  1. OSL is one of the main reasons (okay, the ONLY reason) I want to get an airbrush.
  2. GMU (if it's George Mason University) is in the Washington, DC area. That being said, I play, and so do a few of my friends. One of my friends and I are in Woodbridge, one is on Ft Belvoir, and one is in Alexandria. PM me for more info, if you like.
  3. First minis? Well done. I've seen much worse, and from people that have been painting a while. The comments on the painting are spot on, so I'll talk about photography: Bend (not fold) a sheet of white printer paper behind your minis, and get two (preferably white) light sources. Make a "V" with the beams, and put the mini at the tip. It will help with the discoloration of the photos, and make the minis "pop" a bit more. (Alternatively, you could blow about $50 on one of those portable eBay-style studios. They're a bit more professional, but not exactly cheap.)
  4. They may take more than just a "few" weeks...I've heard nothing good about Zuzzy's shipping times.
  5. Sure. Krylon's not a bad choice. I prefer Rustoleum, but Krylon's okay.
  6. I use Rustoleum brand double coat gray, mostly. I use white on some things (Super Dungeon Explore minis), and black on others (things with a LOT of metallic bits, like warjacks), but mostly gray.
  7. Mine's still here, and I'm on Firefox. Excellent idea.
  8. I much prefer custom color schemes. Occasionally, I'll like a studio paint enough to emulate it, but I always end up going a slightly different way.
  9. I use the Liquitex when I'm making my washes and glazes. The Matte Mixing Medium, to be specific.
  10. My last flight was in February. Took my Malifaux minis, and some WarmaHordes minis in a BattleFoam bag as my carry-on. No problems there.
  11. Oooh! I know THIS one! I just heard about it the other day, in another thread. Future. Use Future. (Yes, the floor polish.) I don't know why it works, but it does. And. It. Is. Awesome.
  12. I just use multiple layers of thinned washes. It works out rather well for sheer fabrics (such as stockings and lilitu's dress).
  13. That IS tricky. I rarely use a single base scheme across multiple crews. I do for WarmaHordes armies with multiple 'casters; but Malifaux models are so unique, I'm tempted to use different bases for each model, instead of each crew. My Ramos is on cog bases from Black Cat Bases. Raspy, Kaeris, and Marcus are all on Micro Arts Minis bases (Winter Shale, Chaos/Old Factory, and Jungle, respectively).
  14. Well, most of my terrain is done on 1/4" foamcore that I can pick up at the local Dollar Tree for (yep, you guessed it!) $1 per sheet. (One sheet being about 18" x 30"). I'm also using it to make some Super Dungeon Explore boards, and it's working beautifully.
  15. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? This is new to me. What's the ratio of Future:Paint?
