  1. I'm starting to work up house rules for Puppets I want to add to my PW game. First up are Stitched Togethers (using "Bear-ly Togethers") and the Widow Weaver (Mysterious Effigy with a parasol added and some fine lines carved at the limb joints to give a more "puppety" look). I haven't done any playtesting with them yet and haven't played PW in general in a while, but if anyone wants to give them a shot (or you just see something obvious that I should change) and let me know what you think, I'd REALLY appreciate it. I'll update once I get some games in with them. THANKS
  2. Did you end up printing any of those "Puppet Masters Show" miniatures? "The Puppet Master Final" looks like it would make a great "Puppet Collodi" (if you had house rules for him) if the mini is small enough.
  3. A little late replying, but this post might help you out:
  4. Sorry, not really looking to get rid of any cards. The idea with the washers is genius, though. I ended up ordering different colored "base identifiers" to use, but the washers seem a lot simpler.
  5. So, I've been on and off with Puppet Wars for years. I was here for the first launch, buying, trading and selling puppets here on the forums, painting, planning custom pieces, etc. I got excited with Unstitched, then disappointed when they didn't put out any expansions, finally just selling my puppets and moving on to other things. I finally got my act together now (8 years later?!) and started working on my set in earnest. I picked up 2 copies of Unstitched and at least 1 of most metals (other than Colette, Cassandra and the Teddies), with plans for house rules for the Widow Weaver ( a converted Mysterious Effigy) and Stitched Togethers (using the "Bear-ly Together" alternate minis). I also want custom-made work benches and impassable terrain pieces. So, step 1 complete: my work benches are finished. I have my impassable terrain mostly assembled, just need final assembly and painting, so I'll do a post for them soon, too. Hope you guys enjoy and hope Wyrd eventually comes to their senses and starts supporting this game again!
  6. Anyone have thoughts about (or are already using some) house rules for the effigies in PWU? ...and the Mysterious Effigy seems like such an easy, logical conversion to a puppet Widow Weaver. Just add a parasol....
  7. I'm with you, Lucky! - I'd love to see life get breathed back into PW and some tactics/strategies would be great. It's a shame someone hasn't spearheaded a project like PullMyFinger for Puppet Wars.
  8. ....So, I ended up buying a 2nd copy of the game instead.... Plenty of puppets now!
  9. I'm missing ONE RONIN from my Puppet Wars Unstitched game! If anyone has a ronin or partial-PW set they want to sell, PLEASE let me know.
  10. If anyone's interested, I'm selling off my Collodi warband, led by (I believe) the first Collodi conversion ever done giving him longer fingers. Included are 2 Stitched Togethers, 4 Marionettes and 7 Wicked Dolls (i.e. a selection Puppet Wars miniatures on Malifaux bases): http://www.ebay.com/itm/321724488721?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D321724488721%26_rdc%3D1 Also, my Nightmare Teddy and Regular Teddy conversions. Nightmare is holding 2 Soul Stones on a chain and the other Teddy has his head replaced by the alternate "Nightmare" head. Object-source lighting on both of these minis: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321724491667?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%257CR40%257CR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D321724491667%26_rdc%3D1
  11. Cutting the original at shoulder level leaves the bottom half of the mouth on the mini's chest. After attaching the NM head I had to do a bit of green stuff work on the front and a little on the back. I actually made a green stuff mold of the Teddy's fur to patch in under his chin, but had to do some real sculpting at the seam. I definitely like my sculpting better than the stuff from the mold - I should've done it all that way. Overall wasn't terribly difficult (broke one jeweler's saw blade, but was probably being a bit careless). Yours was the one I saw that inspired me, Viruk - thanks for the idea!
  12. I used the extra head that came with the NM Teddy and put it on the normal one I hadn't painted yet.
  13. I thought 5/31 was the release date, but the Puppet Wars section of the Wyrd store is barren now and I haven't heard anything from the site (Miniature Market) I pre-ordered it from....
  14. I finally got around to painting up my Nightmare Teddy. I thought he was done until I realized that when I matte-coated the base I did it too thick and all the stones turned to a grey mess. So, I washed them black and will repaint them tomorrow, but I figured I'd go ahead and post him. I did a slight conversion on him - I wanted him to be carrying a couple of large soulstones on a chain. I attempted some object source lighting on the eyes, stones and the street lamp behind him. Scultped the cobblestone base similar to what I did with my Collodi (http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?24992-Collodi-WIP) and Wicked Dolls (http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?25570-quot-Puppet-Wars-quot-Wicked-Dolls-for-Collodi) - I plan on him joining their crew along with another Teddy I'm converting (putting the alternate NM Teddy head on a regular Teddy) either with the Weaver Widow or without her in 2.0 if Collodi's hiring restrictions are eased up some as a Master. Anyway:
  15. Indulging in a little threadomancy (I left all things Malifaux for a bit) to say I like the string idea. I'm a Lovecraft fan, so I REALLY like the "King in Yellow" theme. Glad my Collodi "Long-fingers" inspired you. http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?24992-Collodi-WIP
  16. Has anyone done an Arcane Effigy conversion yet? I'm interested in what other people's thoughts were for it before I jump into my own. Please feel free to post some pics or ideas. I just put an order in for an Electrical Creation and a Gremlin Taxidermist that I plan to use as the basis for mine, along with various tomes, scrolls and thin banner strips that I have left over from my old Scribes of Tzeentch conversion. There's some necron parts in my bitz bins I can use for the mechanical-looking arms. Hey, maybe I'll actually have a use now for Collodi's old stubby fingers! I plan to make a smaller tome out of plasticard for his face. Once I get the mini's delivered I'll throw up a WIP post.
  17. Here's an invaluable website: http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/Zoraida
  18. In case anyone's interested (and I'm at work bored out of my skull), here's some of the models I've done in the past for Warhammer Fantasy. Greater Daemon of Nurgle conversion: Daemon Prince of Nurgle conversion: My Nurgle Furies conversions: Nurgle standard bearer: Blue Scribes of Tzeentch conversion: Dark Elf general conversion: Dark Elf Renegade Sorcerer conversion: Plaguebearers:
  19. I want a 35ss list that keeps Collodi as it's only master (i.e. no Zoraida - I'm holding off using her at least until her alternate sculpt has its general public release.) Here's a couple of lists I'm thinking about. Either one of these the least bit viable as an "all comers" list? Collodi (2ss) Arcane Effigy Marionettes x4 Stitched Togethers x2 Weaver Widow Wicked Dolls x3 or Collodi (0ss) Arcane Effigy Marionettes x4 Stitched Togethers x3 Wicked Dolls x5 I have some ideas for my Arcane Effigy conversion, so I'd really like to include him if I can. I also have some thoughts for a Mysterious Effigy conversion, but I'm not totally sold on him....
  20. Really like these, Ratty. Can't wait to see them painted.
  21. Here: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=24366 and here: http://www.wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8145 and here: https://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12214
  22. Good job! I especially like the yarn & knitting needles. A nice touch. :happypuppet1
  23. Ok, all finished. Spent more time on the stitching and made cobblestone bases. Made a couple of sewer grates out of washers and wire stock:
