  1. These are stunning! Well done. Those dusters are really nice, and compliment the blue flames and black clothes. I love em.
  2. Was it effective? Barbaros does love to push.
  3. Never mind, I read the player pack and registered. See you there.
  4. Hey l319h, Is this event full? Would it be foolish of me to enter this having only played one demo game before?
  5. Hey Al, are you running any demo games this Friday? I wouldn't mind popping down and picking up a few bits and pieces. Maybe get involved in a game too. You were right, I think Lilith is going to suit my style.
  6. I'll be honest, I've found them all pretty challenging. Why: I'm not very good.
  7. Not next week but the week after I actually have a little time off. If you are planning a demo game during the week I'd love some more info and hopefully I can attend. Either the Wednesday or the Friday should be fine. I've even got my own crew, cards and a fate deck and by then I hope to have finished reading the rules so should have a basic understanding of the game. And of course I'm happy to leave my stuff at home if it's easier using your crews so things are basic and evenly matched.
  8. I'm a very new player myself (less than a month if we disregard my sneaky peak at malifaux a few years ago) and I'm looking forward to your store opening up. Ringwood is 25 minutes away and I will definitely like to join in when you open. I've just started building my Ramos crew and the prospect of nearby FLGS is brilliant. Weekdays sadly don't work for me because of work but if you've got a weekend event when you open up I'd love to know more. My mate also will be excited to hear of this too. He is basically down the road.
  9. Pre Coloured?! That's just brilliant. I'll happily pay a little bit more to save myself many hours of likely doing a worse paint job. And because I'm Australian and have played 40k for years these prices look basically free to me I was already going to buy the current range but I honestly can't go past this stuff if it's painted. Looks fantastic and will help me greatly as I finally start to get into this game. EDIT: I've just had a look at the Australian prices through an online retailer (the combat company) and they seem more than fair to me. Has anyone got any experience working out the size for scale train tracks for Malifaux? This terrain is begging for some tracks and I'd be curious if a standard size model train set track would be perfect or if I'd be better of constructing my own.
  10. Brilliant guys. Thanks for the help and I look forward to picking up a 1e or 1.5e book and immersing myself in the malifaux universe.
  11. Perfect. If 1.5 is similar to 1.0 I'll happily say close enough is good enough and pick up a copy or borrow one (but I do have a collectors mentality, Wyrd is gonna love me).
  12. I'd happily pay for an ebook fluff chronicles or even a real book like the olden days. Very helpful so far for a question that has no doubt been asked a thousand times before. shame I need 1.0, I thought 1.5 had all the same fluff, just updated rules. I think everyone go into the game in my group after 1.5 so 1.0 will be hard to find. I'll check out the Wyrd Chronicles too. Thanks
  13. I've been playing Warhammer 40k since 2000 so know my way around an edition change. And 2nd edition is brilliant to me as I hear its a cleaner rule set so will suit me as I am finally starting malifaux. With a new edition it means I won't be too far behind the gaming group I stumbled upon and should be able to pretty much learn ME2 as the rest of the group so I won't be too far behind. But of course that's only from a rules point of view. Ive picked up Misaki and her crew as well as a few bits and pieces (10T archers and Taelor) with a few more to come Yamiziko (I have no idea if this is even close to her name but you know who I mean) and apparently 10T bros are pretty cool too. Im excited by the models and can't wait to paint them over the next few months. But what I really need help with is the fluff. I hear it is fantastic and I'm salivating at learning all about these interesting characters and finding out what the town of malifaux is all about. But I need a reading list? I don't know if I should buy 1.5 just for fluff or if that will be rehashed elsewhere. And I think I also need the expansion set that introduced the 10T's as they are my faction of choice. Where do I start? I'm told malifaux is character driven but I'm not sure how best to discover their stories. With ME2 about to hit I'd hate to find books out of print and the fluff lost to me. Sorry if this post makes me sound simple. I'm an Australian. ...and my Internet is slow today so everything I type on my iPad is delayed so typos are bound to be present.
