  1. Gibbering Hordes Game Rules: Probably Yarazi, they seem really useful Model-wise: Leaning towards the Eel, but the Speckled Creepers are basically Malifaux Murlocs!
  2. The big question for me now is whether I want to go deeper on Hordes, which I'm most interested in from a hobby perspective, or get a dual commander pledge. I still think it's going to be tough for me to demo, since no one I've been soliciting has had much interest beyond smaller skirmish games, and due to location/language/etc. it's increasingly looking more like a hobby project. And if its a hobby project I'm probably going to just want to pick up models I think will be fun to paint and then if anyone expresses interest pick up an allegiance box at retail (or just do a quick demonstration of the rules with a 1 commander mirror match game). Or if I just want to sit at commander to get my sea monster fix and not spend as much on a hobby project compared to actual gaming projects (more Malifaux/thinking about DBA/something new). But the latest update, with the Armored Whelks, continues to solidify my allegiance choice. Looks like a fantastic unit, with a shell that's screaming for a fun paint job
  3. Okay, I just woke up so I had no idea when it actually got posted. Thats pretty promising then! Bumped my pledge back up then.
  4. The kickstarter is now a better deal, but yeah, I was kind of disappointed. And it looks like so numbers have only jumped up 5k, while presumably costing the company a whole lot more. In the latest chronicles they threw out a tease that there was a Gremlin board game being developed. I hope that wasn't one of the casualties.
  5. I'm on vacation at the moment, but going to an aquarium and seeing cool sea life makes me want to stick with Gibbering Hordes. And its given me some painting inspiration/ideas. The card reveals have also really firmly solidified them as something I want to play (even if I'll largely wind up just painting and not playing because friends aren't interested...) I do wish the fish-y stuff was unlocked sooner rather than later. The eel and the speckled creeper/anglerfish faces/murlocs being so far along in the stretch goals that we probably won't reach them makes me sad.
  6. He can lead a 50SS crew which a henchman can't do, and can be used with any faction. It's not good, but it can be done and might as well be included in a list of possibilities. You are right he is technically a henchman but it's being overly pedantic to argue against his inclusion in that list and you wouldn't need to include every outcast henchman.
  7. He can be, even if its purely a gimmick crew.
  8. It further strengthened that Gibbering Hordes was the allegiance I wanted the most. (Although unfortunately I'm having a lot of difficulty getting anyone else interested. Nice models, but my friends don't seem interested in anything larger than Malifaux or like...Frostgrave or Infinity... So I might just wind up getting GH to paint and hope someone comes around by the time it reaches retail)
  9. When I think of death ball I think Hoffman or Collodi. Hoffman likes robots and doesn't necessarily work well with the starter box other than being in the same faction, but he basically travels with a group of robots he keeps looped together so that they use whatever the highest value of any looped in model is. He can give some models slow to give others fast, and basically works to create synergy between everything in his bubble.
  10. Still looking it over, but the Carver now being a proxy for Killjoy is the best.
  11. Finally getting around to checking this out, and I love the sculpt. I certainly hope he's available for purchase at some point during a Wyrd sale.
  12. Voodoo has nothing to do with Ethiopia (its roots lie on the other side of the continent). Neither does tribalism, really. They've been christian since at least the 4th century*, and before that had more in common with their neighbors in the Arabian peninsula and to the north in Egypt. It was also one of only two African nations to retain independence from colonial powers (up until 1935, but were liberated in 1941). *Religion in Ethiopia is actually really fascinating but not in a way that would really be transferrable to a tabletop fantasy game. A colleague of mine is a specialist in spirit possession and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and while academically interesting its not as exciting as that sounds.
  13. If it helps you think of him as a Cult Model, he's a Dragon, your other titan is a Dragon, and the Burning Man is/was half of a dragon. But overall, yeah, right now I'm not seeing a lot of possible synergies between Cult and GH. Well, except for Cult possibly loaning GH some ranged units.
  14. Zoraida is a dual-faction Neverborn/Gremlin Master. One of her upgrades lets her take swampfiend models (everything in her box) regardless of faction.
  15. Meridion is specifically given as the name of one of the 13 Tyrants to Perdita in the M2E rulebook. So they're definitely a Tyrant. It'll be interesting to learn more about them.
