumbo. There were also certificates (for 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and best painted) and a wooden spoon decorated by Marsha Parkins.
