It is probably also worth mentioning that it is not difficult to get units into combat turn 1. Played my first game with Hordes last night and had the Alpha charging in with a 22" rush on turn 1. And that was after the Frenzy shoved him up 9". If the frenzy manage to push your entire list up 12" you could be charging with pretty much everything on turn 1. Long story short... If a player is diddling around in their back line generating tokens you can get in there and start interrupting it pretty darn quickly.
All that said it is still very possible that there are ways to break the game. Maybe even this eel spam idea.
Along the same lines... I am disappointed there are not spam hiring restrictions. I would like to at the very least see a global rule hard cap of hiring no more than 3 of any one unit.
Zenithal priming + glazes. That's it. I didn't mix any paint while painting this mini.
- Primed black with standard spray primer.
- Top down airbrushed white that was significantly thinned for control.
- color glazes applied in various degrees of watered down paint + glaze medium depending on how rich i wanted the color.
The real important aspect of this painting style is that you have to be sure your glazes are thinned down to a workable state where you won't lose the underlying highlights and shadows created by the zenithal priming. From a traditional standpoint the technique is referred to as underpainting.
I haven't painted anything in a while, but I'm working on a new speed painting technique. This one is about an hour and a half in. Plan to finish the base and do some minor tweaks on the paint job, but overall I'm happy with the result so far.
Wyrd actually is going to be making a fantastic Tengu model... it's just not called a tengu... http://www.gamewire.belloflostsouls.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/carrionemissary.jpg
In case people are interested in using these, I also have item sheets that I have been making so that you can use items that would be more likely to fit the Malifaux theme.
Slowly but surely getting my Ten Thunders painted. Been kind of jumping around with styles. And I am still not 100% on which style I want to use to paint them.
It's great that everybody likes the flames so much. That was the part of the model that I waited the longest to paint because I have never painted flames before. Happy to know that they turned out well.
