How does this look as a list to build towards? Arcanists Crew - 50 - Scrap Ramos -- 5 Pool + Ramos, Avatar of Invention [2ss] Kaeris [8ss] Essence of Power [2ss] Gunsmith [6ss] Joss [9ss] Mechanical Rider [8ss] Soulstone Miner [6ss] Steampunk Arachnid [3ss] Steampunk Arachnid [3ss]

So For my second force (my first being a Vic and schill combo (vic schill?)) I really wanted a magic-esque force. Now I love automaton but I'm having trouble deciding between these two masters. What are the major differences in play style? Also does Kaeris work well with Ramos ? Finally (and much less importantly mind you) which is the more competitive of the two? I've been leaning toward Ramos as he seems to have the better/more interesting avatar.

I'd prefer the trapper to the specialist as he seems more durable (with jerky time) and has a range advantage but I understand the need for soulstones in this list. The desire for a friekcorp is to be able to get the extra activation after Von for clean up duty. Von also has the ability to make him a touch more durable (hard to kill and hard @$$ when needed).

So I'm quite new the Malifaux (2 days) and old hat at mini gaming (Don't want to say ). I've been looking for a very small skirmish style game where you play a flavorful squad and well here I am. Now I tend to prefer very aggressive high risk and high reward play styles with a strong emphasis in positional play ( I'm an avid gambit player in chess ). One caveat of me as a person Is I have to play models I really enjoy how they look and that I abhor hyper-sexualized models. (like the original lady J sculpt though the alternate that just came out is fine). I'm looking at some advice from the community on what do they think will fit my bill? I've been looking at: 1) Von Schill 2) the Victorias (though i would have to do alot of modeling to make the bikini girl work : / ) 3) perdita (alternate pose) but I will defer to your expert opinions. I hammered out the list below based on my read through of the books. And am looking for advice on the follow: 1) will this work at all? 2) is there a better set of masters to suit my play style 3) any tweaks that I need to make? 4) If I go with this how should I expand this?
