  1. I really like the idea of adding additional strategies and schemes. The game naturally has more story in it with the way VP's are earned. Giving us more stories to tell on the table top only makes it an even better experience for those of us that really enjoy that aspect of the game. (and I would assume that is most of us). It was mentioned earlier in the post (if anyone can remember back that far) that a possible way to refresh out of date minions would be to change the strategies to include them, rely on their abilities, etc... I think would be a great way to dust off the old models. Also, I want a chance to kick the dead horse around a bit so here goes (and no I am not going to comment of the RJ/ BJ, that is a dead horse beaten into dust*wink* (I am 36 and disgusted with my self for inserting that)), competition and tournaments in all table top games come down to specific lists and builds. There is always the power list that can take all comers. It may/ may not be right, but it is reality. I have yet to see that game with variable powers that has made the game perfectly balanced. Is balance something to shoot for, yes. Will we get there, no. I know Calmdown was initially wanting to see more original models hit the table for competition and I agree that would be awesome. That said I personally am happy with the release schedules, updates and adjustments Wyrd is making. It has not ruined the game for me. As I mentioned earlier it is about the story for me not the competition. Sorry that doesn't address Calmdown's comments constructively, but everyone else got to say their peace and I have read 32 pages of this post and need to type something. It was 32 pages after all...
  2. The question of revamping the scheme and strategy lists has been thrown around a bit lately, what is your take and what ideas do you have for new schemes and strategies? Also if a tree falls in a malifaux forest am I still wrong? And finally if I poorly paint my models does that hurt their feelings?
  3. depending on the strategy i prefer hamlin to von shill. i tend to use him to position my crew turn one and two. he obeys the convict, student of conflict (as mentioned above) or taelor and give them their full activation to hurt and damange. turn three and sometimes four he is positioning himself and does more obeys in the final rounds and if the opening is there i run a model or two off the board. i take him more than von shill personally but it fits my play style.
  4. My raspy player has never even used bear skin armor. Until you mentioned it I had no clue it existed and had to pull out my book. Thanks for the clarification. I'll have to mention it to him.
  5. I know I am late to this discussion but the pere slingshot is a great way to take out raspy any any models close to her. Best case he bunches and after the pere oopsie the gamin shatter and it really sucks to be him. Worse case he knows about pere and allows you crew to get in position while trying to avoid each other so they dont all die in a flame of, well... oopsie. This allows Ophelia to clac lucks raspy to death. Once she is gone the rest can mop up. All of this said play to your strategy and schemes. With the little green lady's damage output I like assassinate as a scheme. Paired and calc luck man she is sweet.
  6. Pigs can be fun with terrifying. They stampede instead if fall back.
  7. So i think i am an idiot. somewhere i got the impression that when measuring distance for range you subtracted the elevation the model was on (i.e.convict gunslinger shoots at samael who is on top of a 3 inch building reducing his range from 10 inches down to 7 inches) from the total range of the weapon/spell. i just downloaded the faq and it clear shows that was wrong, so i searched the rm and could not find anything like what i explained- so here is my question 1 you just measure base to base for range irregardless of height. and 2 was the subtracting of elevated height ever a part of malifaux?
  8. Sorry I didn't see any responses to that post I made so I have been playing warmachine lately any other events coming up?

  9. I am hinking about running a Brawl Tounrey next friday Dec 16th at 7pm. would you be interested.

  10. I was thinking to run a Malifaux tourney next friday Dec 16th. at 7 PM would you be interested?

  11. I am thinking about running a brawl tourney on Dec 16th at 7. Would you be interested?

  12. So what were the 40 pages of references? Where they quick reference info from online or pages from the book? I ask because it sounds like you may be playing the rules from book 1. If this was the case then I can see where a lot of the confusion is coming from. The rules manual is formatted in a much clearer and is easier to understand than book one. The common abilities, common triggers etc.... Are all at the back of the book. You could print/ copy them but we just pass the book back and forth. Also suggestion on the terrain, it sounds like your terrain is similar to mine stuff from around the house. If you have some spare cloth cut about twelve 3" to 5" shapes as forests and scatter those on the table. With a setup like that you won't be traveling around a bowl with a 40" circumference with models that move 4." We did something similar with shoe box for a building without doors. The game sucked as we never actually engaged.
  13. I use sleeves from Mayday games. I found them at boardgameguy.com but I am sure they can be found at any boardgame store/ online store. The biggest issue is that they are thin. I have not had any issues but at times I think about laminating them.
  14. I have been negligent at posting my results sorry. Lilith 1-0-0 Deliver a message Assassinate Lady J Pandora 1-1-2 Distract, slaughter, treasure hunt Breakthrough, eye for an eye, hold out, kill protege, kidnap Zoriada I have completes the painting lord for dreamer and Som'er. My issue was that I never sent pics before painting. For both I painted about 75 stone worth of models. Since I never sent pics I have not really tracked to it.
  15. So I couldn't think of where else to ask this. Anyway I am ordering ashes and dust once it hits the store and was curious if anyone knows if the bases shown on the release pics come with the model?
