  1. Ok, in my head somewhere I don't think this will work but I'd love to be wrong so go ahead and make my day. :-) Lets use Kaeris as our example cause she gets talked about alot poor girl. I want a good damage flip with my ignite (which has gunfighter) so I charge and use ignite with gunfighter as my melee weapon giving me that all important charge plus flip. Is that possible or is that against the nature of what gunfighter is meant to do exactly? Thanks in advance.
  2. I think I see where you're coming from. Due to the condition of the ability being that it is chosen at the start of the game. This is going to sound dense, I'm just trying to get my head around it. Can someone explain the actual reason why when she mimics the ability it wouldn't just mimic the active ability being that it was in fact chosen at the beginning and done from there. (if that wasn't totally clear I'll just throw it into the actual case. Doppleganger mimics the ability and must take it at high noon because that's where the rider has the ability currently) If there is a rule reason why that isn't how it works I'm totally cool with it, I just want to get my head around it so I stop thinking there's a loop hole :-) Thanks. Not totally sure this even applies to my previous question but, as long as I'm here... IF its true that you must be able to choose what phase of passage of time you're using at the beginning of the game in order to use it, what happens when zoraida hexes it off him at some point then dies? Hex says they lose the talent until she's removed from play... so does the rider come back with the same stage he started the game with, would he come back with the stage he'd (0) action-ed into earlier... or would he not be able to regain the talent because it was lost and he couldn't choose a time since it wasn't the start of the game?
  3. Can one use doppleganger's mimic to mimic that time of day ability from the rider?
  4. Ok, now I might just be asking for it... the "I don't know where you play" comment already bordered on the insulting so I'm getting my thick skin suit on right now. Q while you might have some legitimate concerns about how the rules mesh with how they wrote lilith to work, it does not change that Buhallin is right... this wasn't started as a rules argument thread this was a rules question thread... if you want to start a mighty march on the wyrd virtual steps to lobby for change you might try posting a new thread that more accurately sums up your goals... like... "Lilith must be free!" or "why oh why must the rules limit lilith" something that specifically asks for clarification on the part of the powers that virtually be. Thanks. :-)
  5. I do agree that the avatar's rules may work better with waldgeists and the like than with her typical neph crew but in many cases, isn't that that point? The avatar isn't supposed to just be a stronger version of the same thing you just had but rather accentuate an aspect of that master while usually leaving something behind. (unless its sonnia then I'm not sure what the heck they were thinking... sheesh... I digress) They made her so that people fielding her avatar wouldn't just make a mature neph factory but have more options. I do believe she may not be an avatar you'd spend the 2 points on in every game... but that's part of what makes her special. I think half the fun of these avatars is seeing how to build a crew that works with the master in the early game and the avatar by later game. while I'm on my love fest with her let me add... I really liked the job they did with the model. It was fun to put together and paint and didn't leave me pulling my hair out.
  6. Ok, so I just spent an hour looking through the forums for an answer to the haunted forest question and I've still come up empty... so, looking at the rules on melee strikes on page 39... "a model's melee range is the Rg of any of the (///) weapons." then crossing that onto the fact that haunted forest gives the exception of letting the melee strike "target" ... ie. the effect from haunted forest specifically targets the models using your claws strikes. I'd come to the conclusion that haunted forest is technically the source of the ability to target and not the weapon meaning that as much as I'd love to keep you engaged with haunted forest... it can't. Sad day for us lilith players. (Also, on a side note I'd like to point out that as much as wyrd tries to keep abilities uniform... haunted forest missed the memo. on Waldgeist it's a 1 inch range and on lilith its 2 inch... and they had a slight typo with calling it a claw strike when the actual weapon is claws... but who cares.)
  7. yes and yes... gollum is right. with Nekima I'd get the suit + since its the doppleganger, a mask which goes with her cb... which does makes any of her triggers basically freebee choices. And yes, since the weapon with the insidious madness is what has the ability of using wp, you could use wp instead of cb if you copy it. (meaning if you REALLY REALLY needed to get 1/2/2+slow weapon to go off you could copy the someone's wp and get a better shot at it.) New question I think I know the answer to. Since the triggers on weapons typically have the name of the weapon, you couldn't copy a trigger that goes with a different weapon and use it correct? Like... grabbing chompy's onslaught trigger with Nekima's greatsword. In the book anyway (I'm not digging out the card right now) the onslaught trigger says six inch teeth, ten inch claws. so it couldn't be put on her sword... or say the 10 inch insidious madness gun right?
  8. In a recent game I used mimic to copy someones weapon... then used it a second time to copy a trigger on the weapon. My question is simply this, do I still have to meet suit requirements for the trigger to use it? I would think I do... but I was told I didn't... help! :-)
  9. From what I'm seeing... what that means is on turn 3, at some point, paralyzed model has to "take an activation" and forfit it... thus it must take its turn in the activation order. Once it has done that, it can be re-paralyzed. Obviously a smart player trying not to be paralized again would try to out activate and go last with their paralyzed model, but as soon as they take that model's activation its fair game.
  10. Ok, so... I don't want to sound as stupid as I obviously am... but... I'm having a hard time finding the rule that actually says that Right between the eyes is effected by modifyers outside of what the spell states. The spell is a Range 10... no gun, no melee symbol... the rules I find on 50 say that if a spell has a gun a melee or a resist duel its an attack spell. then the follow up rule says and to get this right I'll quote... "spells with a (claws) or (gun) in their Rg are melee and ranged attack spells respectively and follow the targeting rules for those types of attacks. Modifiers that affect melee or ranged attacks affect these spells as well." I didn't see anything in there about spells without claws or guns having modifiers. I know I missed something in the rules that makes your assessment right, I just need to know what it is. If someone can hit me with the rule that makes the right between the eyes be affected by duel modifiers I'd love to see it. Thanks.
  11. Ok, when I cast that it says +3 flip on the damage... does it lose flips if I barely beat the cast... or if say I was trying to hit seamus with his hard to wound 2... OR if I actually get the spell through after his defense flips, do I simply apply the effects of the spell without taking his stuff into account. It may be a dumb question but I am just having one of those days. Thanks.
  12. with the puppet master you can give the little dudes fast... 3 paired attacks each... if you're having trouble getting your opponent to die with 18 pts of these guys then you may be doing something wrong.... so yeah, I'd say they're worth their 3 pts
  13. cool, that's what I was thinking, I just wanted to make sure. Thank you
  14. Ok, first off, I know it doesn't stack with more of the same from other seishin. Now for the question... it says friendly spirit within 3 inches gets yada yada... does that mean if the target friendly spirit goes out of that 3 inches it loses the buff? (quick example... I use seishin to give shikome spiritually empower... then shikome moves on to kill crap... does it get the buff or did it lose it the moment it moved out of the 3 inches?) Thanks.
  15. That's what I thought should happen. His actual activation doesn't get skipped altogether, he has to take the activation and then lose all actions. Its no different than if I had slowed him. (I mean how its played out, the effect is different of course)
